Other Teams Afraid of the Big Bad Bills
paintmyhouse replied to Brand J's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have already explained, even if Garrard and Moore are better than Fitz, it does mean that Miami believes either of those guys are good enough to win the Super Bowl. That combined with the fans wanting their next Marino, and their owner wanting them to draft a QB and to also please the fan base made Tanehill the easy and obvious choice. Not to mention that rookies get slotted for money, so you can take a QB right now that does not really need to play right now either. You are welcome, OCinBuffalo, for the class. All of what I just said above are true, make perfect sense and are the reasons Tanehill was drafted by Miami. BTW, I hate the Dolphins. -

It is the truth, not sure why it is funny. The fans wanted Tanehill, and they have an owner who also pushed hard for him because the fans wanted him. Not made up at all, it is no secret at all, and anyone who did not already hear this and know this must not really pay attention to the draft. I will buy you a beer at Tavern 99!!! I leave from Atlanta, head west towards Albuquerque, and then turn right towards Anchorage, right? -

Matt Moore was better than Fitz was last year and at any point in Fitz's career, and Sanchez has gone to two AFC Championships and was good in the playoffs, Fitz is by far the worse and least successful starter with little to no upside in the division, and really as an NFL starter too. -

Please, if the Bills only win 7 games Fitz will be cut and Gailey will be fired this season. -
Tampa Bay will be a lot better. I think the Saints could even finish in last place in that division.

Jauron's teams were better, they won more than Gailey's teams have thus far, how can this even be questioned? -

You are what your record says you are, almost every NFL coach says that all that time. The Bills have won 10 games the last two years, only 3 teams have less wins, this is a bad, bad football team right now. They have the worst and least successful QB in the NFL who has 35 starts over the last 4 seasons. They have a stubborn coach. Prognosis is not good at this point. Can't wait for the opener though, flying in from Atlanta!! -

At this point Bills are not even as good as the Jauron teams, it is time for true seeing before believing. -

Homer. Bills have bleakest outlook at this point, they are the worst at QB in their division right now, and as it looks right now 3 years down the line too. -
They can also survive an injury at QB, Jason Campbell was signed, and he us better than some of the NFL starters, including the Bills starting QB.

Bills named one of 2 AFC "breakout" teams

Ugh. The guy could get it right though, the first 5 games are not evern close to the hard stretch, they are the 6 games that go 4 through 9. If he thinks the first 5 are tough, those 6 must be train wreck potential. I mean NE at home, then At San Fran, at Arizona, Tennessee at home (who beat us easily at home last year and won 9), at Houston, and at New England. There is not a win in those 6 games, they better win the first 3. -
They will win 6 games. They will be just like Carolina last year. Once Luck has 10 games under his belt no one will want to play them, they will be have the tought to beat but easy to win against for good teams. Plus their division is stronger than Carolina's was, seriously, look at the difference that a difference maker at QB makes. Book 6 wins, so they have a 4 game rise. Panthers defense got evern worst last year in Cam Newton year 1, 27th in points allowed and 28 in yards and they won 4 more games then the year before. There are serious under valuation by people on what a good QB can do.
-
Most improved by win total? Would have to be Indianapolis hands down and not even close.
-
Teams do not expose their developmental QBs to the PS. You just are not smart enough to understand the difference, that is all. I feel bad for you for not understanding, has to be hard when it comes to other things. You think TJ Yates was ready for prime time last year? Not sure, but he never got exposed to the PS. Just like the Jets will not do that to Greg McElroy. You think Terrelle Pryor is ready for prime time? Doubtful but the Raiders cannot take a chance and practice squad him, he joined the active roster when he served his suspension. None of those guys were "that good". The rule to give the 3rd QB is to truly have a developmental QB on your roster.
-
Not really, there are players poached from active rosters that actually play weekly. Watch and see what happens if Greg Mcillroy from the Jets gets placed on the Practice Squad. He would immediately be placed on the active roster by another team as the 3rd QB. If a QB is that good you like him, you do not and cannot afford to PS him. The one's that are on the PS are absolute long shots at this point.
-
Bills are not taking advantage of the rule IMO. Taking advantage of the rule is actually having a 3rd QB on your roster. Bills are using a guy who can play QB as the 3rd QB and have an extra position player who is mediocre at everything he does. You were still allowed to use a 3rd real before, just that if you did then the other two could no longer play in the game.
-
More foolish talk here. So you think all positions in football are equal? Wow, that is what you are saying. You wake up man. You are abviously not up to date on what year it is and how important QB is.
-
A developmental QB (or any positioon) on the practice squad can be stolen by any other team in the NFL. You really want to risk that for a guy you are trying to develop? If you really liked the QB you will not leave him on the practice squad.
-
I disliked Smith's effort last year in trying to catch a pass that comes in as erratic (one of the many Fitz will end up throwing).
-
Bills lead the NFL in playing guys out of position.
-
I don't care of a 3rd QB does nothing, Why not get a developmental QB? It is only the most important position on the field, and the Bills clearly do not have the answer at QB right now. Smith is the most overpaid player on the Bills and should be cut, anyway. It is far from win-win to ever play the 3rd QB anyway, and have a bad starting QB and no one looking towards he future. Smith has no speed at all on the field, his KR last year were terrible, he gets no separation as a WR either.
-
Brad Smith listed as QB sucks. The Wildcat sucks. Thigpen is a better QB than Smith is, it isn't even close. They both suck, but between the two Thigpen is better. I hope the Bills don't run wildcat very much.
-
Bills have 10 wins the last 2 seasons, I think only 3 teams have worst, and the Bills are clearly the worst at QB of the teams with less wins too. You can fart 10 wins over two seasons, Fitz is proven to be a bad bet and a losing QB.
