For the record, I started off having really high hopes for this young man's career. His return game was impressive in the early years at San Diego. As a cornerback his presence was initially menacing. However, as numbers rose in the INT column, questions rose in other areas. Many were surprised in the '09 playoffs when he politely gave Shonn Greene the right-of-way on a 53 yard scamper for six. Others saw it coming a mile away. He was reluctant to tackle. Even now, he seems to need help taking guys to the mat. -A problem he does not seem to have with the ladies. Generally, I think it best to stay out of players private lives. Cromartie, however, makes that principle hard to maintain. Nine babies from eight different women spread accross six different states is no longer a private matter. If a man can't respect himself enough to PROTECT himself, why should we bother? Then there's the Brady thing. I really struggled with this one because officially Brady is the enemy. I had to ask myself though: Did Tom really deserve to be called an a****ole? -By a 26 year old with eight kids, and seven baby-mommas? (the number has since increased.) It just didn't seem right. Recently, he pegged his old squad as "a team that can't finish" Something which they actually proved in the Monday night game @ KC. So he's off the hook for that one. Still, isn't "can't finsh" a tradition he helped establish by his lack of tackling with the Bolts? Some might say yes. I just wonder which Cromartie we'll see on Sunday? He plays well in outdoor stadiums, but has had zero INT's against us in three games. (Don't know how much he played in those games) If I'm Fitz though I'd watch out for him. I don't think we'll be throwing in the general direction of Revis, so that may free up Cromartie to make a big play. I think he STILL has that potential in his DNA. Trouble is, his DNA seems to be everywhere. As does his focus. Two factors which make this guy very hard to respect. What do you guys think?

Cincy is the most dangerous team out there. I say that because they show continuous improvement on a week to week basis. Defenssively they're stout. Offensively the Dalton-Green combo produces points, and BIG yardage. Someone needs to tell those two that they're rookies, because the seem to not know, -or not care. Kudos to Cincy. I'd hate to have to meet them in a playoff situation.

Hypothetical: Fred Jackson New Contract
#34fan replied to JuanGuzman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually think he's entitled to a portion of Fitz's Guaranteed money. Our offense would be NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING without Freddy thus far. He absolutely has to break those long runs to make up for Fitz's FIFTEEN step drops, and ten yard passes which only net two yard gains. Ridiculous. Lindell doesn't even make it into field goal range without Freddy's hard running. Pay the man? Seriously? -How about kiss the man's feet, and hope he graces us with his presence for at least one more season. I'd take Fred ANY DAY over Fitz's 59 million dollar arm, and $200,000 over-hyped education. I actually hope Fred is traded to the Pats next year for some overrated rookie. Then MAYBE you people would understand what he means to this team. I say "maybe" because a few of you hardcore beard-worshippers, probably still wouldn't get it. Too bad. Fred jackson is simply the best player on our football team. -
Fitz has agreed to 6yr 59Mill Contract
#34fan replied to buffalo1983's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not so sure of all the details in this contract. Many long-term deals are laced with performanced-based incentives. I seriously doubt that he'll collect on the whole 59 mil. Personally, I would've liked to see him perform in bad weather at least one more time before cashing him out like that. -
I think Good tight ends get open when their team needs them. Hernandez, Gronkowski, Gonzalez, just to name a few. Whether it was the sack that took us out of field goal range, or the two INT's, Fitz seemed distracted today. Not really focused on the game at all.
-
Kudo's to Chan for not letting the Giants D beat the crap out of Fred. We lose that guy, and that's our season. I really thought that last INT should have been a run play, but in the long view, it's just as well. Fitz will brush this off, and hopefully realize how important his position is to this team. Sometimes the best play is to throw the ball out of bounds.

Is there any doubt we need a FRANCHISE QB ?
#34fan replied to Reed'scatch83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don't throw a pass like that with that kind of field position in the fourth quarter. Not to a wide out. Maybe a little shovel pass, or something safe to a tight end, but that particular throw was just DUMB. And even if you do take that kind of a chance, you play it safe, by OVERTHROWING IT. If your guy doesn't catch it, no one else should either. -

Miami's Lamar Miller. THE MOST explosive runner in the ACC. Well worth offloading CJ Spiller. -
I don't mind his age at all, I just question the reliability of his hands. Seems like the dropsies are contagious sometimes, and I don't want dropped balls to be a tumor in the locker room. -Which brings me to my next point. The chemistry in our locker room is good right now. No sense bringing in some "salty" older guy who may or may not be happy with his new "arrangements". If it was at the beginning of the season, I'd be all for it. The guys would have had a chance to gel, and there'd be no awkwardness. So far I like what we've got. maybe sign another guy from the practice squad.

