  1. 1. TT is what he is, we all know it, but we're going to have to get used to it AGAIN for at least one more season. We won't see any movement on him until at least the Cinccy game, IMO. If we're 1 - 3 going into that game the season is toast and we need to see what Peterman has.

    2. This soft zone was getting beat all day yesterday; yes, they tightened up in the red-zone but CN missed two throws that should've put the game out of reach. The score was NOT indicative of the actual details. The defense played well, no mistaking that, but it was closer than it would have been if we were playing someone NOT coming off shoulder surgery, lacking accuracy past 20 yards, that's a fact.

    3. Penalties, wow, only two I think, huge improvement all around.

    4. Shady was bottled up, and Dennison needs to be prepared for this next week Vs. the Broncos, and he better have a plan. My plan is to roll out, screens, seam routes to the TE to open up the running lanes. We have to get the numbers in the box to match our running attack. Until that happens, Shady is going anywhere.

    5. Matthews has decent hands and seems very into the game. He's a leader on the field and needs to be more involved, period.

    6. Right side of the O-Line needs help right now. They'll get better over time, but right now they are in desperate need of scheming the offense away from that side.

    7. Clock management? Nuff said, McD will get better.

    8. Pass rush and LB play was the strength of the D yesterday, the zone defense was the weakness. Good news is that White and Gains are ballers, along with Poyer! It's a Dfense you can build around, with solid core of guys.

    Theory:

TT does NOT see the field well, he just does not, and it isn't going to get better, rolling him out left and right will help with this, 7 step drops will also help, although perhaps not next week against the Broncos. I think TT problem is mostly mental. He (I think) prides himself on taking care of the ball, to a point where he's hard-wired at this point. There is exactly ZERO gunslinger mentality in him. He's too afraid of making a mistake, and I can appreciate that, but, it's not what the Bills need. We have a defense that can bail you out of a turnover here and there. TT needs to put it up, make a play, but more importantly understand that with higher risk comes a much higher reward. The reward here is that he'll most likely NOT throw that many picks, and more completed passes, and even more important, the running game will benefit greatly from this approach.

  2. I agree with the OP, I watched him closely all day. He had a couple of good penetrations, and was doubled quite a bit on passing plays, but for 100 Million, you want to hear his name more often, I would assume..

Serious question: What does he do that Worthy, or Washington cannot? I liked me some big stuff BEFORE he got paid but ever since, he's just not showing enough to justify that contract, JMO.

  3. Oh boy, that was so sweet to watch.. I started Brady though but I'll take it, $3 game on DK is more than a price to pay for this.

That D is in big big trouble, and no Michaels and Collingsworth, it wasn't "JUST" because of hightower going down you moron. Outside of McCourty that secondary is soft,a nd the front 7 is barely college sturdy.. Seems they ignored the D this off season, and it showed. I guess letting all those big names walk because you have Brady is starting to catch up to the evil genius. Let's hope it's not just a facade though.

  4. Well my take on NP is that earlier after PS Game 1 that there was no way he'd unseat Yates. Well, crow officially eaten, and he has impressed. Will he start this year? Again, barring injury it is unlikely, IMO. He shows promise, more so than EJ ever did, and I was an EJ fanboy for a time. I'd like to see how he handles regular season defenses, where teams will game-plan for his weaknesses. Things he does well, are the things that frustrate Bills fans about TT, but then TT does things that we haven't yet seen NP do, soooooo there's a big unknown about him at this point. I trust McD, and Beane to know who best to start, and I think TT, assuming he's healthy will in fact start against the Jets next week.

  5. I don't think anyone even remotely claims that Mathews for Watson makes us better today. I think part of it is the economics and Fit to the system. If you drive 30 miles to work every day and you only plan on driving 30 mile with an occasional 100 mile trip , do you really need a Ferari ? Maybe a nice lexus will do ? Then you can spend $$ on other things. Sammy would say bonehead things every once in a while but he was a good team mate and a great wide receiver when on the field. Brady does not beat us routinely with 75 yard bombs , he beats us with continued pressure from possession receivers. I believe they are planning to go to a more controlled offense sprinkled in with the deep pass . Will it work I have no idea but I can see what they are planning.

