  1. Has anyone seen or read how Mills is doing at RT this preseason. I read a quote from a fellow teammate saying how good he looked. I wonder if it was just a teammate being a cheerleader for his fellow teammate, or has he really looked good at RT. Dawkins will hopefully get some time at RT to challenge Mills when he does not have to fill in at LT. Has he actually looked good enough to be up to the challenge?
  2. I know the last game last year was traumatic, but it did happen. LoL
  3. I "hate" that the Bills did not take a chance on a local boy and that he turned out to be one of the best at his position in years. But I understand it was a risky gamble because of his injury history. The Pats were the team with the balls that took a chance and threw the dice, and they won. The odds were not good, but they won big.
  4. Sounds a lot like a partial tank philosophy to me. Let us not try to be a competitive team again for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, let us just pretend we are trying to be competitive for 20 straight years. I at least want to be able to pretend we are trying to be competitive, even if we are not. Adding Maclin makes it easier for me to pretend and not feel so much like a fool while I'm do it.
  5. I don't have the footage to evaluate your assumption. But from my memory, when a pass play breaks down, and Tyrod scrambles, he usually instinctively goes directly to the run, trusting his legs to bail him out. I don't remember him scanning the field looking for receivers breaking their routes for him very often. Maybe someone who has researched Tyrod can give us the scoop on his tendencies when a pass play breaks down.
  6. While I understand Not overpaying Woods, I think you severely undervalue what Woods brought to the game for the Bills. Not just as a receiver, but as a blocker for Taylor and the running game when the pass plays broke down. Which happened way too often. Jones is already hurt, and is a total question mark at receiver until we see him in the regular season. He is a glimmer of hope, but as this point is just a dream, not a reality. Neither Holmes or Brown has shown themselves to be a #2 WR, much less a # 3. Maybe one could outperform their history and become a decent #3 (Goodwin's replacement). But based on their past history, they could also both end up being #4 talent as well.
  7. I expect between 5-7 wins. Just enough to ruin our draft potential.Thank you for that extra 1st round pick Whaley! A true valuable parting gift.
  8. Kyle is the only one when he retires. Not a lot of greats in the past decade. Some above average, but no greats.
  9. Thank you John for providing a perfect example of a fan number 2 type post for me.
  10. Actually I see two types of fans here. 1.) Those that actually care about football as a game, they share facts, knowledge. When they disagree with you, they use actual facts and football knowledge to state their case. 2.) Those that just want to express their views and have others reinforce their views without question. They don’t criticize the players, management, the league. They instead criticize other fans that don’t agree with them, they immediately insult them using “your momma” type put downs. They think they are witty, funny, and entertaining. They are not. They instead criticize the media for spreading negatives about anything they don’t believe. They prefer to “kill the messenger” rather than put the blame on the players and Management who actually make the difference between being a winner or loser.
  11. 17 years and full steam ahead in the same direction.
  12. How about a single consolidated thread for the "Kool Aid " drinkers like you. This board would be down to 2 or three unreadable threads if we did that. Save a lot of threads.
  13. I never thought about it this way. In a perfect world this would be great. We already have 2 1st rounds next year, so we would have 3 next year to get our QB. Or use the 2019 1st rounder as a sweetener to trade up for our QB. Or use that 2019 to move up after we get our QB and still get a round 1 WR to replace him in addition to our new QB..Sounds like a smart move by the Bills when you put it that way.
  14. Drink More KOOL-AID, Kool-aid is Good!
  15. Judge someone by results, not excuses. Fact, the Bills are severely crippled in their ability to build a winning team due to the cap. Contracts are not structured well with terms such as Dareus who has obvious off field issues that affect the team. Too much problem with dead cap on players that obviously are past their prime. Too much kicking the can down the road and constant "we will worry about it later" issues. Contracts, cap and negotiations are his job. Look at our record the past two years on RFA offers, for a few dollars more, their would have been no drama. Contracts, cap and bad negotiations are a major problem for the Bills. That is his Job, he failed at his job, period. And trusting Pegula to make the right decisions as a sports owner is questionable. His record with the Sabres and the Bills so far as an owner in giving the fans a winning team is abysmal. Other than his owning the Bills kept the Bills in Buffalo, he has done the sports fans in Buffalo no favors.
  16. I have been thinking about multiple trade downs. It could reasonably be possible to end up with 3 2nd round picks in this year's draft by trading out of the first round completely with 2 trade downs. With such a deep draft at our positions of need, there could be 3 quality starters at our positions of need available in the 2nd. Would you be satisfied getting 3 quality starters in the first two rounds, or would you prefer to take your chances on standing pat and getting 2 starters in the first two rounds? Or do you think there will be a 1st round player that will be a guaranteed superstar who will put the Bills in the Superbowl?
  17. Football is a game. Football is a business. Players are resources you use to win a game. I don't worship players, I don't look for them to be be role models. I look for them to help the team win the games. I care what they do on the field to help the team win games and to not make the team less successful on the field. I don't care what a person is like off the field. I want positive results on the field. I don't care about "character" off the field. They are not priests, saints or mentors. They are football players.
  18. The actual stadium is never really about the economic benefit to the host community. Whoever hosts it, it will cost many times more than whatever minimal game day activity it brings in. A dozen or two businesses and a few land speculators will profit heavily, but everyone else will pay more for their benefit.
  19. As was mentioned. It is about dollars and control of content. Facebook is meant for for quick comments, not for discussions. It is also about the changing target markets. The boomers were more into serious discussions, longer attention spans. BBs like this have more appeal to an older demographic. We don't have that short attention span of the MTV generation and younger. Many of us like facts, knowledge and information. Younger generations grow up expecting everything to be hand fed in splashy, easy digestible 30 second video bytes. BBS users often want more detail than just quick opinions and comments, we want useful information, proof and depth. The Bills do not want informed fans, they want fans that accept quick excuses and just accept what the corporate interests want to feed them. They want the fans to vent when they are upset, forget about it and immediately move on to another different thought, just happy to have vented. For a team with the Bills lousy record of delivering a quality product, the Bills need fans with very short attention spans, lol.
  20. Hey, just ask the hoodie, not everyone knows how to properly inflate the ball for the maximum advantage for your team,LOL!
  21. "Bills coach Sean McDermott says he believes his No. 2 receiver behind Sammy Watkins is already on the roster. That would presumably tamper talk that Bills will find their starting wideout with the No. 10 pick next month. Andre Holmes probably leads the pack of competition alongside Watkins." Two options here, either McDermott is a habitual liar and this is a smokescreen or he is an incompetent fool. Either way he has already lost any possibility of me having any faith in him being a decent HC.
  22. I admit I have never read the book. I seriously don't know the philosophy behind it. Is "Moneyball" about actually seriously trying to win the whole thing, like the Superbowl or Series? Or is it about making "Money" as an owner, while doing just barely enough to not alienate the fans so much they don't buy the product? Are the analytics really about the players, or is it actually about learning just where the breaking point is between people buying your product or giving up on the team, so you can spend the absolute minimum on having a team, while making the maximum profit?
  23. The fact is that trades are extremely common in the draft. Whether or not it is stupid or not is not the issue. There were over 20 trades in the last year's draft. 5 were in the first round, 2 were for QBs in the first round. They are common and will be common yet again this year, smart or stupid. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2016-nfl-draft-trade-tracker/
