Two wins v.s. Patriots would make this a good year
#34fan replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Two wins v.s. Patriots would make this a good year" -Chuckknox More like two good wins in YET ANOTHER lousy year. -
No way. Braylon Edwards is a head-case and will NEVER make it in B-lo. Let's focus on getting Stevie, and Namaan where they need to be, and getting a QB in here that can throw to them. Offensively, our playcalling is CRAP. Our offense simply cannot score points consistently. Keeping Gailey (If that's what we do) should involve limiting his playcalling role. If the Bolts mess up and fire Norv, we should offer him the OC gig. He probably won't come here, but it's worth a try. Unlike Chan, Norv Turner is a true Genius when it comes to Offenses. Arguably, the second most important missing peice is a genuine PASS RUSH. This is an area where we've been just AWFUL. We managed to razz Tebow, and John Beck, but those aren't exactly names a defense should hang their hats on. We need a new Strength & conditioning coach, and a new 4-3 DC in here, by spring OTA's. Also, while re-tooling our D, we should make some changes in the secondary too. Byrd ain't the word, and Dray hasn't exactly performed like a doctor lately. We should off-load those two any way we can and start re-building that entire unit.

Refs are intentionally miscalling games

LOL! What did I expect, on Christmas night. I wish you less bitterness and misery in 2012, SD. Sounds like you've had a really rough year. -
Refs are intentionally miscalling games

It's an easy way for these refs to make a quick 30 or 40 Grand. I'm not sure what the spread was, but the money line bet could have been something like Colts +300 to win outright. -Thats 300 bucks for every 100 you bet (plus your hundred back.) So you stand to make 400 on a 100 dollar bet. Now, turn that hundred-buck bet into ten grand. Keep in mind that you're the guy who interprets the game RULES. -You've been watching these, spoiled, overpaid, babies make millions playing a GAME, and watching greedy owners rake in BILLIONS in revenue. All you have to do is make a few terrible calls to manipulate the outcome in your favor? Who loses? Not the owners or the players. They already made their fortune. Yah, the fans are pissed, but so what? -they'll get over it. You fly back to Vegas & cash in a bet for forty large. Sure, you feel a little guilty at first, but when you and the missus are spending the offseason in St Croix, it'll all seem worth it. Don't think it can happen? Absolute power corrupts absolutely. NFL and NBA refs included. -
Yah, it was pretty positve defense-wise. That's why I support firing Edwards after next week's game, instead of on Monday morning.

Pure. Madness.

Spiller has had just TWO good games. I'm not anywhere near sold on this kid. Fred has been our most productive back. Period. He's proved his value as a runner time and again. He has won my confidence, and should have won all of yours as well. PAY THE MAN! He's worth it. Fred is far better at 30, than Spiller was at 22.

Merriman, Parrish, players "wanting to stay" with their team/c
#34fan replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not at all. I just felt like the guy was washed up. Still do. -
I wouldn't mind Riley Reiff. But what good is giving a guy more time, if all he'll do is throw more picks with it. We need a signal-caller REAL BAD.

I don't see the Browns passing on RG3

#34fan replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, It's a call. I stand by it. Even if Merriman starts next season healthy, he'll be gone by game 6. Guaranteed. Btw, I called it this year too. But whatever. If the FO wants to get taken for another season let them go right ahead. Sucks though to see our fanhood get taken for rubes by this guy. -

But he won't be healthy. Not this season, next season, or ANY season. How washed-up do players have to get before we show them the door? I don't think our FO should let past greatness be a guide for retaining talent. In today's NFL, it's not about what you've done. It's not about what you've done lately. It's about what you can do TODAY. When it comes to Shawne Merriman, that appears to be NOTHING. I don't see the point in allowing ourselves to be strung-along by a greedy guy so obviously past his prime. -
Defense gives us no chance to win...

