Bills hosting DL Ryan Russell for visit; Signed
Kaenon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe they'll send Lawson to the Chiefs in exchange for a conditional 4th, up to a 3rd. Not what I want... -
Unfortunately, he won't get a mulligan until he starts Week 1 @ Baltimore. McD made one mistake last year and it was that game. Peterman was coming along, and was looking pretty good for a 5th-round pick. He was named starter mid-week, taking a west coast trip to face one of the better defenses in the NFL with the best d-line tandem in the league in Bosa and Ingram. KB going down on the first series stalled momentum. Our O-line was very frail that week too as I recall... I'm glad that ugly half of football didnt get at Peterman too much. Kid has some swagger and moxy, and I wish him all the best. We got to be able to root for competition.

Derrius Guice ? -
I'll tell you what. Tremaine Edmunds is absurdly good. I am so ecstatic we got him at #16, and we got Allen? My goodness what a draft. Also, I really like Harrison Phillips - he plays a lot like Kyle and has some of the same swim and rip moves on pass rush technique. Plusnalsona stout run defender, very intelligent and pretty instinctive. Can't tell you I've ever felt this good about our first three picks. We are very lucky.

RD3, Pick 96: Harrison Phillips DT - Stanford

Yeah, I think he led all DTs in the nation in tackles. Lunch pail, smart, versatile and athletic DT with a high motor. Sound familiar? -
RD3, Pick 96: Harrison Phillips DT - Stanford

Quite the selection. Great value with our only day 2 pick. -
Rudolph is not a better QB coming out of college. I've not watched any Wyoming games, but I have listened to talk radio and have read so much from well respected national pundants, sports scientists and others who have talked up Allen. I hold their opinions in higher regard and many of them believe Allen is the best QB in this draft. Not a single one said Rudolph, Jackson, Lauletta, or Rosen were the best.

It's interesting to see how much people care about what people they don't know write in response to their opinions... Internet.

Why didn't NE make a move for a QB in Rd.1???
Kaenon replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Contrary to popular belief, Belichick makes a lot of poor personnel decisions. Jimmy G., Chandler Jones benching Butler to name a few recent ones. -
Who you believe was the 7th or 8th QB? Now I know not to read this garbage ever again, I've read all I need to know.

Opinions on why we passed on Rosen?
Kaenon replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Injury concerns likely played a factor. Attitude likely did not play a factor. Cold weather concerns, doubtful. Overrated? No, he is closest to pro ready as a pure pocket passer. 2 concussions last year plus shoulder injury a couple of years ago likely played a factor, but more important - Allen was viewed as the best, can't pass up prospect. -
Not at all. We slayed it last night - Allen best QB and Tremaine Edmunds is a scary good football player.
-
And to carry on to that point, look what we did: We traded Sammy Watkins, Tyrod Taylor, Cordy Glenn and our 2nd-round pick for Allen and Edmunds.
-
Any chance we trade back into the 2nd?
Kaenon replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's possible. We need some O-line help after losing 3 starters to help out the new Franchise QB, though I don't think our line will be as bad as some think... The line as I see it now is: Dawkins - ? - Groy - Ducasse - Newhouse ? = John Miller? He got beat out for RG by Ducasse middle/late last season, but could perhaps be better suited on the left side, as he started 46 games at left guard at Louisville. He goes back to his natural position now with Incognito gone, and hopefully we see him come out of this really well! So... Dawkins-Miller-Groy-Ducasse-Newhouse Just need to add some depth. -
It's great to finally have a competent Head Coach/GM combo. I am happy and I hope you all are as well! Let's go Buffalo!!!
-
Nah, they have a couple of representatives who go to the draft, but the team's heavy hitters stay at the home site in their respective "War Rooms."
-
Yeah, that Aaron Rodgers guy is pretty bad too. Watch out!

Give us your realistic, best, Bills top 100 picks
Kaenon replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills find their trade partner in Chicago at #8 overall and give up the #65 overall pick to do so. Chicago will then go best defensive player available at #12. The Bills will then draft the following: #8 - QB, Josh Rosen [UCLA] #22 - C, Frank Ragnow [Arkansas] #53 - DT, B.J. Hill [N.C. State] #56 - LB, Oren Burks [Vanderbilt] #96 - WR, Dante Pettis [Washington] -
Warning: The following is extremely hypothetical and is all opinion based; this is just meant in good fun as I am eagerly awaiting this year's draft just as I did 2004/2005 (I list both because of the events that precipitated out of it. This is obviously a stretch of hindsight is 20/20 and shoulda-woulda-coulda, sprinkled in with a dose of...hmmm, that could have been possible. I also bring it up because the 2018 is being talked about similar to the 2004 draft, where we will likely see 3 high-quality NFL starters come out of the 1st round that will be the face of the NFL in the years to come. 2004: QB-centric and QB-heavy draft, touted best since 1983. The Bills had some idea they wanted a QB in this draft, but opted not to move up for the big three of Manning, Rivers and Roethlisberger. Instead, the Bills stayed in place and draft Lee Evans just two (2) picks after Big Ben. Then, later in round 1- the Bills assume they can draft their guy from Tulane, the one and only J.P. Losman at 22nd overall at the expense of our 2004 2nd and 2005 1st round pick. At the conclusion of the 2004 NFL season, the Bills released then starting QB Drew Bledsoe, who then went on to play a good season or so of football in Dallas. Flash forward to 2005: Drew Bledsoe still had a season or two left in him, and the Bills went 9-7 in 2004. We could have waited just one-year to draft a QB, and this guy would have been sitting there at #20 when the Bills would have selected in the 2005 NFL draft. Aaron Rodgers. In fantastic fashion, I believe these two drafts were the absolute worst in Bills history. Reality: Between 2004/2005 we landed: (1st and 2nd round only) Lee Evans, J.P. Losman and Roscoe Parrish Alternate Universe: Between 2004/2005 we could have landed: (1st and 2nd round only) Lee Evans, Bob Sanders (bpa), Aaron Rodgers and likely Roscoe Parrish :-p

Keep our picks, draft Kyle Lauletta?
Kaenon replied to Gavin in Va Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do like Lauletta. Obviously he impressed at the senior bowl, has many good physical traits and competitiveness, but he wasn't a top recruit, and hadn't gotten a ton of buzz throughout the last couple of seasons until very late. With that being said, I like what I've watched on him after listening to a couple of his interviews. Has that fire, competitive spirit and moxy you want and carries a chip on his shoulder. I think he could see play and do well in the right fit with the right coaches and system - but getting that chance is very difficult for a mid-round prospect. I suspect he could go as high as round 2, and as low as round 5.
