even at 35, Fitz's arm can't handle Moss' speed. it would never work out.
-
Sorry Mr. Rooney. Hard sometimes to separate the player from the name of his home field. Serves me right for late-night posting. Btw, Stevie Johnson has shown himself to be VERY immature, and selfish on several ocaisions. I also agree that at times, he has been ridiculous, and insulting to his coach, teammates and fans as well. I never said he sucked. I think our entire corp of recievers could pick up a lot from HINES Ward. I would only hire him on the condition that he share his experience, and mentor these young men. Hey, It may not work out. Still, as a former Steeler guy, I would think Chan would be inclined to give it a try.
-
Is that how you teach your kids? Have them watch films? -Books? You don't have to be in front of their face for them to learn from you, right? They probably wouldn't pick up a thing from you actually talking to them, or heaven forbid, getting the chance to observe you in action, no way. And I agree, Calvin Johnson is very good. -Can't argue with that. As is Fitzgerald, Jackson, Boldin and Moss. But how many rings do those guys have between the five of them? -NOT ONE. T.O.? Same thing. -NO JEWLERY! We root for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in twelve years. We have young recievers engaging in some of the most selfish, juvenile, and unprofessional behavior in the league, and you're telling me, the presence of a fourteen year veteran, and two-time superbowl champ would be unwelcome? Wow. Look, I know these guys aren't exactly kids, but in a way they are. -They're still learning... Processing... figuring things out. Although Heinz Ward is FAR from being perfect, he has a value that goes beyond his production on the field. He has the unique perspective, and preparation of a champion. If it were possible, and up to me, I'd want my young players to be exposed to that.
-
Really? It's Heinz Ward, people. -Not some bum who fell off the back of a cabbage truck. This is a professional. A veteran. -A man with jewlery. I would think that a wealth of information would come with a guy like that. We got kids giving their girlfriends game-balls, kids writing messages on their T-shirts... re-enacting shootings... There's no standard... No example for these kids to follow. If they cut him, and he's willing to come on board for cheap, I'd take him in a second. How are these young guys ever going to be great, if they don't study greatness?
-
Sorry, if this has been posted before. I think Hines Ward would be a great pickup for this team. We have a bunch of young guys that could really use a mentor. Here's the story from ESPN My link Any interest?

I LOVE the Pead pick. I followed him at Cincinatti, but I never thought he'd fall to round 5. Not so sure about Russell Wilson. He has tremendous ability, but he may be a bit on the short side. My favorite of your picks is, of course, Mercilus. People were projecting he'd be there in the second, hopefully he'll be there after we WASTE a #10 pick on Upshaw, who seems like more of a 4-3DT, than 4-3DE.

Oh, I'm not a fan? -Clearly, you're the one who hasn't watched any games this season. Fitz is not very accurate. He's a stat-padder. He throws these little four yard completions that don't go anywhere, and ends drives three and out. When he does try throwing anything downfield, it's either high, low, or right into the hands of a defender. (see Giants game) LOL, He gets rid of the ball quickly? (see above comment) This next one takes the cake, though... "HE IS GOOD AT LOOKING AWAY FROM HIS INTENDED RECIVER" Ha!,-ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha!!! In eight years, If it's one thing Fitz has mastered, its the reciever Stare-down. He's gotta be one of the easiest guys in the league to pick off. Dude, not only are you new to the Bills, but you must also be new to football. Maybe you'd be better critiquing another sport. -Like girl's high school soccer.
-
Can Lin Catch? -Throw? Let's bring him in, and give him a look.
-
Yah, I guess she had a great run, but this is still awful news. My heart goes out to her family. R.I.P. Whitney...Btw, BEST ANTHEM RENDITION EVER.
-
Say what you want about Eli, he's making the most of his opportunity. He's faced some brutal critcism from the New York media, and he's made good. Personally, I think Eli looks like a thiteen year old girl, and throws like he's wearing a girdle. Still, he's delivering the goods on time. Can anyone say the same thing about Fitz? I hope we re-vamp our D, and get a couple of good recievers. That way, Fitzpatrick's many shortcomings will finally be exposed.
-
I don't think I need code to plug DeCastro. I do believe Ingram is a situational pass rusher, but even if he turns out to be great 4-3DE, guys get tired. Persisitent three-and-outs get old even for the stoutest of defenses.

Buffalo has to be able to defeat New England if it ever expects to win the AFC East. A big part of that is dealing with the Gronk. Watching him at the Combine is high on my to-do list. If he does as expected and both he and Coples are there for Buffalo at #10, Buffalo will need every second of those fifteen minutes. True. But we also need to be able to defeat NYJ, and MIA. Both of whom SWEPT us this season. I use the word "swept" here, but the truth is that they both kicked our a$$es handily. I think we need to focus on scoring points first and foremost. Unless Ingram can throw, catch, or block, I want nothing to do with him in the first round. -NOTHING. I really like the Wannstedt promotion, but I don't think he'll have all the answers in the first year. In the meantime, I'd like for us to be able to 1)MOVE THE CHAINS and 2)Get in the end-zone. YES, we need a pass-rush. YES, Melvin Ingram is talented, but NO he can't be successful if he's always on the field. Personally, I'd prefer Illinois DE Whitney Mercilus, -a kid who made his mark by creating tons of turnovers, and forced fumbles. Mercilus has those long, wrap-around arms, and a relentless motor. That's truly the spark a defense needs. -A turnover specialist. As opposed to just raw speed and athleticism.

