NFL Network's Mike Mayock has Buffalo selecting DRC...
timmyk12 replied to LevysEraII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I agree the Bills need a CB sometime in the draft, they have 2 decent corners in McGee and Greer, William James who will compete with Greer for starting CB, and Youboty--the jury is still out on this guy, but he did make some plays late in the season. Being 4 deep at CB and playing the Tampa 2 defense does not warrant the Bills taking a CB that early. I see the draft going a few ways. Every one knows they need a big receiver early as in the 1st or 2nd round. Ideally, a trade with Minnesota who desperately needs a DE, down to #17 and still have the pick of any receiver you want or Say the heck with trades like the past 2 years when they "reached" for there current cornerstone players Lynch and Whitner and take the WR you want. or Take a talent like Harvey at #11, because the DE's are getting long in the tooth, just don't expect him to be the next coming of Bruce Smith, if he was he would be going in the Top 5. I accually think a DE early next year would be more viable. but CB in the 1st round, I just don't see it with this team. -
With that said why isn't this guy going #1. Are Long and Gholston that much better?

Allen Wilson thinks the bills will take.....

You it probably would be pretty cool to have the lead singer of "The Killers" on the team. -
So are you saying that all of those 5 receivers aren't worthy of the pick. Last time I check they were all rated to go in the first round (Kelly, Thomas, Sweed, Jackson, Hardy). I would be happy with any of those guys.
-
What about Devin Thomas, I think his stock is definately higher than Manningham and Jackson, and at the very least on par with Sweed, Kelly, and Hardy.
-
The best scenario in my opinion is to trade down and take a receiver. However, if they are high on someone like Devin Thomas take him at #11 similar to when they had to REACH for Marshawn Lynch. #2 WR is by far the most glaring weakness on this team. Get your TE/CB in the 2nd/3rd round. I personally like the scenario where we trade with Dallas for both of their picks, but would Jerry Jones do that if McFadden falls that far? Seems like a lot to give up for #11.

WR Devin Thomas and TE Kellen Davis

We could have a WR draft similar to Jacksonville when they took Reggie Williams (#9 pick 1st round) and Ernest Wilford (Round #4 pick #120) in 2004. -

Anyone notice on the first clip Turner plowing over the "80 million dollar man" -
San Diego must have thought enough of Turner to tender him the highest possible tender guaranteeing him 3.25 million. If they thought he was not a franchise type RB they would have tendered him for much less. To make a statement that "The Bills are NOT going to trade away a 1st round pick THIS YEAR, NEXT YEAR or ANY YEAR for Michael Turner" is ludicrious. None of us know what Marv and Jauron are thinking. Like the article in the Buffalo News stated, they may just be exploring every option.

Add Dallas and Jets to the Turner sweepstakes.

I was hoping for a 2nd and a 3rd (in different years). It looks like it will in fact take a draft pick this year and a first round next. They may opt to deal w/ Buffalo over the others only because the pick could be high next year. -
Good Adrian Peterson interview
timmyk12 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is a stud, but no way Cleveland lets him get by if they end of trading for Trent Green. -
I think the Bills will try to make a draft day deal basically to see if Peterson actually falls (which he probably won't). Once Peterson is taken, I think the Bills start talking. I don't think there is anyway the Bills move out of the #12 spot to switch first rounders with San Diego. A fair compensation would be this years 2nd rounder and Baltimore's 3rd rounder next season. An offseason adding Patrick Willis and Michael Turner would be damn good in my book.

After listening to Marv on Sirius today, he commented on how rookie RBs can adjust to the NFL the fastest (w/ QB and OL the slowest). I really don't think they will be in another veteran back with a lot of mileage on his body. I really believe that RB could very well be the first pick. If Willis is there, then that will make things very interesting.

Expect major criticism from...

In the long run, the defense should be better but for 2007? I am skeptical... No more Fletcher Spikes Clements That is a lot of leadership, class, and toughness gone from the team. The replacements: Willis (maybe) Ellison Youboty a lot of ifs in that group although Willis could be a stud... The 1st 2 picks better be LB/RB or RB/LB to fill those two gaping holes... -
No way anyone signs him...he will probably be cut in camp.
-
all gone

I personally liked the pick, because they were shooting for the moon. Unfortunatley, that shot didn't make it out of the backyard.
-
lynch...won't have to trade up to get him and he seems to be more versatile

Sign Chris Brown, draft Chris Henry
timmyk12 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chris Henry stunk in college...I agree that he is simply a workout warrior. -
I gave up on those guys months ago...I was going insane listening to them...now I listen to Sirius Radio and get a little bit more balanced view. (Some comments good, some bad...very few insane)
-
I think Willis WILL be an upgrade over Jamal Lewis, but you are mistaken in regards to compensation, the Jets deal equated to ONE 3rd round pick in the NFL draft value chart...the Bills received 2 thirds plus a 7th...
-
No way can anyone justify that Willis is an "above average back" He was extremely AVERAGE and wanted top rated money.
