  1. Isn't Olave prone to concussions? I could be mixing him up with someone else.
  2. There were lots of people on this board who were justifiably concerned at 4-0 and said that this wasn't close to a Super Bowl team, and it was received about as well as a fart in church. The playoffs are not a certainty.
  3. That will require a three-month offseason retreat to McDermott Farms to be effectively coached up for such a drastic change.
  4. Just throwing this out there...if I knew that I wanted to retire early because I wasn't completely enamored of football, I would approach secondary income like endorsement deals with the exact same intensity that he has the past 12-18 months.
  5. Squeaking into the playoffs at like 10-7 with zero expectations (and thus, little pressure) might be a blessing in disguise. Would definitely suck not having one last playoff game at the Ralph, though.
  6. Our line is clearly better at run blocking than pass blocking, and they were getting positive rushes every time between the tackles while having zero idea how to stop those blitzes. There is a real issue with stubbornness in regard to the coaching staff.
  7. You can pretty much tell if they are going to run or pass by whether Cook is in the game or not. It's bizarre how little they care about being so predictable.
  8. Mike Tolbert to fix our short-yardage woes.
  9. Optometrist: "Can you read that first line for me?" McDermott: "K L P M D." Optometrist: "Not quite. Do you want to try the line above it?" McDermott: "No, I want to do the same line again. K L P M D." Optometrist: "Still not right. Maybe we'll try a stronger prescription." McDermott: "No. I can get it. Alright, let's see...K L P M D."
  10. That's assuming they make the playoffs.
  11. I've always felt like he'll retire early, and the fact that he is clearly trying to make as much money as fast as he possibly can through endorsements makes me worry that we might have an Andrew Luck-type situation where he hangs them up at 30ish.
  12. I vividly remember that call, and the fact that they ultimately won never excused it. He was playing not to lose, like always. I still maintain that he knowingly and willingly conceded a long FG attempt in the 13 Seconds game to avoid giving up a possible big TD pass.
  13. I hate virtually everything about our offensive strategy. It is weak, gimmicky crap - the type of stuff a college team runs when their QB will immediately be converted to WR as soon as he gets to the NFL.
  14. The 90s players wouldn't have bought into any of the completely stale and clichéd Process stuff. Just from a public speaking and motivational standpoint, McDermott is a huge downgrade from Levy.
  15. Yeah, if you are bringing in fewer than 40 catches a year with QBs like Herbert and Allen, and you're the #2 receiver...not good.
  16. How did he look with Joe Brady, though?
  17. You are misremembering. When they were losing to the Urban Meyer Jags and Zach Wilson Jets, nobody thought it was because we were lacking in talent or just playing a better team. This team, this year, is just not good. They lost to Atlanta and NE because those squads are collectively better than ours.
  18. They were underachieving in past seasons when they went into slumps. What we saw last night and last week just kind of feels like what they are.
  19. Don't get me wrong - we desperately need more talent at WR...it's just that Brady is probably not going to find ways to scheme him open or get the ball to him enough. His entire playcalling philosophy is completely off-base.
  20. We're I think we're about 18 months away, tops, from hearing some rumblings about him wanting a trade unless some big changes are made. He understands that his career is already half-over.
  21. They've been here before - having weeks at a time where they looked terrible - but what's concerning is that in past seasons when this happened, it was obvious that they were just underachieving. This team, on the other hand, looks like they are just bad. The roster outside of a few guys seems awful.
  22. I have serious doubts that this coaching staff could even utilize a top-tier receiver correctly, if we had one.
  23. Do you guys honestly think Beane is deciding, of his own accord, to use the first five draft picks on defense? To use multiple free agency signings on defensive linemen with steroid suspensions looming? Every thing on this team is downstream of McDermott.
  24. He's effed up the cap situation so badly and gave out so many ill-advised monster deals to JAGs that it isn't even an attractive job, despite Allen being on the team.
  25. Dropping a game-tying pick six is so Bills. Welcome to the team, Shaq. You fit right in.
