  1. Wecome back Shadow! There's been a dearth of trolling, pettiness, and all-around schmuckery since you've been gone. Oh by the way, did you actually READ the thread? Click the link? -No? Just pawing at it? -That's what I thought. Same old shadowcat.
  2. I don't buy it for a SECOND. This is just a ruse to generate interest so he doesn't get cut. Merriman is dead weight in this new defensive scheme, and he knows it. He can't stay healthy, and he can no longer perform at a high level. Merriman won't last five games at DE.
  3. I'm on board with this one! -Let's get another experienced TE for possession. Every time Fitz attempts a pass north of fifiteen yards, my heart jumps into my throat. If he was ever a deep-threat QB, he's not anymore. He could really use a guy like Clark. Wouldn't we need to free up some cash (cut someone) to get him signed?
  4. I'm not so sure. I've never seen Fitz have to respond to this type of adversity. I hope there's enough left in Vince Young to push Fitz to the absolute limit. If he's the starter, fine. Just make him earn it, that's all I ask.
  5. Thanks for sharing Hopeful. I'll forget about how bad it sounds, if you let me use this quote in my avatar.
  6. Really? -Ever watched him play? When a kid of such small staure dominates the way Wilson does, it's difficult not to root for him. Especially since many scouts dismissed him as being too small to play the position. Hey, I'm just glad he's raising eyebrows this early out. Months ago, I posted that Wilson is a kid that veteran/established QB's should worry about. Looks like that statement wasn't that far-fetched. Anyway, bring on the pre-season! I am soooooooo ready for football.
  7. I know a lot of Billievers on the board were hoping we'd take Wilson. Seattle ended up pulling the trigger on him first. Wilson is already causing havoc in just his first NFL mini-camp. Check out this article on NFL News My link Anyone want to bet against this kid?
  8. Totally agree with the underlined statement. -Not really feeling the rest of them. First of all, OF COURSE Elway needed a kid to groom behind Manning. Tebow wasn't the guy, and Peyton is pushing forty, coming off major surgery. Why in the world would that organization have passed on Ossie? Also, how exactly is taking the fourth best QB on the draft board supposed to take pressure off RG3??? Clearly Shannahan wants to win NOW, and grabbed Cousins as an insurance policy. The Greenbay Packer thing was just hilarious. And will someone PLEASE explain to me why Galey is still considered a guru? Since having limited success in the early 90's, The guy has been fired from almost every job he's ever had! He's not all that, Just ask Tyler Thigpen and Josh Nesbitt. It's good to be positive, but sometimes those murky homer goggles need a good cleaning-off. -Just sayin'.
  9. IF Vince Young can get it together, and keep it that way, -I'm on board. I'm all for giving a guy a clear line of sight. But it's up to him to make the most of the shot he's getting. My advice to Chan is simple. -Let our QB's play decide who wins out. Don't hold anyone back because of politics, or some misguided promise you made to Fitz way back when. After 12 years of failure, the fans and the team deserve better. GO BILLS!
  10. You and San Jose are really making me feel better about Vince Young's presence on this roster. I was never really against it, but the guy's history made me a tad aprehensive. Now that I've gotten a little perspective on his journey, I feel considerably less pressure to judge. So if you could just just explain away the strip-joint fight, and the Jersey throwing incident, I'll be 80 percent of the way there.
  11. While I hope VY proves everyone (including myself) wrong. I think it's highly unlikely. I'm hoping he can focus some of the maturity he's gained over the years, and give Fitzpatrick a true run for his money.
  12. Come on, are you really serious with this? Gailey simply let Kordell be Kordell. The kid was a winner in college, and really had a lot of natural talent. -Kind of like a former Titan we recently signed. The only difference worth mentioning is that Kordell was a team player, and Vince is well... Vince. If he's smart, Chan just let's Vince do what he does on the field, and take credit for it if it works. if it doesn't work then -cut him. I think the question ALL Bills fans (including myself) have to ask ourselves is if Vince Young turns out to be THE MAN in B-lo, can you bring yourselves to root for him? -If not, then why? I can say for my part, that if Young does win the job, and proves that he can be a "team" guy, he will have my full support, and backing. provided, of course, that he also keeps his nose clean. overall, It's a good signing. Only time will tell if it was worth the risk.