Gone have to start taking shots down field
#34fan replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the OP. This checking-down krap is for the birds. In the KC game, Fitz was zinging the ball around like an absolute madman. What happened? Maybe his finger really is hurt. All I'm saying is don't get Freddy beat up just because your finger's hurt. I totally hate myself for saying this, but if you have to, let pig-pen take some snaps to lessen the pressure. Somebody's gotta throw downfield. -
Giants.com calls Fitz "Fitzgerald"
#34fan replied to BobChalmers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't surprise me one bit. Outside of our fanbase, NOBODY cares about the guys on our roster. That's why I love what's happening with this team. Go ahead and ignore us, but do it at your own risk. I'd take a team of no-names that can play together over a team of spoiled, overrated millionaires, anyday. I really the hope fame doesnt go to the heads of this group. -
You know what? I honestly hope they DO get Luck. Dareus, and Williams need a fresh rookie to practice tee-ing off on! If there's anything left after that, it sure won't be enough to help Miami. Blame it on South Beach, The mega-hot babes down there, or whatever. Those Players simply cannot perform in that environment. All they can wish for is the return of the South Florida "cocaine" days. -At least that would dull the sting of their perpetual irrelevancy. Go ahead and draft Luck. It would be great for our division. As terrible as the Jets are playing right now, he could even end up there. Either way, one inescapable truth remains: Sooner or later, LUCK runs out.

If tuck and Jacobs are out for sure, then we really need to take advantage. We don't have anything that can stop Jacobs. And Fitz would normally be a sitting duck for um... Tuck. Anyways it could be a LONG day if Eli isn't subdued early. And by "sudued", I mean knocked on his azz. -Or Faceplanted. -Or swung in circles to the ground. How about all of the above? This is one of those games that could go either way. Still, If we show up to work like we did last week, We'll be extremely hard to beat.
-
For decades, the Phrase "scared to death" hasn't been mentioned in connection with the Miami Dolphins. Why start now? Because of Luck? Puh-lease. Anyone who thinks that ONE ROOKIE is going to change the culture in that locker room, must not have been paying attention for the past 25 years. The Dolphruits suck.

George Edwards needs to at least be demoted
#34fan replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Horrible, Horrible Idea. Keep the 'stache right where he is, coaching the LB's. I'd LOVE a pass rush, but I'm not sure I want all this ball-hawking to end. -

Joe B WGR: Did Trent turn down the Dolphins?
#34fan replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably offered him whatever the ghastly minimum wage is in Florida. Which, by the way is DOUBLE what he's actually worth. -
Man, everybody is picking the Eagles this week!!

That Cincy game really highlighted our need for Samoans. Maualuga and those other dudes rock. -
Please let the Dolphins sign him...
#34fan replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chad Henne isn't all that bad. I think he'd make a great Bills backup if the need ever arose. If the fins stay the course, I think they'll win more games. If they pick up a BUM like Trent, then they're an absolute LOCK for the Luck-Lotto. That'd be like us switching Fitz for Jamarcus Russell. -
I understand Chan is tryin to preserve his long-term value, but Smith is totally underutilized. His jets highlight reel showed what he was capapble of doing to the Bengals, Chan must not have watched it.

WITH #1 PICK MIAMI TAKES ANDREW LUCK
#34fan replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I were Luck, I'd pull an Eli Manning rather than play for the fish. Trade me or else. Something tells me that Indy and Pittsburgh are gonna be frontrunners for him anyway. -
Donald Jones will be fine. Plus Namaan has got some good hands too. What i worry about is Fitz having the guts to give these recievers a chance to bring down balls. By guts I mean confidence. He sure didn't show much confidence by sitting on the bench with his head in his lap yesterday.

I despise BOTH the Jets, and the Dolphruits. When we play these chumps, we can't tail off, like we did today. In all our wins thus far, we've used multiple receivers. Apparently, we only had TWO on the roster today. When Brad Smith was a Jet, he ran rough-shod all over the Bengals. Where was he today? In this league, there's no reward for cowardice. If you don't score, you can't win.
