Players cut from other teams that the bills should sign
#34fan replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind trying out Stanford Routt. Our secondary looks like it's going to be JUNK. ANY veteran presence should help. Offensively, the Patsoes released WR Quentin Sims from Tennessee-Martin. He's a big target. Very athletic, and sure handed... I've said repeatedly that I don't trust TJ Graham one bit... Can't understand why Hackett wouldn't want to load up on big targets for his talented rookie QB. -
Gragg's hands have not impressed me at all this pre-season. he may be fast, but I've seen no evidence that he can catch reliably at the pro level... And Brad Smith? -Really? I like the guy, and I STILL wanted him cut. He's not a natural receiver. Period. What in the world have Hackett and Marrone gone and done??? -Seems as though we cut too much promising talent to remain competitive going forward. Not happy about some of these cuts. TOO DEEP if you ask me.

Bills roster cut down to 50 (-18 then -5 more)

Yah.. pretty horrifying... Why him, and not useless-ass TJ Graham? I Can't believe it, myself. -

Wow. Just Shocked... Kaufmann, AND Dickerson? What in the hell are we going to score with? TJ Graham? -IMPOSSIBLE. The guy simply cannot catch. And CREZ BUTLER??? Why the f___ would you cut that guy Doug? WTF did he do beside out-perform every CB currently on our roster? These cuts remove easily half of the scoring potential from this team? -Something that will hurt like hell down the line. I don't see Kaufmann clearing waivers at all. He's probably already been picked up by the Patsies! How can you NOT see the talent in that kid??? Talk to us doug... You've lost me on this one. -
I'd like to express my condolences to anyone watching tonight's game just to see MATT F#8%ING LEINART! Life can be hard sometimes, and I want you to know you can count on my support. Go Bills.

What "Bubble" players helped themselves in today's game?
#34fan replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kiko Rocks. -Bradham blows. -TJ Graham is a HUUUUGE liability goiing forward. -Not a dominating reciever AT ALL. -
I'd be SHOCKED if Kaufmann made it past waivers. SHOCKED. Too much potential. Too much upside. Big, fast, sure-handed, redzone gold-mine. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like sooner or later Da'rick will pick up a DUI, or get caught with a gun, or swing on some guy in a strip joint. -All three could be a slow Tuesday for that kid. I think a team like the Pats (in need of receivers) will jump all over Kaufmann if we put him on waivers. We might be kicking ourselves many months from now for letting him get away.

Byrd signed tender [update: may still want to be traded]
#34fan replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were doing fine without him... I'm all for it as long he doesn't mess up what Pettine has started. -
Man! Nassib looks far worse than even I could have imagined. -Pathetic footspeed. Ghastly mechanics. Poor field vision. Terrible footwork. Cerified Public Accountant is a damn good living, Ryan. -Don't let anyone lie to you about that.

No Rush... Rest Eeej for another week if Necessary. These wideouts can succeed with Tuel doing the dealing. GO BILLS!!!!!

I actually think the WR battle is over
#34fan replied to Max997's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please, please, Doug KEEP KAUFMANN. This is the guy. -The kid. The genuine article. The reliable wideout we've been waiting for since Tasker. Here are some guys you can cut TONIGHT if you feel like it. Kevin Elliott Chris Hogan Demarco Sampson Terrell Sinkfield Zach Brown TJ GRAHAM!!!! The rest, we can absolutely win with. -
I see no shortage of guys to cut on offense. RB Zach Brown WR Kevin Elliot WR Chris Hogan WR Terrell Sinkfield WR DeMarco Sampson And yes, WR TJ Graham Kolb should either be cut, or moved to 2nd string BEHIND Jeff Tuel. I'd take my Chances with Brad Smith as 3rd string QB.

