  1. Which the writer addressed as to why they won't change to a traditional 43 as Wanny has run in the past. Because the personnel they have currently doesn't fit that type of scheme.
  2. Can't believe they value Sanborn over Fred Jackson and Stevie Johnson
  3. Did you hear this first hand? Can anyone confirm?
  4. It might not be as much as he's asking for, remember the quote from Joe Buscaglia. It's pretty vague but the $7.5M could be what he's looking for annually, prior to signing bonuses etc. He could be asking for something like 5 years $50M or so when you add a signing bonus of $12M.
  5. Jones-drew and lesean McCoy were all pro RBs this yr. could be related to team performance also, so like a fifth if they make the playoffs and a sixth if they don't.
  6. Reiff-Jones-Jones-Osweiler-Howard
  7. I think they stick to a 3 man front as their base defense, sometimes an OLB will put his hand on the ground technically making it a 43 but really it doesn't matter. When they go nickel, 47% of the time last year according to Nix, they will run a 4 man front with Sheppard off the field and Bryan Scott (who needs to be resigned) playing nickel LB.
  8. Was it a report from a source like mort or schefter?
  9. With Bell's inability to stay healthy what difference would it make? Percentages say Hairston will be starting the majority of the games anyway. Also, I've yet to see Reiff or Martin ranked where they wouldn't be worthy of the #10 pick. I don't like the idea of picking for need, so taking a pass rusher just because he's a pass rusher can come back to bite you. A big part of the the Giants game is pass rush, but the Bills beat the Patriots this past season, so apparently there's more than one way to skin a cat. Besides, said pass rusher that you're drafting would be a rookie also.
  10. Including Arian Foster, who is a restricted free agent.
  11. Either Hairston, who started for Bell while he was out, or a high draft choice (could be Reiff or Martin in the 1st).
  12. What do you mean by "HUGE target" when making that reference in regards to Brandon Lloyd? He is capable of making some acrobatic catches, however at 6'0" 188lbs I wouldn't describe him as HUGE. He's also 31 and likely on the downside of his career. I don't think Tollefson offers much more than what they have in Kelsay. He's a nice player but I don't think he offers the type of pass rusher that the Bills are in desperate need of. Erin Henderson is EJs brother, he's only 26. However he would likely only fit at OLB in a 43 so depending on the system they plan to run he could be a fit.
  13. Jacksonville hosted 2 Prime time games & played in another, IMO the start to the season last year gives them one even if it's a measly Thursday nighter.
  14. If they stay in a 3 man front I honestly don't hate their chances of finding at least a serviceable starter amongst Troup, Carrington, Edwards, Heard and Spencer Johnson.
  15. Aaron Williams is likely one of your starters, I'm guessing Florence will be the other. I'm also guessing McGee is cut and they draft another CB in the bottom half of the draft. I don't want D Bell back, he's always hurt and is going to cost quite a bit as probably the best free agent OT this offseason.
  16. I don't really see him as a #1 long snapper, more of a #2
  17. Clifton is not an all pro, nor has he ever been named to an all pro team. I get your point, but from this most recent post it seems what you are saying is that you need a few players who can make those around them better, not necessarily an all pro at each of those positions.
  18. I'm in agreement with you, their job is to get the best talent on the field and put them into the best situations that you possibly can to make them successful. Doesn't it make more sense to run a 34 when you have 3 huge players capable of playing those positions rather than shoehorning one of them into an edge rushing/outside contain position where they wouldn't be at their best? If you sign a guy like Soliai for big money you're not going to play a defensive front that doesn't allow your 3 best players to be at their best. That's what the Giants are doing.
  19. They're not edge defenders, which is what you'd be asking them to do in that instance.
  20. Nothing about his play suggests he can't play in a 43. However none of Dareus, Soliai and Williams have the ideal skillset to play 43 DE. Therefore we have these 3 players that you claim would "look awesome" next to one another with one of them on the sidelines.
  21. For those that want Soliai signed I think the assumption would be that they are sticking with the 34.
  22. Soliai was drafted in 2007, at that point Chan had been at GT for 4 years & Wannstedt at Pitt for 2. Your best bet at a connection to Miami while Soliai was there would have been George Edwards.
  23. It's not as though he's completely incapable and he's a good all around type player, but his main strength isn't as a pass rusher & there are better pass rushers available in this draft class.
  24. The majority Of teams use this system.
  25. Freeney's not an FA
