  1. I was actually hoping that this thread was MADE today. That would've been outstanding work.
  2. Wow. Talley is a giant man for a linebacker from that era.
  3. I was just thinking that this guarantees Fitz a starting job in Miami. Not on opening day, of course.
  4. So I'm super-excited about this pick, and Oliver is a monster. He also looks like he's genuinely excited to be a Bill. That being said...I think a valid question is, "as this pick relates to our overall defense, did we really get better on D, or just replace Kyle Williams?" Oliver seems to have all the same traits- high motor, lightning quick off the ball, good technique, undersized. What's the difference that's going to make our D better than it was with Kyle?
  5. The best team in the league, for 20 years now, has the best offensive line, and a defensive line/line backers that clog the middle. They'll kill you in the air, while their QB has enough time to order Domino's and make a cappuccino, but they can also run right through you. Beating NE has always been about being stronger than them up the middle and playing fundamentally sound- think Ray Lewis's Ravens and Luke Kuechly's Panthers. Too many teams are willing to leave holes in those areas of the field, and it's so easy to scheme against that- think shallow crossers to Edelman all day because your MLB isn't good enough to cover. Take him off the field for a lighter coverage guy, and they run right at you.
  6. I like people that insult GMs based on single draft picks that never happened.
  7. So, adjust your zone to the projected routes of the receivers on your side, using common sense, like, don't just sit in your zone and watch the QB if your receiver goes vertical? Is that the gist?
  8. You're actually my hero. Because it's awful. F choices. I'm making them all Bills fans. Me. ...also me.
  9. He couldn't unseat Mills at RT, and we were all expecting that, and I remember him not being very good at RT because he was more awkward on that side. Maybe I'm blending him at Kuandjio together, though. Maybe Dawkins isn't horrendous on the right side, but he's better on the left.
  10. I keep seeing people say this. There are two options for Dawkins: Left Tackle, or Left Guard. He absolutely cannot play on the right side.
  11. The key is that one falls to him. He'd still be picking at value. But generally, if he didnt feel that, he would've signed one. That's the point- in BPA world you fill all holes in FA (put an average or better starter there) and then you really CAN go after BPA. In this case, even if you go for, say, a CB, and they pan out, why not? If they somehow become better than what you have, great, trade the other top-end CB. If they become really good, trade them, or replace an equal vet with their contract. Save money to pay your own, or acquire assets to get a guy who's BPA AND fills a need next year. Of course assuming you stick to the right value and can make trades, etc. I think straight BPA is absolutely feasible.
  12. This is all I could think when I looked at the photos.
  13. It's probably muddier than this. I think need and position comes into play on their board, but I also think it's overall value, and situation. I mean, the Bills might value OTs higher than other positions on their board, because of need, but the CB might be a generational talent, and is still going to be higher on their board, overall. Like, a 60 OT may become a 64, because of need, but the CB might be a 90. I think in the case the CB falls to them, they try to trade and get more picks, but if they can't, they take the CB.
