When we cut down to 53, how do we sign other players that have also been cut from other teams? Do we sign them and then cut the player that the new signed player takes? Talk about a punch in the gut, eh? Yay I made the 53 man roster, Oops, no, sorry Ma I was today coz Nix signed some other dude.. Talk about sucking! Tim-

Russell Wilson to start Friday
D521646 replied to Thirty Year Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched the 2nd half of the Seattle game again last night and I don't know, this Wilson kid really is the real deal, IMO. Yes, it's preseason and all that jazz, but come on? Anyone who knows anything about Football can't dismiss this kids potential in the NFL? All that said, I have no regrets and it is what it is. TJ hasn't shown "blow my mind" skillz yet, but he could, and if he does what Chan and Nix think he can, then we should all be happy about it in the end. Cheers! Tim- -
I don't know about underrated, heck everyone I've ever seen or heard talk about him seems to agree that he's a great DL?? In fact i can't think of anyone that has said otherwise? Tim-

^^ this! I believe that they talked to Merrimen and said look, we're going to release you now instead of later so you can hook up with a team. I am as shocked as anyone but we DO indeed have young talen on this team at both LB and DE. It was the right move if indeed the move was made in the interests of Merrimens contribution over the last couple of years. he was a great team guy and locker room pressence. I'm sad to see him go, but it does make sense. Good luck to him, and I thank him for his efforts. I just hope he doesn't go to the Jets, Patriots or Fins.. Tim-

I watched intently last night as NFLN ran the Hawks/Titans game and I have to tell you that I was impressed with Russell Wilson. So much so that I remembered a few here on TBD wanting to take him in the draft and me quietly scawffing at the idea. Well, I was wrong. The kid looks to be very good and WILL start in the NFL someday soon, IMO. He's like a minature Cam Newton, but faster, and I think a stronger arm. Thoughts? Tim-

What is the Best Bills D-Line Nickname ?

LOL, I've been DVR'ing the "All 32 teams training Camp" thingy on NFLN since last week. What a joke, so funny that literally one segment will be repeated after the commercial.. It's like summer interns are running the show over there. All I've seen so far is Jets, Broncos, Fins, Cowboys, Lions, Cardinals, Philly, Giants, and some Chargers. Oh and yeah the Browns, but I am hard pressed to think of anything else they've showed. To the other poster on Sapps comments about the Bills D.. LOL I laughed my arse off at his comments. He's such a loser, and to be honest there are really only two or three guys who's analytics I can at least appreciate on NFLN. By the way. It's not that I'm being biased or anything. Baldingers comments on the Jets, etc.. etc.. These clowns actually get paid to say this stuff; stuff I might add that anyone with half a football brain could pull off. Anyway's it's like a drive by accident. I still record the damn show in the hope that someone will make a run at leader of the analysts.. Tim-

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Report: 7/26/2012

Outstanding, Mike! For your next report can you give us some defensive impressions. Mainly I'd like to know how Merrimen is looking, Williams etc. Thanks, Tim- -
We were wrong about the Chris Kelsay extension!
D521646 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, I was always a fan of Kelsay, and still am. I think he'll do well this year in his natural position, and finally with elite guys around him. Tim- -
Great write up, someone who knows Rochester. The location at Lyle Ave is by far the best to eat garbage plates, no question, but it is a drive from the facility, however, it is easy to find as it is just off the expressway. I was going to bring my kids this year but after reading your thoughts I tend to agree with you. Not that I'm selfish (Okay maybe a little) but I want to go to training camp to actuall enjoy training camp. I love all 4 of my kids but lets be real, I really wouldn't enjoy it if I took them. Tim-

An optimistic view of our chances game by game in '12
D521646 replied to Hplarrm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me the Jets game will set the tone for the season. The gamne I'm most scared of is the KC game as revenge games always are tough, but since it's at home this year I like ourt chances. Cleveland, we win, NE we win, I say 4 -0 is very possible, but if we lose to anyone it will be NE in the fourth game, getting beat by screens and a running game. The key to any Bills victory this year is going to be in getting a lead early and forcing teams to open up in the passing game. Tim- -
Front office has had preliminary talks with Levitre
D521646 replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like both signed, but I agree with the consensus that ATM AL is a must sign guy. We would miss Byrd, but I can see McGee fitting in nicely at FS as he ends his acareer in Blo. tim- -
Perhaps, all I'm saying is that if you're a receiver it helps when you and your QB have a relationship. Could've been the playbook (Might have been actually) but I think some of it was Brady's unwillingness to throw to him. I will add that brady's unwillingness to throw to Ocho might have been his lack of confidence in Ocho's ability to actually catch the ball, but no one can argue that brady's favorite targets were the TE's and Welker. I'm not as convinced as many that NE's offense was any more complicated than anyone else's, sorry, so I have to conclude that more was involved with why Ocho wasn't targeted as much. Tim-
-
I agree that Ocho signed 1, Because he still thinks he can play, 2. Hard Knocks, 3. He'd be the spotlight in Miami, and add that the Phins signed him because of 3, and 2, might get them 1, and to fill seats (Of course). Look Miami beat us twice last year. Ocho still has some gas left and saying that he sucks because he couldn't play with Brady throwing him the ball is ignorant. Everyone knows Brady and Ocho made nice/nice for the cameras but the chemistry was NEVER there, period. I hope he does well in Miami, but plays crap against us. Oh, and I called this signing on page 2 of this thread. Tim-

Gronk signes 6 yr extension with the *pats
D521646 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a TE it speaks of crazy money, IMO. teams, especially in the AFCE have built their squads this year to diminish Gronks "abilities". BB was smart with this deal. It shows me that they really only believe he can keep it up (If healthy) for a couple of years at which point they will hold the cards on what to do with him. Also, his none football activities suggest he's a bit of a playboy. I wish him well (when he's not playing the Bills) he deserves the credit and respect, but the deal isn't as sick as it appears at first glance. Tim- -
I think the Fins wil pick him up to be honest. I'm bucking conventional wisdom and saying that there's a 50.50 chance that we grab him for a tryout. He doesn't seem like a Nix/Chan kinda guy, but I bet they've had serious discussions about him since last night. Tim-

Can We Start the Season Already?
D521646 replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't wait.. Can't wait to see: Fitz improved mechanics with the Lee as his QB coach, AND healthy, AND watching over his shoulder (Nix insurance money for that contract JUST in-case his down turn last year wasn't ALL about the ribs) at VY To see how Chan utilizes CJ and Freddie together. Who wins the starting jobs on the O-line Whether Chan will use Cory more this year catching out of the backfield. Whether Chandler improves on last year. Will a 2nd, and 3rd receiver step up this year. Will our new secondary become legendary. Will we stay healthy. And last but not least... How much will our front 7 dominate? Tim- -
