  1. I voted Wade. He would be the best quality coach for the Bills. He is able to create an defense that makes the most of whatever talent he is given. I hope they keep the aggressive style of play though, but become more disciplined about the run and setting the edge. But it does not matter what I want, Marrone has shown me poor judgement in coaching decisions other than Pettine, and will go with Henderson or O'neil. Although I think the Bill's will not hold O'neil back, and will let him follow Pettine.
  2. The 49ers are just one or two players away from a Superbowl next year. Anquan Boldin and Mario Manningham are FA and Crabtree is in his last year. So a top WR could be a priority for SF. A number 9 could conceivably give them their pick at WR. They have a large number of picks. They could give Buffalo their 30th (1st); 55th, 62nd (2nd); and 94th (3rd) in exchange for Buffalo’s #9 & Buffalo’s 7th rounder. They would get a top 10 pick and still have a low mid 3rd round pick. With the 30, 41, 55, 62, 73, 94th picks in the top 100 Buffalo could get: Possibly AJS or another TE or one of the Richardsons for the Oline in the first Slov lb in 2nd Antony Steen or Zack Martin og with the high 2nd and a pick for BPA in a need area Or Gabe Jackson or Tre Jackson for Oline in the 3rd and BPA in a need area. Mettenberger, Boyd or McCarron QB in the 4th
  3. No doubt you are right,it would be insane for the Eagles to do so, but we could dream. As you say,the Bills could truly transform into a playoff team in a single year with those six picks. It would be a no brainer, even for the Bill's management. Even a single trade with the Eagles picks 1,2,3,5 could give us 5 good picks in the first 3, which could transform the Bills.
  4. Is there a good chart showing the position numbers of all the draft picks for all the teams? I have not found a decent one.
  5. If this helps. Here is the Drafttek trade value chart. http://www.drafttek....tradechart.html Our #9 is worth 1350
  6. We already had a good thread where someone proposed trading with the Browns. Now it appears they may want to trade up from their own 1st pick using the Indy 1st to get their QB. To all those knowledgeable individuals out there, what other potential trade partners do you see that might be willing and able to trade with the Bills to get their #9? Why would they trade, and what picks would they offer?
  7. Exactly. QB is a hole till it is filled. EJ has not done anything to prove he can fill it. Potential is just that, unproven hope, not reality. A player you say it takes patience in for them to grow into a position is not a filled hole. It is just hope and a dream. We have two quality starters on the Oline, LT and C. We have a barely passable TE. We need a LB to pair with Kiko. If Byrd is gone, we need another S. A big pass catching TE who can also block on running plays could fill our needs at both TE and WR. Goodwin has potential as a speedster to stretch the field. Woods has been passable and has potential. SJ is not a long term answer for the team at WR.
  8. I wrote it wrong, I meant to say that the compensation the Bills would get would be almost = to the compensation for a First round # 7 pick, not a #9
  9. I would take that deal in a heartbeat. It comes out way ahead for the Bills in trade value points, the compensation the Bills would get would be almost = to the compensation for a First round # 7 pick, not a # 9. I would take ASJ, a big tall, tough TE who is more like a receiver Shayne Skov, ILB , moving Kiko to the outside The best available OL prospect With one of two 3rds I would take the best available QB prospect to challenge EJ, and the BPA at an area of need. It depends on how close you think the Bills are to actually making the playoffs. If you think the Bills are really just one non-QB superstar away from the playoffs, you take the #9. Or if like me you think we are a number of pieces away, you take the trade down and try to make a serious run at the playoffs this year. I am tired of waiting. I want to give us a chance to make a serious run at the playoffs now. I don’t see us going all the way, but just want to finally at least get there after all these years.
  10. I could be wrong, they may have just been talking about the cheerleaders, but I remember Reich was always very involved in the games he was backup. Huddling with Kelly and the coaches and his clipboard while the defense was on the field. I always thought he was an extra set of eyes for Kelly during the game. Looking for weaknesses and tendencies. It seemed he was an extra member of the coaching staff even back then, A real intelligent student of the game with great QB instincts. Not just a backup waiting for the starter to get hurt and waiting for his big chance on the field like most back ups.
  11. Agreed a #9 pick this year will have some serious talent available if all the QBs are taken as expected before us. But the good luck means there will be some top rated talent there for a trade with another team. The Bills need more than one whole filled, in fact a lot of holes filed. Trading back would give us so many better options. OL talent is deep this year, as is TE talent and LB talent. We need all three. A late 1st pick and 2 2nd round picks could give us 3 excellent shots at filling holes. Three good chances at getting a real talent at positions of need are better than a #9 single chance at a potential star.