Stop making sense, although, rather than compare to the Brady offense, I'm more inclined to believe that McD is moving to something similar to the Chiefs offense. Outside of that stud TE they have, who else is "flashy"? Okay, Hill, certainly fits that mold, and their RB, Ware not to shabby, but that's the point. I think the more I look at our offense and comparing it to others around the league, it makes me think this is where they are going. Build a strong D through the draft, and carry the ship on offense. It's worked for the Chiefs, can it work for us, is still up in the air.

  6. Look, I'm not suggesting the kid is awful, far from it, but to truly evaluate a guy like that you have to see more, MUCH more. Yates did not look good, but maybe there's a reason for that, perhaps many reasons. Maybe he feels the breath of NP on his neck, I would, but for my money, Yates, at least from what I saw so far in TC, Yates is our #2

  7.

What impressed you about Yates that puts him above Peterman?

nothing impressed me about Yates, but he has years of experience on NP, and played in a playoff game. Yates will show up better in the next few games, at least this is what I'm hoping. Guys like Russell Wilson and Dak who really shine in preseason are guys that you honestly say, yeah I could see this guy leading our team, NP doesn't have that yet.. But he will.

  8. Conveniently, I left those glasses at home as well... but he was also playing WITH 3's.... Peterman threw a few behind the WR's and sailed a couple, but he has about 14 minutes of NFL experience and looked better with a lesser supporting cast...

Agreed, I especially liked his poise, but come on, he really does have a long, very long way to go. He'll sit most this year and I think that's a good thing for his development.

  9.

    Cocaine is a helluva drug

That was certainly bold. I will give you that

    CBF

Some of it bold, but Shady with 2600 all purpose yards not that much of a stretch. David Johnson has done that twice the last few years I think. Plus, Shady has already eluded to the fact that he will be more involved in the passing attach under this new offense, so? Jags making the playoffs? The talent is there, and we all know DM can coach, and loves to pound the ground which will help Bortles a lot, and that rookie RB is going to have an awesome year, IMO under a DM system. Ok, Chiefs being last in the NFL? Probably not, but I don't want to jinx anything.. :) I think the other RB's that has 2k potential are Elliot, Johnson, and Fournette, by virtue of their offensive philosophies, and talent on O-Line.

    Tim-

  10. League: Jags make the Playoffs, Chiefs have worst record in the NFL, two 2k rushers, one of them our very own Shady, the other, Marrone, coach of the year. ;)

Bills: Shady has 2600 all purpose yards, 2K rushing, 16 TD's, Bills D-line all have double digits sacks, White is in the running for DROY, Darby makes Pro bowl, Taylor throws for 4k passing and 600 yrds rushing, and finally Bills make the playoffs win the AFCE. :)

There, you heard it here first.

  11.

I'm so f'ing disgusted with them right now I can barely type

Me either, I am really shocked by this. Whaley was NOT the problem here, if anything can be blamed on him, it might be that he allowed himself to be outplayed by pretty much everyone. Whaley is a talented evaluator, he'll land on his feet just fine. Well I hope the Pegulas are happy. If Brandon is advising them on this crap, they and we as fans are in for another decade of shitery... As for McD, well, it's all on him now, if he asked for this, well he got it!

  12. Already chalking him up better than Gilmore? Optimistic

Not so much that, but when you factor in we have a 3rd this year and a first next year, and a whole ton of cash to sign other needs, if someone came to Whaley at the end of 2015 and offered that up, would you take it with one year left on SG contract? You get White (hypothetically speaking) 3rd, and 1st, and save 13m in cap.. So the question is, is Gilmour THAT much better? I don't think so, not even close. White is solid, he may not win games on his own, but he won't lose any either.