All Peyton Manning, all the time!

The guy's got a family. If he were to risk his long term health in a d@#k-contest with his little brother, he'd be an IDIOT. I think Peyton bows out gracefully. -
If Evans gets cut do you want him back
#34fan replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe. But only if the equipment manager could really use the help. -
I may be reaching a bit, but I'm also envisioning a Bills offense that can pound the rock with authority for the next 6-10 years. I totally accept the fact that no one here agrees with me. I just wanted people to see the impact this kid was having on games in a pro-style offense. He really plays at a high level.

I disagree. protection was an issue throughout the season. I also think that Fred is such a talented, and instinctive runner, that he made the most of of opportunities a lesser back would have missed. It also seems like Chan and Lee aren't letting this wildcat thing die. I would think that having aggressive, intelligent, guys up front would improve their luck with this impossibly cheesy formation. I'm not at all impressed with our o-line. I think it lacks (among other things) a standard-bearer. Dave DeCastro doesn't quit, and he understands his job. I seriously doubt he would have been protecting the most valuable player in college football if it were otherwise.
-
Like where? and Specifically, like who? For the love of king and country, please don't say another dang-blasted cornerback.
-
I've been villified for suggesting we take a guard at #10 overall, but If RG3 isn't doable then why not? Our run game was dominant in the early part of the 2011 season, so why not build on that with some sound run-blocking? Plus if we end up sticking with Fitz, couldn't he use a little help up front? My only knock on DeCastro is that he could use an extra 20 lbs of muscle. Other than that, #52 is a MACHINE. Check out and sound off.
-
Cool! That means we have a shot at Dave Decastro! EXCELLENT RUN-BLOCKER. Let's get it done, FO! OFFENSE IS THE NEW DEFENSE!!!!!! 1)Dave DeCastro, OG Stanford 2)Whitney Mercilus, DE Illinois 3)Rishard Matthews, WR Nevada 4)Nate Potter, OT Boise State 5)Nick Provo, TE Syracuse 6)Don't Care. 7)Could give a crap.

Wifey stands up for poor wittle Tom Tom
#34fan replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the end of the day, Brady is still a gazillionaire-three-time superbowl champ married to a frickin' supermodel. I think he'll pull through. -
Eli is FAR from a football god. The play that won him the superbowl was the first-quarter safety, courtesy of the Giants D. It's no secret that Manning is blessed to have defensive playmakers that know how to lead, and "step-up" when their season is on the line. To be fair, Eli has some of the best recievers on the planet. Eli also has the accuracy, and sound mechanics to get the ball to those recievers without incident. Two things cost us that game at NYG. One was poor performance by the secondary. -(In particular Drayton Florence.) The other was TERRIBLE QB PLAY. Interceptions, badly underthrown balls, -take your pick. FITZ STUNK. I firmly believe that Fitz doesn't have what it takes to get this team to the next level. That's an opinion. I could be wrong. So, why don't we just find out? Bring in someone for Fitz to compete against for the starting job. REAL COMETITION. Either a talented rookie, or an experienced, free agent. Let him struggle, and face some adversity for once. Then, and only then will we discover the real Ryan Fitzpatrick.
-
Please, not Tanneyhill. I'm not crazy about Weeden, but I'l take him over the tan-man anyday. It'd be great if we went after Matt Flynn, but then what OC would he work with? -Gailey? I'm not at all impressed with this Dave Lee character. IMO, even if we do get a new QB, I think we'll keep sucking as long as Chan juggles two jobs.
-
That's what I thought too at first. I mean, I still think it was very dooshworthy thing to do. Still, The more I thought about it, the more the RUSE became evident. Typical Belichick. Not only is he playing the worthless distraction angle, he's using Chad Ochocinco as the perfect DECOY. If I were the NYG, I'd be looking out for Deion Branch. I don't see Tom Brady, or Bellichick trusting their legacies to number 85! Well played Bill. Well played.
-
Poor kid's been cut by those dooshbags three times this season. Pretty damn despicable if you asked me.
-
I want to believe that, but I just can't bring myself to do it. -Last draft, 7 of our 9 picks were defensive positions Then there's the history of Poz, Maybin, and Kelsay. To be honest, I'm at the point where I'm wondering if anything happens in our coaching process that arrests the development of seemingly talented players? I can't say for sure what's wrong, but I think our coaching methods, and philosophies need to be re-evaluated from top to bottom. Think Buddy would spring for a Tony Robbins seminar?
