  1. Chandler is expendable? -Yikes! He's one of the only guys I see fighting to bring down balls in traffic. I'd try to keep that guy if I could. Chandler has a competitive edge that's pretty eveident in his play. Still, if we keep Fitz, we'll definitely need to add ANOTHER TE. I was thinking of that kid Nick Provo from the 'Cuse.
  2. That's not how I remember it. Our secondary and LB's generated alot of turnovers early in the season. Also, Freddy was a rushing MACHINE. I think the combination of those two made Fitz look better than he actually is. If fitz was a better leader, he could have built a tradition of high expectations out of those early successes. To be fair, you could say the same thing about Gailey too.
  3. I was PISSED when she got ran over by the lincoln in Escape from NY. Barbeau's intangibles were pretty spectacular. She was deinitely one the finest broads of the seveties/early eighties. I mean they hung so perfectly. (her intangibles) Not too low, not too high. Gives me the shivers just thinking about them again. Thanks, man.
  4. DC Edwards is awful. You can run him and Gailey out of town on the same rail as far as I'm concerned. As far as building a great defense around a seviceable QB, I think that's very hard to do. You need a great FO, and even then you have to get really lucky. As it stands now, Fitzpatrick is playing much closer to Trent Edwards than Trent Dilfer.
  5. Harrell sucks. I wouldn't mind Flynn though. He's got a nice arm, and he's (pretty) accurate. Could turn into a decent starter.
  6. Coach John Fox used a phrase in a press conference last week that's really starting to grow on me. That phrase was "competitive greatness" I'm not sure if it was coined first by ex-UCLA coach John Wooden or someone else, but I really like it. Part of the definition of "competitive greatness" is being at your best when your best is needed. Tim Tebow has shown that while he may not be the best QB stat-wise, he'll be there when his team needs him most. His defense will persevere, and fight for him because they KNOW at some point, Timmy will come through. Can anyone say the same thing about Fitz-spastic? The only thing our defense can count on with Fitz is him going three-and-out, or throwing an INT at the WORST possible time. Still, there's a question as to why Fitzy is like this. -There shouldn't be. Tim Tebow played in what is arguably THE MOST competitive conference in college football. He played for the best, and most competitive coach in the game at the time. Tim Tebow prevailed at that level not once, but twice, playing in two National Title games with the Gators. Both of which, they won. Clearly, school and conference pedigree can have a lot to do with manifesting competitive greatness. What about Alex Smith? A few years prior to Tebow's success, He also won a National Title, with the same ultra-competitive coach that Tebow had in Florida. Why does he suck now? Simply put, Alex Smith's college success was a product of Meyer's competitive greatness as a coach. Despite the fact Smith played in a woeful conference, Meyer provided Smith with insight, confidence, and consistency. Three things that Smith never had in his pro career. That is, until now. As a College QB Jim Harbaugh was the epitome of competitive greatness. Again, Harbaugh played in a very competitive division, for an Apex competitor in Bo Schembechler. Although Harbaugh's pro career was a mixed bag, he actually made it to an AFC Championship game in 1995-1996, but lost a close one to the Steelers. Harbaugh is a guy who knows the position, and gives Smith the benefit of every mistake he's ever made. Once again, Smith is imparted with greatness he doesn't posess himself. To be fair, a few personnel moves on the defensive side of the ball, worked out for San Fran as well. Still, Smith has been managing games well, and hasn't been making mistakes to deflate his team. So what about Fitzpatrick? Let's see, he comes from a conference where math-letes and football players compete for tee-times at the local golf course. He honed his football skills under the great Tim Murphy (who?) Former linebacker of Springfield College, the "Birthplace of basketball" (long story) To make matters worse, the Bills have a Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator on his fourth HC job who calls plays from a thirty year old playbook! Not to mention a coaching staff that seems disinterested (at best) in winning games. Forget greatness. Our inability to compete at a fundamental level is a problem that can ONLY be addressed by major personnel changes. Oh, but so-and-so is hurt! and whats-his-face in banged up. Injuries-Schminjuries! If this team is ever going to be good, the excuse-making has got to stop now. IMO We need two things immediately: 1)A head coach (and staff) that can motivate, teach, and develop competitive talent. 2)A QB who can deliver in adverse situations. Right now we have neither.
