Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
paintmyhouse replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is hilarious and somewhat appalling at the same time that people say Fitz has proven anything. He has proven nothing at all other than he is a less than average starting QB in the NFL who has actually proven to be the leader in losing. -
Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
paintmyhouse replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, you think those guys develop into the players they are now with Fitzpatrick? Ugh. No way possible, Eli made those guys, Manningham will have no success in his new place. Manning kept Burress relevant for extra years as he got slow. QB rating takes all those into consideration, and he was not close to the top, he was 22nd. You have to look at yards per game, not just yards, use the stat correct if you are going to use it. You don't even use correct stats in the same post. You talk about a TD percentage to show how he was not the worst. You don't even use apples and apples in your defense of him, that just shows how terible Fitzpatrick is. -
Who is the most indispesable player on defense ?
paintmyhouse replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it would benefit the team the most if the most indispesable player was a LB since we have had very little impact at that spot in years. -
Trent Edwards the Eagle

So the Bills did not revamp their playbook 100% when they played Fitz? Edwards actually played decent in hurry up and shotgun, but Gailey had him line up under center and hand off. -

I know he said Miami game, but the one he ran out of bounds at the end was the Green Bay game. You are correct, the offense moved when they opened the spread. Thing is, I think Trent could have been decent. Bills went full spread ONLY when they released Edwards. I think Gailey wanted Edwards to be removed, and the way to get him out was to handcuff him and run the ball more. When Trent was gone the Bills only began using what we see right now. Chan sacrificed two losses that season. He should have been fired just for that IMO. -

That game the Bills were losing by 3 touchdowns. Not sure why people think that was a big deal. I found much more offense with Gailey in that game. With the Bills losing big the Bills continues to run the ball on 1st and 2nd down andbe left with 3rd and long. Gailey was horrible that game, and the 2 INTs Edwards had were both the WR fault, on one Parrish let the CB just rip the ball out of his hands and it counted as an INT. THat team stunk, and they went on the lose 6 more in a row with the other guy too that stinks at QB. -

His career YPA is 6.5. Fitz had a 6.7 last year, and his career is 6.3, the guy we have now is every bit off a dump off QB as Edwards. Also, the guy we have now likes to throw 30-40 yard passes that are overthrown on 3rd and 1, did that many times last year, he is not nearly as smart as he is given credit to be. Fitz really does not play smart at all. -

Foles cannot go to the PS, he would then be exposed tom allow every other to grab him. Bills and a few others would try to swoop in and add him to roster then. He will have to make the team as the #3 QB. Exactly. Did not see your post, as I said the same thing after you did. -
The Bills defense cannot really score much more then they did last year. They had 6 TDs last year, and a safety, they were 2nd in the NFL in defensive points scored. They had 1 punt return for a TD, so they had 7 TDs and a safety, for a total of 51 points scored, 2nd in the NFL for non offensive points scored. It would be a feat to match that and cannot be expected. I will say no on the 24 points.

Gaughan Fitz Article Re: D. Lee and Mechanics
paintmyhouse replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gannon comparison holds no water at all. It is a complete farce to say he was on bad teams. He played for the Vikings for 6 seasons, and they made the playoffs in 4 of them. He just happened to play behind Wade Wilson who was not that bad, but got hurt a lot. He played 4 years in KC and in two of them they were 13-3 and in 2 of them they were over .500 in 3 of them, they just had guys ahead of him like Steve Bono and Grbac. Gannon was always decent, this is the complete misconception. He just had guys that were successful, played well, and went to the playoffs who were ahead of him on the depth chart. There is a major, complete major difference in Gannon and Fitzpatrick, and they are not even close to the same story or player. Fitz was a backup on all back teams, Gannon was a backup on all good teams, when Fitz finally got to start he was terrible, absolutely awful, and when Gannon got to start he was instant money, a pro bowl level player. Please never compare Fitzpatrick to any player that was a good QB, Fitzpatrick should never be an NFL starter. -
Doesn't matter as long as I am not doing it.

