  1. You know I always learn something here that I did not know before. Kinda Zen-like, Grasshopper!
  2. January 23, 1994 The AFC Championship game was played against Joe Montana and the Kansas City Chiefs, in Buffalo. After taking a 20-6 half time lead, the Bills added further insult as Bruce Smith and Jeff Wright made a "Montana Hoagie", causing him to be replaced for the rest of the game by backup Dave Krieg. Krieg drove the Chiefs 90 yards, eating up over seven minutes on the clock, culminating in a Marcus Allen one yard touchdown run. It was too little, too late, as the Bills defense shut out the Chiefs in the fourth quarter, while the offense scored ten more points. The final score: Bills 30, Chiefs 13 The Bills were the first team to win four consecutive AFC Championships, a record that still stands. Will the Eagles break their NFC streak and win this one? By the way, babyrock is making cookies for the game using my buffalo shape cookie cutter.
  3. Bright sunshine in Philly right now! Enjoy the games.
  4. We stopped there once on the way home from Alex Bay and the freaking British were landing! Infantry, cannons - it was very cool! Um, it was a reenactment of the War of 1812... I am not THAT old!
  5. ... at the the age of 79 of emphysema. I grew up with him as the late show icon.
  6. You got that right! 8-10" of snow in Boston and NYC is news; in Buffalo and mosyt of WNY it is just January.
  7. It seems to me that Garcia is a Jeff George attitude kind of QB. Why add a bad apple?
  8. Right..... Go down to Bogie's driveway, loop around the telephone pole, hop the ditch, and do a button hook. When you turn the ball will be there. One of my best streetball memories: I played QB on a double reverse pass. I went from QB to receiver. We faked everyone, but I was sprinting down the street and had to catch the pass over my head with my finger tips in stride. Then I had to out race my older brother to get the TD. I will never forget the look on his face when he realized what we were doing but I had three steps on him. He was fast but it was too late.
  9. I must have missed a thread - garbage plates on Friday? WHICH Friday?
  10. Sounds like I have kids older than you! I chose the my nickname because that is the place I learned to love the Bills!
  11. When there was an AFL and an NFL, I liked the Packers and the Vikings as well as the Bills. Growing up in Hamburg, The Bills were always my first team, though.
  12. Only shoveled twice today so far (Rochester/Irondequoit). Looking outside right now, it looks like fog, but it is snow. That is a whiteout, for those who have never seen one. Looks like about a foot or more has fallen today. Tomorrow morning I am going to shovel, then strap on the cross country skis in the garage and "stroll" through the neighborhood. Hell, HERE it is WNY and winter. Ten degrees. Love it or leave it.
  13. Very strong Bachman-Turner influence there.
  14. I do the same thing; watch the replay as I lean...... One year they used a lot of file video, and did a special where the kick WAS good and faked the entire post game. It was sadder than reality - "watching" what COULD have been.
  15. First, I admire Norwood for not changing his name and going into seclusion. This is someone's headline every year. Second, the Thurman helmet thing most certainly does not make him one of the top ten goats in playoff history. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: SI
  16. If you like "My Wife" check out some John Enwhistle's (the bassist) solo music. I especially like Smash Your Head Against the Wall. I also like Whistle Rhymes, Mad Dog, and Too Late the Hero. I was very sad when he died.
  17. I saw the Who in Rochester right after they released Who's Next. That may be one of best rock and roll albums ever done. They even smashed their equipment after the show. Thanks for not calling the song "Teenage Wasteland".
  18. Thanks for correcting me on the date. That was the show I went to. The freaky part was that when Daltrey started belting out "Love, reign o'er me" it stated to rain. Gave me goosebumps!
  19. Along that line, about 1973 or so I saw Aerosmith at the college ballroom in SUNY Geneseo, capacity maybe 500. Cost with student ID was 75 cents.
  20. No LSD was better with more mellow stuff, like Pink Floyd's dirge "Ummagumma", Hot Tuna, Taj Mahal, David Bromberg, The Band or funny stuff like Firesign Theatre or Cheech and Chong "Parlez-vous Humma-Humma?". Acid Rock was not for acid users.
  21. When is your birthday you old fart. I will buy you a plate if you are not already in Brazil for the winter.
  22. Not True! One of the delivery guys at Palermo's Deli on Culver Road knows the brother of the cousin of Henry's agent's ex-wife. She said Henry is a solid trade for a #2 pick. How could that not be reliable?
  23. ...and of course we all remember this applies to Moulds too, right? The Bills almost released him several years back.
  24. Do you mean flashes?
