  1. One thing I can add about Wegman's is that they are GREAT for high school kid's jobs and college scholarships. Two of my kids have received over $7,500 (to date) in scholarships for college. You must be a full-time student, have a certain number of hours worked per year, and have a decent GPA. They will adjust schedules for kids who are in sports and extracurriculars while in high school, and will work with the college students to make sure they get extra hours on breaks and summer to meet at least the minimum hours needed for the scholarship. My youngest was able to move from cash register to video counter and she is doing well (free videos too). My son worked there 8 years and got the max scholarship each year of college - $1,500. We take Wegmans for granted here, until we travel. I also know a few "stay at home" Mom's who can work their schedules around school hours. What can I say, it is just a really good store!
  2. I will be happy if I am middle aged at 51; that means I can count on 51 more!
  3. Says the young dude with such a full life that he still has time for over 11,000 posts.
  4. Happy Birthday, Honey! Enjoy the Lion King with my favorite Steelers Fan.
  5. That is fair to a point, but are any of us objective? I would hope a fan can give an objective answer to a question. For example you can be a Bledsoe fan and still think it is best that he move on. You can be a JP fan, and think it was wrong to announce he would be the starter next year, when he has not made it through one camp without injury. Doesn't matter. Big Easy is giving us the Big Chill!
  6. I like your avatar, Kokopelli!
  7. I am not any good, but I strum every now and then. 1. Guild Madiera - 1973 folk guitar (got it from Buzzo's) - great playing guitar with about 5,000 hitchhiking miles on it. I am amazed it still plays after the abuse it has seen. 2. Gretsch - bought from a friend in the early 70's for $15. It is a lower end model I believe used by students and poor hippies. Details: Gretsch Model 6186 Hollow Body Electric Clipper Sunburst Serial Number 37835 Manufactured about 1960 per the following research 1958 Clipper introduction specs: 16" wide, 1 3/4" deep body 1 pickup with slothead screw poles and oval cutout in cover adjustable ebony bridge trapeze tailpiece double bound top and back 24.5" scale length dot fingerboard inlays sunburst finish (6186) Fret Markers Starting in 1958, almost all models switched to the "Neoclassic" markers, also called "thumbnail" or "half moon" markers, and these remained fairly standard through the '60s and '70s on most models. Bargain models used simple dot markers. Electric Guitar Pickups Single-coil HiLoTron pickups introduced in 1961 were used on various Gretsch models, this conflicts with the estimated of manufacture date of my guitar The Bridge The Clipper used a plain wooden bridge, but the mid- and upper-level models were found with a wide variety of bridges. The Tailpiece The simplest Gretsch hollowbodies, such as Clippers, used a very simple trapeze tailpiece. Serial Number Logo From about 1949 to 1957 watch for a white rectangular label that reads: Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co. 60 Broadway, Brooklyn 11, N.Y. Model ________ Serial No.__________ Musical Instrument Makers Since 1883 Beginning in about 1957 a new label was introduced, which lasted until about 1965. On this one, "The Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co." was printed in black on an orange shape that vaguely resembles a musical note. This was superimposed on a gray over white label. Serial Numbers 1949 to 1965 Gretsch Serial Numbers. Serial numbers are stamped in ink on the inside, visible through the sound holes. Serial Numbers in the range 34000 to 39000 were manufactured in 1960 Estimated Value Based on a 1959 Clipper - $600-$700 I have seen Clippers from 1961 to 1966 listed as high as as $1,200 at retail selling price on web catalogs. 9. Note the comfort station hours. Forget about a shower Sunday morning unless you like waiting in a line.
  10. Who's R. Rich? How's it going big guy?
  11. There is a store right off the main boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico called Master Baiters - a fishing tackle and bait store.
  12. God Bless...
  13. Her ex-husband introduced us. Our 1st date was New Year's Eve 1978. LONG after they split!
  14. Yes, there are extremes both ways.
  15. I wish they would have finished with Live and Let Die, just to end the show with the energy, lights, fireworks, etc.... Also would have preferred Maybe I'm Amazed to Hey Jude, but all in all, it is about time they showed some CLASS at halftime instead of trailer pop trash! The fans did not seem like they wanted Paul to leave.
  16. I taught all 4 kids to drive. You notice I have no hair. ALL of my kids had to have an adult around way into their teens. In some cases, that just meant having a parent in the theatre, at the concert hall, at the mall, it all depended on WHO the kids were and what the event was. On the PLUS side I would not have seen Weezer or Goldfinger if I had not taken Nikki to the shows. I also ALWAYS talked to the other parents to confirm plans, made sure I had a phone number for sleep overs, and when the girls started dating, the guy ALWAYS came to the door, no pulling in the driveway and honking the horn. Now that the youngest is in college, I talk to her about STDs, date rape drugs... hell she asks ME questions sometimes because she knows I will always tell her the truth. None of the 4 kids have ever been arrested, 2 of 4 have tried drugs, all have done things that make you gray but they have been better than I was at their age!! Back to the question from LabattBlue: NO WAY does she go alone without a parent around. She may hate you now, but one day she will understand. Fezmid, PLEASE check back on your opinions about this when you have kids.
  17. First, I do not think the Bills would move north. Tagliaboo said: Second, the Bills would not be the Bills anywhere else. The Toronto Bills? Los Angeles Bills? Give me a break. If the Bills leave Buffalo, I have no team.
  18. My brother has been a carrier/clerk for about 20 years, and is a preacher too. He likes the job. He lives in rural Pennsylvania and it is a good paying job with great benefits. With a little luck, he may be the post master in a small town soon. My grandfather was a carrier for over 30 years, from the 1920's to the 50's ! I turned down a position with the post office in Penfield, NY in 1980 and kind of regret it. The biggest problem at the time was that they start you part time, usually work you at least 40 hours, but could not promise anything. I had a wife, three kids (including a baby), and a newly purchased home; I needed the promise of at least 40 hours/week.
  19. What an incredibly thoughtless thing to do!
  20. I got 82% with an average error of 38 miles out of place.
  21. I like you better when you are bad.
  22. Don't ANYBODY pinch this guy, he is living a dream! Enjoy yourself, Doc!
  23. Yes, the distractions almost cost him his job back in his 2nd or 3rd year - too much bad press about non-support of his brood.