  13. I think youre absolutely right. The thing is, if we know this particular gimmick will be used, so do all the opponents on our schedule. Everyone will be expecting it. Just amounts to more predictable playcalling from Chan Gailey.
  14. I hope you're right about Fitz Looking good in practice. I'll be thrilled to see him have to duke it out with someone for the starting gig. If he can hold off Young (and everyone else) through training camp, I'll feel A LOT better about him at the helm this season.
  15. FINALLY!!!!! Chan and Buddy are starting to come around to the truth about their 59 million dollar man. By signing Vince Young their statement was clear: IF there's even a remote chance that Young has matured from his past colorful experiences and can perform at or even near his former physical abilities, he is absolutely in the hunt for the starting job in B-lo. Oh, they may deny it, but clearly Vince impressed SOMEBODY at his workout last Wednsday. -Unlike Fitzfudgestick, who showed up to mini-camp looking like the Pilsbury dough-boy. To be honest, I wish that it wasn't Vince Young. I'm not really a fan. -Not yet. I think for a grown man playing a contact sport, Vince is a bit too emotionally Fragile. -I was really hoping for Jason Campbell. What's important though is the message. Now Fitzpatrick has competition in TC, and can possibly be benched for a better alternative if he flounders during the regular season. On scale of 1-10, I give this FA sgning a solid 8.
  16. Despite the addition of a new coordinator, I think our Defense ought to eat fairly well this season. -Our Offense though is quite another story. Gailey isn't what he once was as a playcaller, and Fitzpatrick is well... Fitzpatrick. Alls I'm sayin' is that Chan better bring a new bag of tricks to the field come September. Last year's offense got figured out, and really stagnated down the stretch. Other than that, it looks like there's reason for hope at OBD. Unfortunately, "hope", in this case, translates into a 7-9 season, -at best. Heck, I'll go out on a limb and call it 8-8. Just bein' real. -GO BILLS.
  17. Wow. Looked like the type of pass Fitz would throw. -Probably with the same result.
  18. You make some valid points here. Buddy, Chan, and Fitzpatrick, all have a lot to prove IMO. They'll recieve my praise if, and when they get the job done. By "job" I mean ten wins minimum. -THIS SEASON. Anything less than eight wins should merit the firing of at least two out of those three guys. Honestly though, I think Pegula is a good owner. If he ran the show at OBD, I think we might have had a legitimate OC, and a starting QB that was worth a dam.
  19. LOL! Sure, but in my defense... "HELLO?!!! -You play to win the game!" -Herm Edwards
  20. Huh? Where have you been, bro? "The Firm" is now a Cincinatti bengal.
  21. According to ESPN Boston, the New England Patriots have agreed to terms with former Colts running back Joe Addai. My link Wow. Not sure what they want out of a guy that's looking more, and more like an injury liability due to the rigors of his position. Perhaps some of their younger draft picks may pick up some preparation notes from the former pro bowler, but come on, 433 yards, and ONE touchdown in 2011??? I don't see a threat. -Should I?
  22. I would trade Fitz for a fried baloney sandwich. I have ZERO feelings for the guy. I think it's definitely time for this franchise to look to the future. The guys on your list are OK, but there's some fine young quarterbacks coming in next years draft class. Chas Dodd from Rutgers is a personal favorite of mine. Landry Jones would be nice too. Matt Barkley, and Arkansas' Tyler Wilson round out the list. No more looking back for us. -And no more drooling over 35 year old QB's who have had successful careers. Once Fitzpatrick proves once and for all, that he is career backup, we can move on to greener, and younger pastures.
  23. Dray sucked, but McGee should've gotten the axe first.
  24. Wow. He really looks like S#@t in that photo. Wtf is that b!#@h-drink he's nursing like a cow's teat! -Better be some liquid accuracy, or some completion-ade!
  25. Volek mak be the oldest, but IMO he represents the best out of this bunch. Smart, experienced, well-traveled, and very reliable. If he were five or six years younger, there's no question who I would want. That said, there's no way Billy Volek is leaving his home in SoCal for balmy WNY. -Not at this stage in his career.
