Great for the locker room, and still a solid third down threat on any team. If the price is right, why not? Tim-

Are you ready for Wednesday Night Football?
D521646 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My Gawd, really? I mean, really? Who the F*ck cares about Obama? Obama couldn't compete with opening day of the NFL and he knows it, so either they asked the NFL or Goodie is an unabashed libbie.. Tim- -
Without a defense it matters little who our QB is.. Period! I wouldn't trade the farm for any rookie QB, not a chance! Way to risky. Fitz can win in this league as long as the defense is solid (Ala New York Jets and Sanchez) so don't tell me that we need a QB first, I say baloney! Tim-

This was my initial thought, but then I thought, naw, couldn't be that. Tim-

I see Coples probably dropping into the second round, or late 1st.. He's not impressing anyone at the combine that's for sure, and I see Mayock (As I am now myself remember I made a threa that we should pick him at 10 if he's there) wilting on him as well.. I dunnno, I am liking a lot of guys I didn't earlier after the first three days at the combine.. At this point I have no idea what the Bills are going to do. Maybe FA helps that out a bit? Tim-

This kid would be a value pick in the second, and especially the third round but I fear he doesn't make it past the second as everyone and their mother is looking for the next Cruz. His lack of production scares me not playing in that option nonesense. The kid is a player, period! Tim-

What kind of money would Manningham command?
D521646 replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, remember it well.. I'm not saying Manningham couldn't be a No 1 somewhere else, maybe even here, but he certainly doesn't command that kind of money. I'm curious what some here think. I'd like to have Manningham join the Bills but not for 8 Mil a year that's for sure.. Tim- -
Just read this article, and not sure what Manningham is expecting by way of his actual stats? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8273eb24/article/giants-wr-manningham-says-leaving-team-a-near-certainty What does 160 catches in 4 years net a WR these days? Tim-

Buddy doesn't like Top DEs Mock

Nix is posturing, IMO. You're damned right they're picking a DE at 10, I'd bet my house on it. Tim- -
Boy, the Colts are in deep do-doo in 2012
D521646 replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dunno.. I've said before that there are a few good QB's up and coming over the next few years, and if I'm in rebuilding mode I think I trade the Luck pic for the future of the organization. That's just me, and I could be wrong but one man in the Qb position can lead the team, yes, but is that Luck? Why wouldn't you trade him away for the farm? I guess it could go either way and there are two schools of thought there, but if it were me, I'd take my chances with Manning this year and build for the next ten.. Tim- -
Is it me, or does anyone else watching this interview with the Colts new GM and Coach think first that the GM is way too young, and IMO looks uncomfrotable, and secondly the coach Pagano doesn't seem to mesh well with the new GM. I sense no matter who the Colts draft in 2012 they are going to be in serious rebuilding for the next few years. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/09000d5d82725845/New-coach-new-GM-no-problem?continuous=true Thoughts, Tim-

I was browsing other fan fourms today and the sense out there is that ANY of those teams fan base would take SJ in a heartbeat. I'd say 75% would of course there are some that don't want him comparing him to TO and Moss cancers, but they simply don't know much about how great of a character guy SJ really is. Tim-

Football, perhaps more than any other game, is truly a team sport. No single player, or even collection of players is going to make you great. You need consistency in order to formulate the equations. Like moving variables if you wish. The better one can slow down the moving objects the better one can become at formulating the equation that puts them altogether.. I know it sounds a bit nerdish to say these things (Physics hobbiest) but the reality is that, the more you can define and pin a particular variable, it no longer needs to be controlled for, and you can move on to other, less defined variables. Apply to a football team, or any team, and the job becomes easier for head coaches and GM's. Tim-

Peters , Wilson ----- Mckelvin ????
D521646 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say why not.. Look the idea behind drafting is to get starters in your 1st, and 2nd rounds for sure. That means taking the best "sure thing" available at that slot. To me that means taking a guy that you don't **need** but is an upgrade, and making things happen either in FA or by switching roles for the positons you do need. I like the OP's idea, but it sounds a lot better on paper than it probably would in practice. Tim- -
Mayock is ok for what you want to use him for. Mel Kiper is also pretty good. My understanding is that you're really trying to just nail down a list of college players so that you can focus on 4 or 5 in each category. That (In all honesty) shouldn't be too difficult. You also need to understand that picking winners in the NFL draft is not an exact science by any stretch. One can measure physical tangible qualities, and even to some degree intangibles, but no one can predict how a kid will react to his new environment, money, and other as equally qualified team mates. Remember, a lot of these guys especially in the first 3 rounds are the best on their teams in college. They go from being the top dog to the rookie scum suckers in the NFL. They are just another guy in a myriad of guys trying to make the team, and they aren't treated special. (In most cases) That adjustment is difficult for a lot of players, the mentally tough one's seem to be the guys that "get-that" lesson early, and run with it. Gabbert's performance last year is certainly worthy of criticism but the book is not closed on him yet. He could still turn out pretty good with the right coaching staff and players around him. Tim-

Stevie Johnson interviews SI cover model Kate Upton
D521646 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SJ shouldn't give up his day job that's for sure. He's a horrible interviewer, but I'm sure not many of you actually pciked up on that nuance? She's hot, yep, no doubt about it. She also appears to have a brain, which, do not always go hand-n-hand. Tim- -

That's odd. Mayock had Coples as his first DE going in the draft. NFL Network has his top 5 selections for each category on their ticker at the bottom, and I have seen Mayock have Coples #1 the whole time for best DE? Did something change? Tim-

All Peyton Manning, all the time!
D521646 replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Some" draft picks? How many would YOU give for Manning? I'd make a shot at signing him but I wouldn't give anything to the Colts in return. Besides, Manning has a trade clause in his agreement if memory serves? Tim- -
Why are we talking about free agency?
D521646 replied to XXL Franchize's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely! FA totally affects the mock drafts. Guys like Blackmon (As an example) could conceivably drop to 7th, 8th ....or 12th pick, depending on how FA plays out. Tim- -
A sensible football approach to FA.
D521646 replied to Armchair GM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Armchair, I was with you, -or- before you on Spencer, and Robinson, I think these guys are signable and would impact our team tremendously, so kudos for great minds and all. I also think that the "big name" WR we nab if any will be Roy Williams from Chi Town.. He won't command even #3 money so why not? I actually like the kid we picked up from Oakland last year, and I predeict he makes the team as our number 3 guy. He showed some skillz in the few games he played. I'm nowhere near as worried about our offense if healthy than I am about the Defense. If any real money is spent it needs to be here, IMO. Tim- -
[closed]Randy Moss wants to come back
D521646 replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks.. Well, I was placing tongue firmly in cheek, but hey.. I guess on a re-read I can see how that could be missed. Tim- -
I say not a bad pick up, even if it only sells tickets. Tim-

So if my math is correct, that puts Manning to the Bills for 4-years left on his contract and the 4 year already paid by Irssay, and that leaves $60 million left on Manning contract the Bills would pick up in a straight up trade to Indy? Still not buying it, but if Manning is 80 - 90 100% come September I would seriously consider this trade? Not likely, hell not even remotely likely but hey ya never know I suppose? Tim-
