I don't think I'll miss LeVitre or Byrd terribly. Fred, on the other hand....
-
No. But I can hook you up with Betty white, and Joan Rivers? Maybe it's just me, but after the Peyton thing went down, I look around the league, and I see no sacred cows. The exceptions to that, of course, being Tom Brady, and Eli Manning. pretty much everyone else can either be cut or Traded. I would think that a pickup like Floyd would be worth it to a team who's number one reciever is just one tweak away from being officially labeled "injury prone" If you're the Niners, your'e taking the Chance that Johnson isn't injury prone, but just in case that proves true, you have the safety of a high pick to offset it. Having another big, fast, target for Alex Smith could be worth it to a team that already has a stud TE in Vernon Davis. Could you imagine that tandem? As for us, imagine Aldon Smith playing DE in our front 4? or shift him to OLB in this hybrid crap we fool with sometimes. -Next to Dareus, and Williams, that'd be terrifying. But like I said, it's fantasyland. Speculation on LSD. Just something to dream about while your watching march madness, and having a few cold ones.
-
Okay, I admit, throwing a 2nd rounder in there is high. -I edited it out. What if Floyd is there @ 10? -And don't forget, you still have Jacoby Jones, Iglesias, and Arian Foster. Of course, it's fantasyland, but given what's happened in the last 48hrs....
-
Good question. Personally, I find Johnson's injury history worrisome. I figured with the 10 pick they could grab an OT, or a stud reciever. With Foster healthy they're still a great offense.
-
This wouldn't happen in a million years, but It'd be sweet for Bills nation. We Get: Aldon Smith, and Colin Kaepernick We Trade: Our #10 pick to Houston Houston Gives: Andre Johnson, plus a third rounder next year to the Niners. Come on. It's even money that OBD will blow the ten pick anyway. The Niners need help at reciever, and Houston is literally one guy away from being conference title contenders. IF this were possible, and you were GM, why wouldn't you do it? -Commence fire.

Most Important Position to Fill

Leodis is a great athlete but he's kind of a jack-of-all-trades. -Another talented guy we just couldn't develop. I think all you have to do is watch last season's Dallas game to see how AWFUL our secondary was. I'd prefer it though, if we addressed that through free agency rather than the draft. I don't see how adding more inexperience to that unit will help. I agree wholeheartedly on the quarterback issue, but we'll have to let Fitzophilia run it's course. -It shouldn't take long. Like i said in a previous post, BPA @ #10 (Unless it's Trent Richardson) -
Most Important Position to Fill

I say DE/pass rush, but with a caveat. Just because we draft a successful college passrusher, doesn't mean our front 4 will be able to generate pressure up front in pro games. It all depends on what the 'Stache comes up with. I'm a big Mercilus fan, but I'd love for a veteran like Freeney or Williams to get in here, and show the youngsters how it's done. That won't happen. -at least not with Williams. So at #10 we should probably just grab the BPA. -
Rams, Redskins make a deal for the #2 pick

Take notes, OBD. -This is what franchises that are serious about winning do. This will probably go down as the "All In" move of the decade. BIG things will be expected from Griffin (or Luck) in a relatively short period of time. With the right pieces in place, whichever kid is picked at two should be fine. -
Of course I know about Modkins. He's useless. It's clear the offense operates under Chan's direction, and overall philosophy. Do you really think all the "wildcat" crap is coming from Modkins? As I recall, Chan was the guy pointing to the clipboard, chewing-out Fitz every time he eff'd up (which was often) Either way, I think a young, energetic, forward-thinking OC or QB's coach (like Yost) could be good for this offense. Even with the expected college to pro learning curve adjustment, I would expect good things from Yost.

Yah, that's WAY too scary. At that depth, what's the likelihood of getting a rescue if stuff goes wrong? -It's freezing, there's no sunlight, and the pressure exerts enough force to crush you like a soda can. Hats off to guys like Richard Branson and James Cameron. They're both really good at pushing things to the limit.

Acquiring young talent is vital for NFL franchises. Fresh legs can do wonders for a team on both sides of the ball. So what about the coaching staff? Specifically the offensive staff? I think there were times last season where OC/HC Gailey looked completely lost. At other times his playcalling was so predictable that we couldn't move the chains. A youth injection could be the answer and I may have found a guy who fits the bill. Check him out here. My link Not sure if he's ready to be corrupted by the NFL, but were I an aging GM, I would at least bring him in for a meeting. He's done some notable things with some names that might sound familiar. Could be a catalyst for change. -Any interest?

