  1. Love the conspiracy theory that suggests that rule was put into place to give the refs more control to manipulate the final point totals for gambling purposes. It's completely ridiculous but just reasonable enough to entertain it.
  2. Bills - 28 Buccaneers - 17 This will be followed up by a stinker in Houston on Thursday night. Strap in, boys, the rollercoaster continues!
  3. It's really sad to look back on. That was the year. Everything had fallen into place. They were peaking at the right time. All lost because our coaching staff didn’t understand that a touchback doesn't run any time off the clock. Or that a team with three timeouts doesn't need to use the sidelines. I will go to my grave believing that McDermott knowingly ceded a field goal attempt because he preferred that to risking a long pass to Hill. It's just disgusting to think about the overall incompetence and cowardice.
  4. It's bizarre, and it's not because of player safety either. If they cared about that, we wouldn't have 17-game schedules, Thursday Night Football, or regular season games in places like Brazil and Germany. Combine the goofy kickoff with allowing the placekickers to use different balls so that they can make 70-yard FGs, and you're looking at (what I believe is) a perversion of the game.
  5. Is it just a coincidence that multiple guys who used to be able to get open (Diggs, Knox, Shakir, Samuel, Moore, etc.) under other OCs happen to struggle mightily with Joe Brady in that role?
  6. I like the conspiracy theory that the league is allowing kickers to use the juiced-up, doctored balls this year because they wanted anyone else to have the longest FG record.
  7. Maybe McDermott can hook him up with his new optometrist.
  8. Teams generally take on the identity of their coach. Fiery, inspirational coaches tend to have teams with a lot of heart. Milquetoast coaches who vacillate between being emotionless and panicking under high-stress moments? Well...
  9. A lot of parallels with Allen and Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the cinematic classic "Major League II."
  10. Don't see the ol' coffin corner punt too much anymore
  11. The team is almost certainly doing this right now. You can tell that Allen has been told not to take off running. I get it to some degree (he did hurt himself immediately last season running the ball), but I also agree with you that you can't just assume you'll end up with a favorable playoff seeding.
  12. I was kinda surprised at how many Bills fans found that opening press conference endearing and just chalked it up to people being excited about our top pick, but that is not what you want from a key cog in your organization.
  13. Want to see him playing on Sunday. None of this "We gotta get him coached up/He needs to learn the system" crap, McDermott.
  14. They'll win this game because last week will probably light a brief fire under them, then turn around and drop the TNF game against Houston. I full expect a rollercoaster the rest of the way and hope that our 4-0 start gives us enough cushion to get to the tournament.
  15. This is exactly what has happened, and it's completely altered his confidence. This coaching style has ruined lesser QBs' careers because it leads to them second-guessing everything rather than just going out there and playing.
  16. What McDermott doesn't get is that an interception here and there, particularly on longer throws, doesn't matter if the offense is keeping the opposing defense on its heels. He built a defense that works best when the other team is behind and has to throw, and paired it with an offense that doesn't complement that strategy in any way. But we're talking about the same guy who thinks that the best offense for Josh Allen is one made for Chad Pennington.
  17. This reminds me of a recent restaurant review I read where the person gave the establishment one star because she saw a couple of cigarette butts in the parking lot.
  18. Kinda tired of retreads, particularly when it comes to guys who have already been cut. There have to be fresh options out there.
  19. Most mismatched coach and QB in NFL history. It's led to a form of purgatory that will continue moving forward.
  20. The quick slant was our bread-and-butter play with Diggs and Beasley, especially on 3rd down, and Brady completely abandoned it.

I really dislike what they are as a team. Soft, lifeless, no fire whatsoever. It is obvious that they desperately need a complete culture change at this point along with a revamped roster. They had their chance and blew it. Time to give someone else a crack at it in the probably three-year window where Allen is still an elite QB.
  22. He doesn't excel at anything. I don't care about PFF grades; let me hear his name mentioned on the broadcast more than once a month.
  23. DEs who can't rush the passer are borderline worthless, in my opinion. Who cares how well he sets the edge or whatever? You don't give those guys giant contracts.
  24. They just got their doors blown off by a 2-7 team who has completely given up on the season. At what point is it "rational" to be concerned?
  25. I don't think he even wants to play until he's that old. We've got 2-3 season, tops, to win the Super Bowl, in my opinion.
