  1. I would not give up on Spiller just yet. Gailey would not have him out there if he didn't think he was a threat. He'll score some big touchdowns for us before the year is out and in the years to come.
  2. Your QB made the right read to throw the ball to Johnson in the 1 on 1, Fitz just has to hit the pass. The play from the sideline was not "go over the top." It was run this play and take what they give you, like you've done over the last 6 weeks...
  3. It's just you. Yes any bum off the street from other NFL teams would have the Bills at 5-1 or 6-0. Losing 2 games by a FG with this squad, I think Gailey deserves a little more credit than you're giving him.
  4. If those two have no value to us, then I am sad to say this year may end up being very similar to last year. I agree with others sentiment that something is lost without these guys. Troup seemed to make strides this preseason and we need him to be in the D-line rotation. Easley will hopefully provide us a big play threat.
  5. Just for example 2008 2nd half of 4th round (where Ravens pick will be) - so guys entering 4th year in league now - Craig Steltz, Red Bryant, Tashard Choice, Bryan Kehl, Justin Tryon, Arman Shields, Lavelle Hawkins, Jacob Tamme, Keenan Burton, Jonathan Wilhite, Tony Hills, Jack Ikegwuonu, Derek Fine, David Hale, Stanford Keglar, and Josh Sitton. Yes those are the real 2008 draftees, never heard of more than half of them. Not close to a game changer among them. We all know about Tom Brady and Terrell Davis - it's called a needle in a haystack. 4th round pick = close to worthless.
  6. Kyle Williams, Stevie Johnson, Marcell Dareus, Shawne Merriman, Eric Wood, Fred Jackson, Rian Lindell
  7. Remember - these are the same guys that extended Chris Kelsay, who is now playing out of position in a 3-4 D, for some silly money. Lee Evans is worth more to us than a 4th round pick next year. Will you be thrilled when we draft a Da'Norris Searcy with that pick (or whoever, not picking on Searcy), but it won't be a game changer no matter who it is in round 4. Should have kept Evans.
  8. Thinking home games only: Best ever - Bills 51 Raiders 3 - no better way to advance to your first Super Bowl, the whole second half was like a huge party Got to be a close 2nd - Comeback game vs the Oilers (was not in attendance) 1990 - back to back comebacks mentioned above vs Broncos and Raiders, the 44-34 win vs the Dolphins in the playoffs 1987 - Win over Broncos in Cornelius Bennett's first game (he sacked Elway real early) signaling the Bills might be good sometime soon 1987 - Bills 27 Dolphins 0 (I think) - late in the year proving the Bills probably were gonna be good sometime soon 1988 - season opening win vs Vikings - Thurman's first game, started us on track to a 12-4 record and AFC East title 1988 - OT win vs Jets to clinch AFC East - Fred Smerlas blocks Jets last second FG attempt, Norwood wins it, Fandemonium - goal posts go down For exciting losses: Cowboys Monday nighter a few years ago Loss to Rich Gannon and Raiders with Bledsoe and Bills going toe to toe for 3 quarters before falling off in the 4th, lost maybe 49-31
  9. Who cares about respect of the media? Until we make the playoffs most observers will laugh us off anyway. A win at KC will be an upset no matter who is playing QB for them. If I remember correctly, last time we had a chance to make the playoffs in Week 17, we played a Pittsburgh team that rested their starters and still beat us. The W or L is the only thing that matters, the win would have got us in the playoffs, the loss left us out. As others have mentioned above, injuries are part of the game in the NFL - just ask Sam Cowart, Takeo Spikes, John Holecek, Paul Pozluzny or Brandon Spoon. You beat the team on the other side of the field that day.
  10. Great job on the original 53 - as mentioned maybe Wang and Rogers for two of Jasper, Batten, Coleman, Corner. Wish there was room for 8 WRs (including Smith), but just a logjam there. Jones (if eligible), Easley, and Roosevelt all might sneak through to the practice squad without getting picked up, if cut, in my opinion. There are a lot of good receivers in the NFL. We kept picking up TEs last year when guys got hurt, so despite everyone saying we don't use them, they apparently like to have them around and I suspect they'll keep 3 again. Personally, if we got 3 new ones that were waived by other teams to replace the TEs currently in camp I don't think it would make a difference.
