  1. I saw him in Rochester when they had about 3 or 4 players and cheerleaders at a car dealership on Marsh Road. Flutie was there and was on the bench that year behind RJ. He was taking time to talk to every fan - especially the kids. When it was my turn, I told him to be ready because he was going to get his chance soon. He looked at me and said, "You really mean that, don't you?" I smiled and just said, "Yes, so be ready!" He stood up and shook my hand and said "Thanks!" I was about 5th from the end of the line, the doors were closed, and the tv cameras had left, so he was not playing the media at that point. He was just a regular guy. I am not refuting your bad experience AND I do not say this to start another freaking Flutie debate. Just telling you MY encounter with him. I wish him well. Someone will probably pick him up as a backup.
  2. Youngest Rockdaughter (pebbles) is a freshman at Brockport.
  3. Lackawanna, NY / 51 / Rochester, NY
  4. I am 51 and have an 18 year old daughter. Somehow I do not think I would be slapping Bruce on the back, saying "Way to go, Dude!" if she brought him home. I did spend some time with a 35 year old when I was 18, and we had one thing in common.
  5. She does not live there, she lives up by Prospect Park. Bensonhurst seems to be an area that is seeing an increase in Chinese and Russian immigrants. The kids there really want to learn. She has taught on the east side of Manhattan and Chinatown, and is used to living in Brooklyn. Is there something I do not know about Bensonhurst you were trying to tell me?
  6. Hey, Rich - our little girl (babyrock) just got a job teaching in Brooklyn, at Bensonhurst Elementary.
  7. I should have mentioned: Dropped out from SUNY Geneseo in 1973 to see the world; a year later I was making popcorn poppers in a sweatshop for minimum wage. After I had a wife, house, and three kids, I went back to school, part time nights. Took me 8 years. I often worked two jobs, and had to skip semesters now and then because we had no funds. My company matched the tuition as long as my grades did not suck. Graduated with high honors (3.57) and an Associates in Business in '92. I cannot say it did much for my career, but it did a lot for ME.
  8. I am listening to WFUV on line now! I graduated from RIT.
  9. I met you and your son last summer, and have nothing but complete respect for you both. You raised a great kid, Mom!
  10. Nope, you wasted your money!
  11. It is much easier to just say "Here is $54. Now go over there and lie down."
  12. It means they need more cowbell!
  13. As a "small market" team, the Bills have surprisingly finished in the top ten in paid attendance in the league in 2003 & 2004. Back in 2001 they were 20th. Things aren't always as bad as we paint them. attendance ranking Looking at Arizona - dead last all four years, with an average home attendance under 40,000 - I think the NFL should look elsewhere when it comes time to relocate franchises.
  14. No. They would not be the Buffalo Bills, just a team of familiar players living in another city.
  15. Hmmm. J.P. Looseman?
  16. Shook his hand in 1964 and I have been a Bills fan ever since.
  17. Only unaltered Bills Jersey I have. Great choice!
  18. Current: Coy Wire All Time: Fred Smerlas or Tom Day
  19. Ahr & Ahr & Associates They must be twins.
  20. At our local school, teacher's salaries (including a raise) are placed on the austerity budget, while transportation of elementary school children was supplemental. So 5 year olds within one mile of the school should walk to kindergarten? The district just keeps having additional votes, moving a few numbers around, until panicky parents finally pass the BS budget.
  21. His one liners were along this line: "I love my mother.... and for $25 so can you."
  22. You are such a sexist! Hi, Sweetie!