This was a bad hire. I can't find any runaway successes anywhere on Lee's resume. Sounds to me like another one of Chan's buddies needed a cushy Job. I don't believe Lee can improve Fitz's accuracy one iota. I don't believe that ANYONE can improve Fitz's accuracy. I hope i'm wrong, but it seems to me that this guy is another monkey-wrench thrown into the works. If anything, he'll make our offense suck even more. Here's a name you may be hearing in NFL circles soon. Dave Yost University of Missouri Quarterbacks coach, and OC. Check out the link, and then tell me this guy doesn't sound like MONEY. Somebody PLEASE clue Chan in on this fella!

BEST MOVE OF 2012!!! -So far. I look for Chandler to have a breakout year. GO BILLS! That seems kinda messed-up, dontcha think? -Let's give him the security right now, so he goes into the season with a full head of steam.

All Peyton Manning, all the time!
#34fan replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that Manning is ultra-competitive. But I'm not so sure he'll feel the same way in a brand new environment. I mean the guy practically picked out the drapes at Lucas Oil Stadium. He IS Indianapolis Football. Plus, he's not blind. He's seen what's happened to other legendary QB's that didn't know when to pull the ripcord. -NOTHING GOOD. I think the big picture, at this point, may be his long-term health prognosis coupled with his ability to enjoy life after football. I don't see him risking that for anything other than a DUMP TRUCK full of money. -And in the end, that STILL may not be enough. My opinion? Peyton is a guy who's given MUCH to the game of football. Too much, I think, to finish his career on a sour note. He'll pose for the camera. -Go through the motions. But by this fall he'll be retired, and looking forward to Canton. I can't really see a better endgame for him. -
All Peyton Manning, all the time!

Peyton on another team? -Ha! I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think Manning will start another regular season NFL game for anyone. Think about it... How does one go from essentially being a co-owner, AND coach on the field, to needing to "work out" in front of of strangers in order to pay the bills. I don't see it. -Not with Peyton. The only caveat to that is, of course, MONEY. Right now Peyton is testing the market to see which franchises are dumb enough to pay big bucks for a 36 year old regular on the operation table. If he sees dollar signs, he may bite. However, if he can earn the same by NOT risking his neck (literally) he will. I wish Peyton the best. He's a great guy, A first-ballot HOF'er, and the best pure passer I have ever seen. I hope he's smart enough not to risk his legacy, and his health trying to play catch-up with his little brother. -
Johnny Hammerstick's Mock Draft
#34fan replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meh, I could live with this draft. Although I'd probably take OT Nate Potter at 5a. -Not crazy about the Streeter kid. I could definitely see Acho working out for us though. Not bad. -
I seriously doubt we can pay Williams the kind of coin he's looking to get. There's only one owner in this entire league that would drop that kind of green without so much as a second thought -Welcome to Dallas, Mr. Williams.

Not exactly what people mean when they say CUT FITZ!
-
LOL, and who takes the the ensuing INT back 80 yards for a touchdown? Look, this is just my opinion, but giving Fitz more weapons is like buying granny smith apples for toothless man. Furthermore, Vincent Jackson DOES NOT want to leave California. -Not for B-lo. If V-Jax isn't a Bolt next season, he's destined to be either a Raider or a Niner. This team's interests are far better served by trying to retain the talent that produced for us last season. (Fred Jackson, Scott Chandler). I wouldn't mind a little more interest in Matt Flynn, either.
-
Scott Chandler close to new deal or idle speculation?
#34fan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big AGREE over here! Chandler really showed me some things last season. All that guy ever did on the field was produce. (When given the opportunity) If Chandler leaves, it will just be one more thing about this team that P!$$es me off. This is exactly the type of player we should be fighting to KEEP! -Not only that, we should be using Chan's offensive "genius" (whatever) to create more ways of getting him the ball! KEEP SCOTT CHANDLER! -Draft Nick Provo (Syracuse) in the 5th!!! -
All Peyton Manning, all the time!

Wonder how much they had to shoot him up, to make him look decent? -
Would Peyton Hillis improve the Bills?
#34fan replied to JinWPB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah, let him go pursue his CIA career. Guy sounds like he's one tree short of a hammock. -
The point I was trying to make was that the closer we get to draft day, the less it seems like Ingram (Or any DE, for that matter) is going to be the pick at #10. My fave DE, Mercilus seems out of that picture too. They may be looking at this Floyd kid, or an offensive tackle. -Not really what I was hoping for, but based on team needs it would make sense.
