It was brutal, I was SOOooooooo pissed..

Ok cool thanks, I was hoping to get the Colts broadcast team, as listening to the homers isn't as much fun when we rock it.

Guys, I have DirecTV and live in Rochester, and when I went to watch yesterday it said the game was blacked out in my area? It wasn't a damn home game? I watched in WKBW of course, but still. Anyone else have this problem?

So What Would a Successful Season Be For EJ?
D521646 replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me, like Wilson last year, he must play so well that he is the unmistakable Bills starting QB. That is his first metric, the second being able to read defenses and make the right decisions in key moments, thirdly, stay healthy, fourthly, managing the game where we beat the teams we should be beating, and are close in games where we are the underdogs. -

I was one of the few that actually wanted MD over VM, and was happy Denver picked him before us, but last year I was starting to have serious doubts about that thought process, only now to be somewhat vindicated. -
Optimistic for sure, but not out of the realm of possibility I suppose. All depends on game one vs. the Pats. We win that with EJ at the helm and we set the tone for the season. We'll see if Marrone has the gonnies to start the rookie if he earns it, or if it's s tie between him and Kolb.

Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp
D521646 replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I haven't chimed in on this whole escapade since the beginning, but I will now. To me, it comes down to pure dollars vs. performance. The questions the Bills FO should and probably did asses are, is Byrd so good that replacing him with a rookie or Williams/Searcy will cost this team a playoff spot or a win or two here and there? My guess is the answer to that question is probably not. Two, I was watching the 2010 Hard Knocks on the Jets this past weekend, and they had a lot of Pettine on therem and from what I can glean, he is a no nonsense type of coach, and to me has a great eye for talent. There were several times where he said that this player or that player had no chance of making the team, so my guess is that the FO, Marrone, and Co, are leaning heavily on Pettine's assessment of the guys in OTA's. Further, it makes sense that at this point with what appears to be zero movement on the Byrd front that Pettine has stated that he can work with what he's got. And if you want to add a third question, I would say that Whaley needs to send a message to guys like Parker that he is not to be messed with. Parker thinks Byrd is the best safety in the league, no one else other than Byrd and Parker think that he is, so Whaley MUST stand his ground here, and play hard ball. I'm personally ok with that. -
Who says there's no attractive Jills?

I don't mess around.. In and out is what I always say.. But seriously to answer the question if memory serves I only used one of the three links I have at my disposal. She was quite satisfied at that, however I had the other two ready to go if they were called on. -

I can't for the life of me understand why these kids when they grow up just punch their Mothers right back in the face for all the abuse they withstood? I mean God Damn she punched in the face with rings on, tortured the boy.. Don't talk to me about her being a female and all that nonsense. His mother needs to die, she's a waste of skin! -
I'll be there, not sure which days, and whether I can get my mobile hotspot to work this time. LOL I live in Rottenchester, and plan on bringing the kids this year to a day practice or two.

The Bills cuts this year will be coveted
D521646 replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If anyone says there are no signs of optimism over the hype from last year, you're smoking crack. This isn't last year, but in a lot of ways I am MORE excited about this year. We drafted well, IMO, we seem to be building a specific deep-speed, fast-paced offense that will give most structured defenses fits, creating mismatches everywhere. Our Defense has many questions, but the one glaring one is how will Pettine get the most out of everyone? I for one think we have depth at WR, CB, DT, and S, and the depth we have will make a lot of teams keep tabs on who we let go. -
More than any other year, I see teams watching the Bills cuts with a very keen eye. I see several positions that would be of interest to other teams such as DT, CB, WR, S. I think we're going to have to let some guys go that can play in this league. What say you?

I saw one of the videos from OBD on Gilmore showing him wearing #24 this year? Sorry if this has ben posted already, but I thought it was interesting that he is taking McGee's old number. McGee in his prime was awesome and I can only hope that Gilmore is every bit as talented, if not more. Thoughts?

I'm not trying to be a downer on anyone else here. I just evaluated the merit of the OP's question about starting and I have no educated opinion on his ability to start. Certainly not at this point in the game. Do I like EJ? Yes, I said early in March that we should draft him over anyone else, but I was warming to Nassib towards the end. They got their guy, and I personally think he's got all the right tangible and intangible gifts. I think he's going to be great! That's what I expect of him, but whether starts or sits I have no idea, and I trust Marrone to make that call.
-
I think it doesn't matter what I think. Marrone will decide and in him I trust until I see a reason not too.

How much is Byrd asking for? Anyone know?

Rd 3, Pick #78: WR Marquise Goodwin - Texas
D521646 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you be specific? What skillz does he need to refine? I never saw anything in any tape that says he can't catch, run, and get open? All I saw was a lot less film that's mostly because Texas didn't know what to do. Kind of like Chan.... -

There's not a DB in the AFC that can cover this guy, I'm going on record right now. -

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. beating the Patriots twice in one season would be a huge accomplishment! When Lindell kicked that field goal to beat the Pats two years ago, it was as close as we've come to the same feeling as winning the SB as we've had in 13 years!
