  1. I took vacation days and went to almost every training camp at Fisher with my kids, friends and grandchildren. One year we took a group of kids from my wife's home daycare as a field trip. It was like a carnival for kids in the beginning. In the early days at Fisher, I met many TBD "old timers" in person for the first time.
  2. My first training camp was at Sheraton Camelot Motor Inn in Blasdell in the early 1960's. They were there from 1963 to1967.
  3. Exactly! Before SBXXV and the few seasons before and after when Buffalo was fielding a competitive team, I bought a shirt that said AFC East Champions, because it had been many years since I had seen "Buffalo Bills" and "Champions" on any shirt! Most of the 1970's and early 1980's were miserable for the team and the fans. That is why NOW is when they have to win it all.
  4. We went to see Bonnie Raitt at the Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre as a main event at the Rochester (NY) International Jazz Festival. The audience loved her and she loved us back. She nearly brought me to tears a couple times. Highlights were "Just Like That", that she credited to John Prine's influence on her. Her cover of "Burning Down the House" by David Byrne/Talking Heads was full of fun energy. Her cover of Dylan's "Million Miles" was refreshingly original without taking away from the original. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen! She played a lot of her current album, but caught many of her oldies. When you make 21 records over 50+ years, the song library of fan favorites is huge. My favorite stuff was before she started winning Grammy's, and she played a couple. Her voice is still perfect.
  5. SO, just to follow up on this thread, we did the MS walk on Sunday 5/21. Total sponsors contributed a whopping $1,220! TBD Sponsors: Jay Rubeo Todd Graybeard Total sponsors since we started this in 2004 is $27,000 ! Thanks to all for your support. ❤️ Rockpile
  6. This old timer remembers you well, Fez!
  7. As of today the total is $1,070! The MS Walk is in two days, so there is still time to sponsor me if you would like to. Please support me by clicking on "Family Rocks" in the original post. TBD Sponsors: Jay Rubeo Todd Graybeard My thanks to ALL!
  8. I have been involved with TBD in various ways since day one. I am still married to my best friend. My four kids have all grown up and gotten married. Three kids are still married. I have ELEVEN grandchildren - ages three to twenty-seven. One grandson is married and just got back from being deployed to Germany with the Army National Guard. One granddaughter is engaged to be married this fall. One grandson is a childhood Leukemia survivor. I have been retired on disability since I was 62, but I am doing fine. I am still waiting (since 1967) for an NFL Championship! I met some of my best friends right here!
  9. Just a bump in case you missed this, The MS Walk 2023 is a week from Sunday. So far we have been sponsored for $735. Please support me by clicking on "Family Rocks" in the original post. Thank You, Rock
  10. In 2022, I was sponsored for $1,555, and the Family Rocks Team raised a total of $1,840!!
  11. It's time for my annual request of my friends at Two Bills Drive to sponsor me in a fund raiser to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I do not post often anymore, but I am a frequent lurker, since day one of this web site. Hopefully we will meet for a Garbage Plate for the Home Opener again this year. Many of you know I was diagnosed with MS way back in 1994, but thanks to advances in treatment and medication that get better each year, I can live a relatively normal life. There was a time when a diagnosis of MS meant getting measured for a wheelchair, but things have greatly advanced sine then Since 2003 we have raised over $25,000 thanks to YOU! I would estimate that TBD has been responsible for close to 75% of the funds raised in the past. Please support me by clicking on Family Rocks! Any amount helps! 100% of your donation goes to the MS Society. God Bless and Thank you all!
  12. I cheer for the Bills to win every week, at the same time having zero expectations. I have had my hopes stomped too many years (60+) to expect anything.
  13. The NFL does not care about your plans. Sad but true.
  14. Winning the Lombardi Trophy is the only game that matters. I admit it would be nice to do it five in a row!
  15. Prayers for healing for this young man and his family.
  16. Going to see Bonnie Raitt at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester in June. 😀
  17. My father was one of the founding members of the Buffalo Bills Boosters Club, Inc. I have a copy of the paperwork with his signature on it. I also have his Boosters coat (see my profile for the logo). By incorporating they were independent of the Bills Backers Clubs that came later. My souvenirs from the Booster days are an autographed Styrofoam football centerpiece from the Boosters 1961 Holiday party, and the Christmas newsletter, The Bills Bulletin. Those were simpler, not necessarily better days. We all have our own Bills history.
  18. I hated getting a seat behind a roof post. The first time I went to Rich Stadium it took my breath away.
  19. True. I remember a guy got a ball but it came with a shiner! I saw about a dozen games there from Cookie to OJ.
  20. The fact that they are 10-3 because they are overcoming injury and "flaws" is commendable. How many team's fans would like to have our worries? 😁
  21. I just grabbed a random Bills hoodie instead of trying to figure out a lucky outfit. I did not shave. NEVER shave on game day seems to help.
  22. Just popped in to let you know it snowed lightly a few minutes ago about 80 miles east of the game.
  23. Forgive me for snipping this liberally to address only some the bands or artists with my personal comments! I really liked The Band's work with Dylan, and loved their first two studio albums. I have even driven up the hilly roads in Saugerties, NY to stop at Big Pink two times. Their third album was a bit of a dark foreshadowing of the end for me, except for some brilliant selections from that and later albums. Drugs, alcohol, and credits for who wrote the songs (and the money attached to that) destroyed them. They had a short lived resurgence with "Jericho" in the 1990's, and the Americana genre is their greatest achievement. I saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers about six months before Petty died and it was one of the best concerts I ever attended. I loved Led Zeppelin's first two studio albums the best, played loud enough to vibrate the windows Stop Making Sense was their peak for me. Before The Flood - live with The Band and the compilation The Essential Bob Dylan are favorites along, with the studio albums Blood on the Tracks and John Wesley Harding. His current tour is getting rave reviews. Yes, the rain started when they played Love, Reign O'er Me!
  24. The Who should have stopped releasing new music as The Who after Keith Moon died. I had all their vinyl releases and most of the individual's solo work, going back to the 45 rpms. I saw them once before and once after Keith Moon died. I cannot really compare the shows because the first was after the release of Who's Next at the Rochester War Memorial, in front of maybe 6,00 fans, about 1973. The second time was outside in the cold autumn rain about 1984 at Rich Stadium with 80,000 fans. Both performances were excellent but the first time was magical.