  7. I don't see Peyton going anywhere. There's no better guy to help groom a rookie QB. Luck has talent, but he hasn't developed into the genuine article yet. I expect Peyton with help with this process.
  8. I think everyone on this board knows how I feel about Fitz and his fabulous face-fro. Let me put it another way.... BRING ON RG3.
  9. I'll mention cutting him without as much as a second thought. In the best interest of the team, we need to off-load all the dead weight. Especially dead weight that could end up costing tens of millions. Fitz is not a good QB. Period. He will never win anything wherever he goes. He's so bad that if we cut him, he may not even get picked up by anyone else. If anyone does take a chance on him, they'll regret it soon after. Fitzpatrick is not elite. He's not great. He's not good. On his best day, he's barely mediocre. Mostly though, he's just terrible. He throws a wobbly ball with a trajectory that either sails it high, or drives into the ground. Time to turn the page. Fitz, If you ever shave that disgusting beard, you'd make a great addition to some franchise's front office. -Preferrably not ours though. GO BILLS! RG3 in 2012!!!
  10. Typical Chan/Fitzpatrick apologists. When will you people get it? This Okey-Dokey crap from fans will never build a great Franchise. What's wrong with demanding more from the team you support? You gotta love the Denver fans for taking their team's destiny into their own hands. They were staring at 1 and 4, and TOOK ACTION. They didn't say "oh well, maybe next year". They didn't accept any ten-year re-building plans from their GM and HC. They wanted to win right NOW, and they let everyone know it. TEE-BOW! TEE-BOW! If we're going to break outta this twelve-year funk, we can't be afraid to hurt some people's feelings. Chan is an awful playcaller, and Fitz is, at best, a mediocre QB. It's Time for another round of statement-firings in B-lo. IMO All Billievers have a right (and a responsibility) to be in an uproar over this horribly disappointing season.
  11. As do we all. Still, I cannot imagine rooting for anyone else. Maybe soon we'll get a new owner (one that won't move us to L.A.)In the meantime, I guess we're srewed. All we can do is piss, moan, and start threads on who needs to be fired. Maybe the future will bring better things for this organization. Kinda hard to see things getting worse. GO BILLS!
  12. Fitzpatrick behaves, and plays like a guy ten years older than he is. No one needs a degree in psychology to see that. I think poor coaching is the problem on our defense, as opposed to a lack of talent. And while both Bradford and Newton lead teams with horrible records, there is "hope" for the future. Bradford did surprisingly well in is rookie season, and Newton improves exponentially every week that he plays. No, you can't pursuade me that Fitz is worth one-tenth of the money he has on the table. Just like no matter how many bad passes, INT's or 3-and-outs he gets you won't accept the fact that Fitz isn't the future of this franchise. As for the prozac, well, you may wan't to keep some for yourself. You'll need it to console yourself when you realize that the leader you've put so much faith in is a SHAM.
  13. Well, I agree with you about Von Miller. The kid is like a bowling ball in that 4-3. I honestly thought we were going to grab him at #3 last year. As for Tebow, how can you argue that he hasn't had a profound psychological effect on the way that entire team plays? He're's a few things to consider: 1)Prior to today's Vikings game , Denver's defense had not allowed more than 13 points in their last 3 games. 2)Denver's "D" has only allowed 1 4th quarter TD in the last 5 games. 3)The Broncs have not allowed a rushing TD during Tebow's last 6 victories. For whatever reason, Tebow's guys on both sides of the ball are playing for him. He's given those guys a spark that can't easily be quantified. All I'm saying is that it'd be great if we had a hungry young player to push our young guys to higher heights. That bearded, depressed, father of three we have as a signal-caller sure as hell can't do it. Sure, Fitz can perfom the basic fuctions of his position, but can you honestly call him hungry? -If 59 million dollars can't motivate a guy, then what can? You seem like a rational guy, hope. It's time to turn the page on Fitzpatrick. He'll never do anything as a starter in this league EXCEPT bring his entire team down. GO BILLS! RG3 in'12!
