I am amazed this thread is so low key this year! I guess between now and game day there will be a lot more comments on who is going to the game and how many plan stopping by the TBD Tailgate. I will be at the TBDAHOT for sure, but might be coming up Sunday early AM instead of staying in Hamburg Saturday night. Who will be around on Saturday, and where will you be partying? The replies may decide if I come up a day early or not!

Just a couple shots taken at the MS Walk on May 20th. These were by a volunteer so we were just checking back to see when Canandaigua, NY would be available. Two team shots: Family Rocks #1 Family Rocks #2 Three of my children and six grandchildren are in the photos! Thanks to all of our sponsors! We raised over $1,300 this year!

With MS, I have horrible balance and an uneven gait. I often wondered how they would handle a physical if pot was legal. I do not worry about a sobriety test because I do not drive impaired. Period. Earlier in my life I deserved a DWI arrest a couple times. One time when I was an under aged drunk and a friend picked me up in a car I found out was stolen, after I got in! I got dropped off ASAP and am lucky not to be "grand theft auto". He was lucky he did not get caught. I had to learn to be careful who I hung out with and eventually how to grow up and change my own behaviors.

I used to drink one or two glasses of red wine every night. I switched to one or two beers a couple times a week and dropped almost ten pounds, over a few months. I am also getting more exercise now that summer is here. I have a 16 x 32 foot in ground pool. Keeping that clean and balanced is a lot of work. Extreme heat and humidity knocks me out because of my MS. After some work in the garden and maintaining a large yard, I use the pool to exercise, reduce my body temperature, and just cool off. I love all four seasons but I hate extremes in weather ANY time. Looking forward to summer parties. day trips, a couple short vacations (Catskills and Adirondacks), summer festivals and open air music. The Rochester International Jazz Festival just started, so we are hoping to see Brian Seltzer tonight downtown. I dislike winter the most but like to get outside whenever I can, doing something besides shoveling snow. I love my snow shoes and wooded trails.

I had a mid 70's Ford van that I bought for $75. It had many minor minor problems as you would expect, but after a year, the steering box (I think) locked up. You could only turn the steering wheel a little to the right, and it was like tightening a bolt! There were no problems making left hand turns. We parked it and decided there were more problems than the van was worth. I lived about a mile from the drive in, so our farewell trip in the van was carefully laid out only making left hand turns on straight roads. After we got home, I had it picked up by a junk yard flatbed and they gave me $40 for scrap, so the car cost $35 to drive for a year. LOL!

That is kind of how I look at it, Poojer. As with anyone, there have been peaks and valleys, but if I worry about the future or long for yesterday, I lose today. Anyhow, the sixties were fun for me: Little league baseball, AFL football on Best Street, a small suburban home in Hamburg, no pot to piss in, but did not feel poor, lots of kids in the neighborhood, the British Invasion, teenage summers at Silver Lake with my grandparents, teenage girls and drive-ins. A lot like the movie "Stand By Me", with a touch of "the Outsiders" tossed in! That is just one slice of the great times I have had over the years. Today I am one of the luckiest people I know. (sorry for ignoring grammar in this post - it was more of a brain dump than a structured paragraph)

I worked for Computer Consoles Inc. or CCI. We were absorbed into Nortel (Networks) in the 1990's, leasing computer systems and application software for over 50% of the Directory Assistance, Audio Response, 9-1-1 in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, England, and Australia. Our main customers were AT&T, Sprint, MCI, GTE, and Ma Bell, which was broken up into dozens of Baby Bells. Our Office Systems were deployed in many law firms and government offices - including the Pentagon. Rochester, NY was the main hub for worldwide manufacturing, sales, customer service, and voice and database services. I was a supervisor in the world wide distribution center and interacted daily with field engineers, project managers, and sales, some of them in Richardson, TX. My team's primary job was keeping spare parts available for local repair of over 100 remote offices. Depending on your job, we may have "worked together". Nortel eventually sold us off, and I was laid off on 1/28/2007, after 27 years on the job and four years shy of retirement benefits. I fortunately got a pension buy out based on years of service, and moved my 401K out of Nortel's hands.

When I was 45, I ran the Lilac 10K in Rochester. That was nearly 20 years ago. Here's to many more birthdays, my friend.

Rooms selling out FAST!

Thank you! I appreciate your support. I am taking Gilenya right now, which is a daily pill. I have been on treatments like Ocrevus, which is an infusion (bag and IV). What is encouraging is it seems to help those with the progressive form of MS that can really hit you hard. I have the relapsing/remitting MS that comes and goes. My medication is pretty effective in stopping or slowing down relapses. I am kind of a guinea pig, since when I was first diagnosed they were just starting to have treatments to slow down MS. My treatments have been self injection, infusion, and now oral. Luckily prescription assistance programs pay for my drug for now. Annual costs would range from $65,000 to $96,000, I would have to stop treatment if asked to pay for it. SSDI plus my wife's income is enough to live on within our comfort zone (no complaints) , but prescription costs are beyond reason!