EJ hurt knee according to BB.com
#34fan replied to Kemp2Warlick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Damn right I would cut Kolb. I would have thought the last two years would have made some re-think the notion that a lousy starter was better than an unknown QB. I would go forward with the guy that shows the most promise. -For now, that's Jeff Tuel. I didn't care for Tuel when he was at WASU. -I still don't think he's a great option. But, just in case you didn't notice, our wideouts are getting open left and right. They're out there burning DB's with one juke-move. For better, or worse, Tuel has looked comfy in the offense, and gets guys the ball ON TIME. The LAST thing we need is a scrub verteran who can't get these speedy kids the rock. Honestly, Kolb was a good TC signing, but the big picture says we don't need him. Jeff Tuel is up next. -Until EJ heals. -

Damn Friggin Right! People, we're playing in January regardless of what the whiners and doomsayers puke out of their little-girl mouths. Kevin Kolb is NOT an NFL starter. It's Tuel-Time and/or Brad Smith going forward. -Get behind it now, or go root for the Patsoes. Waaaa! Waaa! -"We cant catch a break!" We could have just caught one. Give it a little time. -
No matter what, I think Marrone Starts EJ... Because of the scrimmages with their highly mobile, adaptable, QB, I think the 'skins 1st team D will be the ultimate test of EJ (and the o-line's) ability. If Kolb is really lucky, he'll split time in the second half with Tuel. I can't imagine him stealing another start from EJ.
-
I think that got us into trouble last year with Wanny. If you recall, he absolutely STUNK as a DC. I think I can hold out another few weeks.
-
the QB competition is over - EJ is your winner
#34fan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad we signed Kolbpatrick in the OS... EJ needed someone to embarass on his way to becoming the starter. It was a good signing. -Now it'll be an even better CUT! -
Seems to me like Marrone is deciding whether to keep Kolb at all. He'll let him go with the 1's and see what's there. He may also be curious to see if EJ can run the 2's like Jeff TueI did. Whatever the reason, I like this move... Clearly marrone wants to get things right the FIRST time...I applaud Marrone for his thouroghness. My guess though, is that Kolb will be gone by week 3.

Enough QB talk, how about Goodwin!
#34fan replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah, Sit EJ week 4 of the pre-seaze... No more KR for Goodwin. IMO. it's too high-risk/low reward to justify. I'm not totally against tossing him a couple slants vs. MIN, -maybe refining his route running. -
If (as advertised) it's a fair fight, then Tuel is winning.
#34fan replied to alias's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a Tuel Fan, but I liked what he did last Sunday. IMO, he could turn into a very reliable backup if he keeps working. (shades of Frank Reich?) I'd love it if he could be our human victory cigar... "Tuel time" could be the point in the 4th quarter when we're up by 5 TD's, and need a guy to work the clock.... -
How many WRs can a team carry?
#34fan replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolute NO to cuttting B. Kaufmann! -Are you listening Marrone? NO WAY! The kid has what it takes to be the face of the Bills offense. All he does is hang on to big catches. No coverage can stop him once that ball is over his shoulder. Why not cut a convicted scrub like Kolb or Hogan? IMO, There's simply too much young, speedy, talent for these "second chance" m0therf__rs to hang on. -Cut 'em all. Off-load TJ Graham too while your'e at it. I'd keep Kaufmann, Easley, Woods, Goodwin and Rodgers. Dorin Dickerson and Nick Provo make my Roster too. -I'm fine with an embarassment of riches at WR. -
When he was a collegiate player, I had the chance to observe the "two Tuels". -Good and Bad. My fundamental opinion of him has changed very little. While Tuel shows promise in flashes, he is extremely limited in what he can do. His game can easily be taken away with a few defensive adjustments. EJ's supreme mobility puts him ahead of the rest of the field in my book. That said, Tuel to Easley did look pretty frickin' good. Still, I'd exercise great caution in starting a QB controversy between Tuel and EJ. -It's clear to me that we need both at the moment. Two Quarterbacks anyone?.... Anyone at all?

I would not play this kid anymore this preseason. -Goodwin is too valuable, and lethal a weapon to be trotting out for what is essentially an exhibition game. If I were making the call, He'd be in street-clothes until the regular season. -
Bills sign Nick Provo TE, Release OLman
#34fan replied to Nanker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wonderful news. This is one of Marrone's hand-picked kids from the 'Cuse. Feirce competitor. Great hands. -Not so great of a blocker. Provo has been a pro for about a year. I really wanted us to take him in the '12 draft, but better late than never. Provo was an extremely reliable target for Ryan Nassib, and is a very good "Team" guy. -I'd be shocked if he didn't play his ass off for Marrone.