  14. Ditto, buddy, ditto! RG3 or bust in 2012!!!!
  15. Whay are you drafting a 3-4 OLB, when we're (supposedly) commiting to the 4-3?
  16. Agreed. They're all playing like a bunch of sissies.
  17. Tell you what... We'll BOTH visit Denver, or Cincinatti, and ask them how that's working out.
  18. As a die-hard bills guy, I'm starting to accept the fact that this team will go nowhere as long as it's coached by Chan, managed by Buddy, and owned by Ralph. We'll suck until there's a significant shake-up in the FO. Having said that, A young talented QB might provide the lift that could pave the way for more substantial changes going forward.
  19. Brad Smith is a Quarterback. He can also run like the wind when he wants to. The now extict "wildcat" is a misuse of his natural talents. He should be used to return kicks, and in QB draw plays. He's a great change of pace for our offense.
  20. +1 This team is turning into a meat grinder for young talent. We need a new owner, badly. (One that won't move the team.)
  21. Nope. Sorry. There are just too many talented young QB's in the draft NOT to grab one of them. If Peyton Manning's team is looking to the future, then why shouldn't we? I see no reason to believe that Fitz will ever win a dam thing. -Bring on RG3.
  22. Whats happening in San Diego is totally not Norv's fault. -Like a lot of teams the Bolts have been plagued with injuries. Especially to their O-line, McNeil, Dielman, Mruzckowski, -Gates has a turf toe that's an on-again/off-again situation. Yah six years ago, the Bolts were a playoff team WITH AN OFFENSE INSTALLED BY NORV TURNER! Still, they couldn't win in in the playoffs under Schottenheimer. They went 14-2, only to get embarassed by the Patriots at home. Then there was the constant tension between Schott and A.J. Smith. That's REALLY why Smith fired him. That, and the fact that all his coordinators from the previous winning season got better jobs. Wade Phillips, Cam Cameron, Greg Manusky (Linebackers coach) all LEFT. Despite those coaching losses, in '07 Norv took the Bolts to their first playoff win since '94! Then backed it up with another playoff win the following season! This simply isn't the same team Norv inherited four years ago. -There's no Tomlinson, No Sproles, and Gates is always hurt. Then Norv had to deal with the lockout and getting guys ready after that. Last season, the Bolts had the #1 offense with a corp of recievers that nobody ever heard of!. Is it now Norv's Fault That Phil Rivers has thrown 17 interceptions? How quickly people forget. I guess it's also Norv's fault that Ryan Matthews is a Fumbling MACHINE. -Nonsense! Of course they'll scapegoat Norv, and get rid of the main reason that the Bolts have had ANY success in the last ten years. WHATEVER. I'm no Charger fan, but GET A LIFE, Norv Haters. I'd be ecstatic if he took a job in B-lo.
  23. Yep. It's totally a culture of douche-baggery in California. American Football hooliganism. at it's best. I'm going to the game in SD, and I'll definitely be watching my back.
  24. I've TRIED to hate Tom Brady, I really have. The guy is just SO good at what he does. He knows how to motivate his players, and he's an absolute GENERAL on the field. I'm not by any means a fan of his, but Brady is alright by me. -Don't hate the player, hate the scoreboard.
  25. Absolutely not. I do, however feel slightly embarassed after I punch-out morons who ask me this question. -That's mostly for my wife though.
