Do you not keep up w/ the NFL? http://bfy.tw/APWP

He did stop. He could have played this year and checked himself into rehab instead.
-
Objectively speaking (the cost would be comparable), would you rather have Robert Woods or Josh Gordon? Gordon is a no-brainer.
-
The rotoworld blurb confirms this as much. Seems like, at the very least, a versatile depth signing and, at the most, an upgrade at RT.

a) No thread since January 15. b) You can't see a pre-season "Road to Redemption" video on the Bills' site? RB would be ham bone'd for this sort of offseason storyline.

@Yolo, from Gilbert's wikipedia page: 2016[edit] On August 15, 2016, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Gilbert agreed to restructure $3.19 million of his 2016 salary into a bonus in order to clear $2.39 million in cap space.[19] He started the first four games of the season and injured his ankle during a Week 4 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.[21] He missed the next three games but was able to return in time for Week 7 contest against the New England Patriots. Gilbert started 13 games and finished the season ranked the 13th best offensive tackle by Pro Football Focus with an overall grade of 87.1.[22]

This is going to sound snarkier than I want it to, but I assume the starter was injured.

His story of redemption would be Russ Brandon gold.

Shocked that I haven't seen a thread on him yet. He applied for reinstatement and won't be welcomed back to the Browns. Do you make a run at him on a prove-it deal? This wouldn't preclude drafting a WR at 10 or resigning Woods and drafting a S/CB or trading down at 10.
-
He has to be better than Mills, that isn't to say he'd sign here: Chris Hubbard - G - Steelers Steelers extended restricted free agent OL Chris Hubbard an original-pick tender. The right of first refusal tender entitles Hubbard to a $1.8 million base salary. Teams can theoretically make him an offer sheet without giving up a draft pick, but the Steelers would be able to match. A former UDFA out of UAB's now-defunct football program, Hubbard held his own in four starts at right tackle last season. He also has the flexibility to play guard and even center.

Stopped reading after "aloud".

Teddy Bridgewater expected to miss all of 2017 season
switz1610 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Vikes moved on from him the minute they traded for Bradford, it was a 19mo rehab timetable to begin w/ so there was no reason to go after him last year. I'm sure they would like to recoup any picks if they could considering the price of Bradford. Probably a better value than rolling the dice on a mid-round QB this year. I concede the move doesn't address the short term need for a vet backup. On the human side, you'd think that if a team made a move for him he'd want to prove their investment good. -

I trade our last pick for him. Let him rehab, learn the offense and see what happens in a few years. Many posters on here have compared his and Tyrod's game. -
I did. Jerry Jones was tentative at best naming Dak the full time starter at the beginning of the year while milking the Romo injury until he had a larger sample size with no choice but to keep in Dak. One in the hand is worth two in the bush and you don't reach to fill positional needs in the draft unless you are one piece away. IMO: trade down to stockpile picks > if a QB falls to you take him this year > if we are, in fact, just a QB away from winning trade the farm for one in 2018. This is simple guys.

La'El Collins signs with the Cowboys

I can't tell if you are trolling or if your logic is truly this flawed. -
Would prefer to just retain Spikes.
-
I think we see how far Cassel or EJ take us this year then go all in on drafting a QB in 2016 (Ditka-esque). We retain the ability to invest in the team around the QB.

Well they are definitely looking at QBs. Interesting that they have only interviewed 1 RB. Blake Bell, TE, Oklahoma (COM) Bryan Bennett, QB, Southeastern Louisiana (COM) Anthony Boone, QB, Duke (COM) Brandon Bridge, QB, South Alabama (COM) Shane Carden, QB, East Carolina (COM) Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada (COM) Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State (COM) Connor Halliday, QB, Washington State (COM) Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA (COM) David Johnson, RB, Northern Iowa (COM) Jerry Lovelocke, QB, Prairie View A&M (COM) Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon State (COM) Ali Marpet, G, Hobart (COM) Nick Marshall, FS/QB/CB, Auburn (COM) Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor (COM) Aaron Ripkowski, FB, Oklahoma (EW) Blake Sims, QB, Alabama (COM) Clive Walford, TE, Miami (Fla.) Don't expect Spikes or Searcy back

To use your analogy. If it doesn't make sense for you to get a raise, you probably aren't performing very well. It's pretty common knowledge that it generally costs a company more to hire someone new than it does to give someone a raise. If you are allowed to interview elsewhere you probably aren't in their long term plans anyways. You might get along with your coworkers but that doesn't mean your quality of work is worth keeping around. I also think you are putting a little too much stock into GMs listening to other GMs. In sports there is a beautiful thing called game tape, other teams know exactly what type of player Spikes is and he either fits their scheme or doesn't. -
You asked for 3 examples, I gave 4.
