  1. Im so glad the dolphins chose culpepper over brees
  2. these are my observations based on watching on television. I'm not a fan of Murray because he is short and has looked very average in big spots. Landry Jones is terribly inaccurate whenver there is pressure. But both of those guys will play in the NFL. McCarron and Klein I doubt will play in the league. Both lack arm talent. Barkley and Smith are the most talented and worthy of a first round pick, although neither are in the same class as Luck/RG3. Neither have elite arm strength, but are good enough. Both have good accuracy.
  3. did you see collin klein, heisman frontrunner, roll Ok St tonight? Would love to see him in a bills uniform next year. Actually, I would mind, because he is a good college quarterback who doesnt translate to the NFL, just like McCarron granted, Klein lacks accuracy and McCarron lacks arm strength, but neither are NFL starters
  4. not trying to prove a point or avoid any argument...just throwing a theory out there
  5. They're all soft defensively, year in and year out. When has any of those teams had a defense that won games for them ala Bama, LSU, Mich st, etc there are exceptions to every example. Just trying to ignite some conversation. Seems to me spread offenses genereally produce soft defenses. Certainly is the case here in Buffalo the last three years. We have had bad defenses in the past, but never this soft until the spread came in
  6. is there something fundamental about why teams that run the spread offense generally struggle defensively? this seems to be particularly evident in college. Oregon, Ok St, West Virginia, Texas AM, Mizzou, Clemson, many others, all run spread and every year struggle defensively. The Bills and Panthers run the closest things to a college Spread in the NFL and have been consistently terrible defensively since doing so. So I ask, is there something about facing spread personnel every day in practice that makes a defense particularly soft, or staright up sucky?
  7. The bulls have a website you know
  8. There is a pretty good site that I read that has the bills as their play of the week. Lots of trends showing it may be closer than you think. 87 percent of the money has been coming in on Houston and that is never a good sign. Houston at 7-0 with Chicago coming up next week on Sunday night football. Double digit spread? I'm staying away from it
  9. I wouldn't get my hopes up this weekend. This Texans team is about as bad of a matchup as it gets. Last time we faced a team that plays this style it was 45-3. And the texans have a better passing game than SF.
  10. Depends on the scheme. Some teams will rely on the corner getting a jam on the WR to disrupt timing, then let him go if he gets to a certain depth. Some will have the MLB run with a TE going deep Safeties do not always have deep coverage responsibility. For example, in a generic cover 3, the strong safety has flat responsibility (0-10 yards) while corner, free safety and corner split the deep coverage into thirds http://www.google.com/imgres?q=cover+3&num=10&hl=en&biw=1229&bih=631&tbm=isch&tbnid=uixdPTr9qjB23M:&imgrefurl=http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Inside-the-playbook-Cover-3.html&docid=V8hXkrJiteYG3M&imgurl=http://cdn.cloudfiles.mosso.com/c1910342/media_center/images/static/total_access/Cover%2525203.png&w=528&h=397&ei=VEaPUJfHGcfo0gHN14C4DA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=522&vpy=44&dur=159&hovh=195&hovw=259&tx=60&ty=108&sig=100348659315593332682&page=1&tbnh=139&tbnw=185&start=0&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,i:143
  11. Two deep safeties are each responsible for zone coverage (deep half of the field). Linebackers responsible for hook to curl zone coverage in middle of the field Corners are usually in jam technique and have flat zone coverage 0-10 yards Weakness in pass coverage of a 2 deep zone is typically the seam or in the hole (15 yards) over the top of the corner and beneath the half safety http://www.google.com/imgres?q=cover+2&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1229&bih=631&tbm=isch&tbnid=f0DJdRczjF4sWM:&imgrefurl=http://holyschwartz.wordpress.com/2011/09/22/how-to-stop-the-vikings/&docid=V6I4i0f_21vyjM&imgurl=http://holyschwartz.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/cover2.png&w=729&h=570&ei=fUKPUOWYGOn00gGD6IHwDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=313&vpy=301&dur=3108&hovh=198&hovw=254&tx=123&ty=100&sig=100348659315593332682&page=2&tbnh=140&tbnw=180&start=15&ndsp=25&ved=1t:429,i:185