  12. Trade out ASJ for Amaro and those would make me smile. But I could live with Amaro.
  13. You can call him whatever you want. He is the consummate professional in the sport today. He wins! I know a lot of people here mock him and dislike him, but he works harder and smarter than his peers, and he is a winner because of it. The difference between Brady and the Smiths of the world is intelligence, sacrifice and hard work. I heard the interview with Belichick before the game yesterday, and he said that he, the coach, felt he was under a lot of extra pressure to be prepared when he met with Brady, the player, to prepare for the game because Brady always had already viewed all the games of the team they were preparing for and had analyzed all the tendencies on his own before they as a team even started preparing. Brady has the physical tools and skills, but the extra he brings to the game is intelligence and intense willingness to do whatever it takes to win. No matter how much sacrifice and hard work, or sacrificing of his personal ego and glory it takes for his TEAM to win. I hope he goes into OB coaching when he finally retires, he could still contribute so much to the game with the development of future QBs. He gets what it takes to be the best at what you do.
  14. Thanks. Anyone have more info on Xavier Su'a-Filo. I can't find much on him. Might be a nice 3rd round pick if he was there. Any links?
  15. Thanks for the great statistics
  16. Colt is an interesting option. No doubt he has great on field talent, but his off field issues haunt him. If he was there in the 4th I would take a chance on him. But after seeing the handling of Da'Rick by the Bills, I don't think they would do so. Colt's situation is 10x worse than his was. Some team will take a chance ,and will either waste a pick or hit the jackpot with him.
  17. This. I thought he was referring to both Cyril & my original post of Antonio "Tiny" Richardson. I'll add this question. If we were to trade down and pick up an extra pick in the 2nd, who would you recommend picking for: 1.) OL in the 2nd , and why? 2.) TE in the 2nd, and why? 3.) WR in the 2nd, and why? Please be realistic, we have really lucked out getting Glenn in the 2nd, but do you think we will be that lucky again? I'm open to learning about new options and names, please say why we should choose them and/or give links. Thanks for helping to inform me.
  18. No, it is not bad Luck, it is simply bad choices. And any amount of dreaming will never turn EJ into a Luck. Our bad luck in Buffalo is that we have the FO we have.
  19. I don't know much about Yankey, I will have to watch him at the combine. I thought Swanson was a center.
  20. Okay, we get you hate Richardson. Based on his strong points and the needs of the Bills I felt he was a best possible fit based on availability in the late first or early 2nd rounds. I never claimed he was a sure fire, top shelf superstar. You name a OL player who reasonably will be available in the late 1st or early 2nd that is strong on 'road grading ' for the runner and protecting the passer. He has the arms, the skills and the physical gifts to do what the Bills need. I don’t see a Zack Martin, Cyril Richardson, Jake Matthews or a Cyrus Kouandjio being there at that point. You are into the 2nd tier talent at that point. The whole idea is to trade back and get more quality picks in the first 3 rounds to fill multiple holes, rather than put all your hopes on a single superstar player who may or may not develop.
  21. No, Name: Antonio Richardson College: Tennessee Number: 74 Height: 6-6 Weight: 327 Position: OT Pos2: OG As I stated, I would trade down and take the OT in the late 1st or early 2nd. Some draft mocks would even have him available at our 2nd round pick, if we took our TE ASJ with a low first to keep him from NE. I would not draft an Oline with a high pick like a #9, but would with a low pick from trading down. Lewan would be a great pick, but I wouldn't take a OT with a #9. I don't see him still being there with a lower pick. The chances of getting a trade for a top 10 pick are extremely good. I posted a historical analysis of just how good they were last year. Of course everything is chance.
  22. Unless Manziel magically falls to us at 9, which now that Mariota is out is quite unrealistic. I’m not anywhere near sold that EJ is a Franchise QB, if Manziel was there I would take him. Otherwise, if McCarron, Boyd or Murray are still there in the 3rd, select the best QB to challenge EJ. I think any of the three have almost as much potential as EJ had last year when he was drafted. Offensive line is glaring weakness, and as much as I like Mack at LB, we have too many needs, and need the extra picks. There is a lot of excellent OL line talent this year that would go lower than he will, without a huge drop in potential return to the team. And 2nd round LB, and talent in general is again excellent this year. Trade back, picking up another 2nd round pick and maybe even another 3rd or 4th, depending on the position of the pick. In the 1st Select: Antonio Richardson, OT “a massive offensive tackle with the ability to re-route pass rushers and be a road-grader in the ground game” Or if he is gone, Taylor Lewan, OT “lateral agility and balance in his kick-slide to maintain the edge, while also possessing the strength to lock up his opponent” Select in the 2nd: Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE 2nd. Not a burner for speed, but we have Goodwin for that. Big and reliable, with good hands and that big target we need in the middle. This negates the need for the pick of the big WR early, letting us get one in the 3rd or 4th. Shayne Skov, ILB 2nd. Shift Kiko to OLB where he is well suited and let Skov cover the middle and the run. If we don’t select a QB in the 3rd. Select a big WR in the 3rd. Or in the 4th. To fill the hole that Da’ Rick might have filled. Fill up on OL potential and needs using the rest of the picks.
  23. Always thought Smith was a great pick. If he just could pair up with a great OC, he could take a team all the way.
