  1. Bill Polian floated the idea of him playing WR, so now we have to rally around him and pretend that he's in the same league as Allen and Mahomes and Burrow. I think I'd much rather have Herbert and Hurts over than him too.
  2. Age catching up to Tucker...I'll bet he's missed more kicks in the past 20 games than he did in the previous decade.
  3. Deshaun Watson was suspended without being formally charged with anything too...the whole system seems pretty arbitrary.
  4. I remember Roethlisberger getting put on the shelf for 6 games without even being charged with a crime...
  5. Exactly the same. I wonder sometimes if I would stop watching altogether if the Bills ever won a Super Bowl.
  6. This game has smelled funky to me for a few weeks. Arizona - 24 Bills - 16
  7. Going out on a limb and predicting an all-L.A. Super Bowl. Chargers with a good coach will be dangerous, and I think Stafford has one more great year left.
  8. I rarely watch either if the Bills aren't playing. I'm a "1 PM EST" man.
  9. Wrong. It IS strange. If you're going to have that policy, make it uniform. Domestic violence - suspended X amount of games Drug possession - suspended X amount of games. The case-by-case basis he has adopted is absurd.
  10. Goodell's personal conduct policy has always been ridiculous and totally arbitrary. Does he still do the weird thing where when the player meets with him about an indiscretion, the length of the suspension is based on how contrite he seems during their "talk"?
  11. Would be very interesting the see the alternate universes where Allen is a Chief and Raven. I think you're looking at multiple SB appearances for him under each scenario.
  12. That is the hardest you can hit a QB and still stay within the current-day rules. Milano absolutely baptized him.
  13. He's a good coach, and a better innovator on offense than anything we've had since Daboll. They've constructed a team, though, that is going to need to get home-field to get to the Super Bowl. All the other powerhouses in the AFC play outdoors in the cold, and I don't know if I've seen a team pack it up in bad weather quite like they did in KC last year.
  14. I remember reading that story too. Hilarious. I'll bet he's fun to party with haha.
  15. I haven't read one of these in years, and wow, time has not been kind to this column.
  16. Smart move by him. If he had been traded to, like, Pittsburgh or New England, he would've been destined to be one of those WRs who crushes it on a powerful offense, then severely disappoints with his new team.
  17. It's not terribly rare. Lots of great QBs started as backups. If getting through free agency is an issue for the Bills, maybe they should try to draft one, right? Zero picks allotted to that position since Allen was taken.
  18. Agree 100%, but we don't have that right now. Didn't have it last year either. The year before that, they chose to let Allen take zero games off with an injury on his throwing arm rather than play Keenum for one single game. It's kind of an issue, particularly when you have a QB that plays the way Allen does.
  19. Foles was a backup for Vick when he had that great year in 2013. Vick was previously brought in to backup Kevin Kolb. Tony Romo, Dak Prescott, Ryan Tannehill with Tennessee, Doug Flutie with the Bills, Brett Favre with Green Bay...all backups before they started. We don't try to draft or develop anyone for that position.
  20. Deshaun Watson went out in November last year, and Cleveland finished with a better record than the Bills did because they had a solid backup.
  21. As the roster stands, this statement is true, and has been for years. But why is that acceptable, particularly when you have a team that is supposedly in contention for the Super Bowl? I'll bet the 1990 Giants, 2001 Patriots, and 2017 Eagles were all glad to have capable backups when their starter went down, but we punt on this position every year it seems. Kansas City sure didn't.
  22. Honest question - what about the NFL now is objectively better than it was in the pre-Goodell era?
  23. If you polled NFL GMs only, the discrepancy would be even larger, significantly so in fact. Allen would be favored by at least 90% of them, at a minimum.