Yah, those child-support payments would probably get him fired up a little bit too. -

Fitz is a joke. But whatever. Jim harbaugh is clearly the hero in this scenario. He's really taken Alex Smith under his wing. To Smith's credit though, he's proved that he won't completely squander all his teams possesions. He'll be there with the run support no matter who's on the mound. Harbaugh has really changed the culture of his team. Funny what a good head coach will do for an organization. -
The Hidden Reason For The Lost Decade
#34fan replied to ICanSleepWhenI'mDead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Um. Okay... So you're saying IF we can introduce Fitz to some hottie, and subsequently get him laid, the resulting divorce may indirectly increase his level of play, and competitive drive. Hm... I'd be totally for it, if it weren't for one small thing. Fitz has the personality of creeping mold. Face it, this mathlete won't be on the "prowl" for anything but textbooks on Keynesian economics. All Fitz would do in the club, is scare away all the strange with his disgusting beard. Nobody would get lucky. And think about this: Even if you managed to hook this nerd a piece of wild snapper, what the heck would he do with it anyway? -If his skills in the sack are anything like his skills in the pocket, there'd be problems. 1) No movement whatsoever. 2) Problems staying upright. 3) Can't hit the obvious target. 4) Does his thing really quickly before he turns the field over to someone else. If Fitzpatrick is as smart as people say, then he's THANKFUL for his wife Liz, or Eliza, or whatever her name is. She ain't too bad lookin', and she seems like a nice girl. Would he play more competitively as a bachelor? Probably. But not that much more compettitively. Personally, I'd rather just CUT the guy than wreck his home. -
Gotta stop you right there, chief. Put the crack-pipe down and step away from it before you really hurt somebody. NO WAY does CJ have one-quarter of the talent Freddy has developed over the years. CJ can't catch to save his life, and forget about running between the tackles. Simply put, CJ is bait for dumb GM's. -I'm all for Chan making him look as good as possible, so we can trade him for an actual football player. As far as I'm concerned, the guy is teats on a bull.

"Can't think of anything more illogical and reactionary than listing the leagues elite QB's and summarily proclaiming them good fits for our offense. I mean wtf??? I know you're only 25, but that's just pathetic. I can totally believe you've been watching this board for a very long time. Scanning the poular threads, -guaging reactions. You bided your time and came up with the most lazy, benign, and non-confrontational thread imaginable. Way to walk into a room on your knees, kid. You'll have a nice life here at TBD agreeing with all the homers and (most of)the mods. That's a pretty safe course. Me? I call a spade a spade." In reference to the first-timer, this is what the young man said to me: "Very reactionary as well ad reaching illogical conclusions here. Is fits the QB for 10 years absolutely not. Does he make head starching mistakes you betcha. Is he better than anyone in Buffalo since Flutie, yup. And your missing the bigger picture NO QB that the Bills draft could flourish with this roster. NONE period, we have starters that we be practice squad players anywhere else. Get better overall talent, thus putting a QB we draft maybe 2 years from now in a better position to succeed. It's a QB driven league sure, but complete teams win titles." So you see, he called me illogical first. Still I Didn't want to hurt the millenial too badly. Hey, Wherever you are corey g, Happy holidays man! -Be safe. May the New Year bring you all the things you want. I mean that. -#34fan

At the end of the day, I'm ok with whatever was said to me by whoever on this board. Don't worry I can take it. One of the things that's great about this board is that we're all fair game. At the same time we're all fans. Which to me trumps every difference we may have -Happy holidays San Jose. And happy new year.
-
Hey! I resemble that remark! -FYI, I spike my egg nog with Irish Whiskey thank you very much!
-
Happy holidays to everyone here at TBD! This was my first season as a poster, and I really, really apreciate the tolerance shown by everyone on this board. I pulled a lot of useful info out of TBD, and I've enjoyed my discussions with other fans. Believe it or not, I'm working on becoming a better poster. San Jose and Bowery4 were awful to me sometimes, but hey... That's fanhood for ya! I wanna wish everyone a safe holiday season, and happy new year! STAY OFF THE ROAD IF YOU'RE WASTED! GOOOOOOOOO BILLLLLS!

Official Bills Dolphins game thread

Fitz did something great today, bro. He brought us closer to drafting his replacement. Thanks Fitzy. -
He really does. I wouldn't mind a little Martyball over the Chan-man. There's stuff about Marty Schotttenheimer that I don't really like. His handling of the Drew Brees situation for example. Still, he has an eye for talent, and a reputation for discipline. Ralph wouldn't do it, but I'd definitely be on board if he did.

Case Keenum, QB - University of Houston
#34fan replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From Miami? You mean Jacory Harris? Please, don't make me LMFAO buddy. That kid is a HEAD CASE. Trust me, you don't want to touch him in any round. He's a more spoiled and tempermental version of Vince Young. -Minus the arm strength. I'll take Lamar Miller off Miami's hands though. That kid runs like a quarter-horse. With Freddy getting up there, and Spiller sucking. we'd do well to solidify the run game in rounds three or four.
