  1. I'd also like to point out that on his best throw of the year, which was a long cross to Foster, where he hit him on the right hash, it was all arm- he did not reset his feet to the right, even with time. So we have clear examples of throws he's attempted to his right side, while pointed the other way.
  2. Well. That and if he won that game we have no idea what his record would have been, since he would've played in 5 other games, and we have no proof he would've learned as much in those games as he did sitting.
  3. Oh God. The Pats drafting Allen is my nightmare scenario. If Allen turns out to be as good as it seems he will be, could you imagine him sitting behind Brady and then stepping in in two years? We may as well just petition to leave the division.
  4. I think you're right. Hauschka isn't only known for his accuracy. His identity is probably more about his consistency on long FGs. Didn't he hold the record for most 50+ yarders made without a miss, and also most 54+ yarders made in a single game? I don't think you go from that to being physically unable to kick >40 yards for the rest of the season. He's not really old, either, so his leg can't suddenly be shot. It's GOT to be an injury.
  5. From DMB to Applebee's- you just GET people. Don't you?
  6. It always was for me. I'd rather hit a shallow cross to the left after it crossed my face than a quick slant to the middle while the route is still to my right. It didn't really matter for deeper throws when I had time to set my feet towards the throw. Beat me to it.
  7. Yes. Every year. For all of his failings, Buddy had some really solid fundamental views of building a team. And I totally agree- the need for a second corner was sort of a damper when we have so many other holes to fill on the O-line. It was particularly demotivating to realize that corner position was one of those classic Billsy glass-with-a-hole-in-the-bottom situations. I think we really got lucky with Wallace.
  8. I think we need to keep drafting secondary and trying to develop them. I'm not sure how (lack of reps comes to mind), but we have to find a way to consistently put out the current level of talent in the secondary, no matter who leaves, or gets injured, or old. A dominant secondary is a key piece to winning against today's QBs, and I want it to be an identity for us.
  9. Also that was a 35ish yard laser...on the run. Ridiculous play. What I'm seeing a lot with Allen, which is really frustrating, is that a lot of his decent-but-not-perfect throws are not being picked up by his receivers, and a portion of his routine, on the money throws are also being dropped. That drives down his completion percentage and kills drives, so that he's having to play a bit of hero ball. Too much of what I'm seeing is the same Josh Allen that I saw at Wyoming, because the team around him in Buffalo seems to be lacking the same type of talent in the same places. This may contribute to his unwillingness to take the throw to, say, a wide open Shady 15 yards down-field. Overall, Allen, himself, is really encouraging. Despite the constant train-wreck occurring around him on most plays, he seems to be improving in choosing his spots to run, and becoming more accurate from the pocket. He's also showing that he can take what the defense gives him, and throwing a few more high-percentage throws when he HAS TO. For instance- on the last drive against Miami he threw some shorter out routes and comebacks, which he doesn't generally take. ...But I don't think he takes those throws all game. I see what you're talking about with Peyton Manning in Josh, as well. He seems to be taking this time to really learn what's happening downfield, buy some time, and take his shots where he can. If he can get that down, and then hit a stopping point where we can say, "okay, we don't want to have to save the world on the last drive of every game anymore. Make sure we hold onto the ball," and start to naturally take a check-down when his clock goes off, that'll be really good. Of course, there's a lot more to that. He may already be thinking the latter, but because teams expect him to take those shots downfield, he's finding wide open lanes to run, which, with his speed, is perfectly acceptable, even when he has a few short routes open. So, going back to the Shady situation- maybe he didn't trust Shady because of my second paragraph, or he does trust Shady, but sees so much green ahead of him, he'd rather be guaranteed the first down and have an extra blocker in Shady, than waste all of the running room he has on a pass, which is always riskier than a run.
  10. This reminds me of Fitz and Gailey. Fitz always threw a lot of picks because he had a weak arm. BUT, his willingness to get the ball downfield, and trust his reads and his receivers is what's gotten him starting gig after starting gig, and it didn't happen that way until Buffalo. I remember hearing Gailey say that all he ever told Fitz was, "don't stop taking shots because you throw a few INTs. Trust what you see and release the ball." I always thought Tyrod would've benefited from a QB coach like Gailey.
  11. that's me in every relationship. it's okay. as long as we play nice when we're drunk we can get pretty far.
  12. I used to come here for that, but now that bbmb is here I have to pick and choose. Quoting yourself, in the same post no less, is solid work.
  13. Someone has to be. Too many crazies around here for my impressionable mind. I need an adult!
  14. Thank God for you. I thought I was missing out and starting to panic.
  15. One of the greatest things about TBD is the level of expertise you get here, as compared to BBMB. @WIDE LEFT is doing a fantastic job in this thread.
  16. What's the difference between a throw and a modern day throw?
  17. My feelings haven't changed from the moment I said, "I love you."