More intellectual dishonesty in an attempt to discredit someone by only posting a portion of a statement. This is what people attempt to do when they have real opinion on things, smart people see right through this.

Who's next in line to win their first Super Bowl?
paintmyhouse replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on man, Fitz is better than the guy they have who is 10th all time in NFL passer rating, Texans have no chance. -
Dude started 14 games 2 years ago, is that not a whole season? The Bills were thin with Edwards out there, I love how people completely disregard that season because he did not start the first two games. Dude has the 15th most starts of all people on planet earth over the last 4 years. I thought this last year and now this year, hence several years, Big Cat is just pandering to the group that bunches together on every message board to pat each other on the back. If it makes him feel better.

Just booked my flight yesterday from the ATL! Go Bills! -
Geesh, people think I am arrogant, I guess opinions only matter if they are read by people like Big Cat on this message board or they never existed. Talk about hypocritcal.
-
So, you can read minds now? Awesome! Bills have never given Fitzpatrick ample weapons. I have always said that, but go ahead and be try and be dishonest and making it appear I represent an opinion formulated in your head. Intellectually dishonest posting by you.

Gaughan Fitz Article Re: D. Lee and Mechanics
paintmyhouse replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
18 guys that qualified for QB stats had over 60%. Even Josh Freeman finished just ahead of Fitz at 62.6. The problem is Fitz has no intermediate to long game, he has no arm at all. Of the 18 over 60%, Fitz was in 17th place in YPA, Fitz has redefined begin Captain Checkdown, he is the original and definition of being Captain Checkdown. There are wow catches every game with how inaccurate Fitz is on every pass over 10 yards. He also gets his WRs killed every game because of this too. -
I have thought this for several years now, they promote Fitzpatrick, who is really not that good, and do not give him enough weapons. Makes no sense at all, it is almost like a recipe for failure. When you have a below average QB you need to be giving him more weapons. I do not believe the Bills have done this.

Who's next in line to win their first Super Bowl?
paintmyhouse replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poorly worded. Falcons have the best chance, but I think it is right now, being this year or next year. However, I do not believe that will happen. The Panthers have a really good chance in like 3 years, and I think that is more likely to happen. That means the same old teams for the next few seasons. -

I would say the Panthers or Falcons. Falcons sooner, and Panthers later, but I think Falcons will not and Panthers have a chance in like 2-3 years. -

Bills named one of 2 AFC "breakout" teams

Raiders had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year. Tied for Bills with points allowed per game and allowed more yards per game. -

paintmyhouse replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wouldn't be a bad idea, I mean, they have met in the Super Bowl twice in the last 5 years. In the AFC only 3 teams have gone the Super Bowl in last 8 years. My point is actually Bills are not the only teams that has made changes, and they did not change the position of QB in which they have a guy one of the weakest starting players at and his stats, his record, and his career show that to be true. In the last 5 years here is who has played in the Super Bowl: Tom Brady Eli Manning Peyton Manning Drew Brees Ben Rothlisburger Kurt Warner Aaron Rodgers All likely end up in the HOF, 6 of them I believe will already get in on what they have already accomplished, just Rodgers has more to do. -
Other Teams Afraid of the Big Bad Bills
paintmyhouse replied to Brand J's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If their coaches and scouts believe it, then yes. They are not that close to being all that good. I think teams will begin to take risks higher on QBs now with the rookie wage scale. I think Moore is a decent enough QB at this point to complete for 2nd place with the Bills and Jets. For right now it is the right choice, the owner and the fans wanted it and they have been playing to some not so full stadiums. I wish the Bills took him. I would have said the same thing. He does not have to play right now. I think Buffalo would have taken him at 10 had Miami not taken him. The new QB rule for the extra roster spot allows teams to keep 3 QBs now and not expose a QB to the practice squad.
