  1. Literally no one cares about that if a guy whose job is to rush the passer is getting double-digit sacks every season. Stop dodging the question - should a 1st-round DE get a huge second contract if he doesn't ever get 10 sacks on his first contract?
  2. Here's the only thing that matters when comparing Allen and Jackson: The Ravens would trade Lamar for Allen straight-up in a heartbeat, and the Bills would never make that deal.
  3. Fine, can we agree that a first-round draft pick who was taken solely for his pass-rushing ability shouldn't at least have one 10-sack year on his first contract before getting a big extension?
  4. They are markedly better than Rousseau's first four years (so far), though. His best season is 8 sacks, and he got nearly all those during a period when Von Miller was playing with his hair on fire. As soon as he went down, Rousseau disappeared. I mean, he's a good player, but he probably should get a gigantic contract when you still have to extend consistent playmakers like Shakir and Benford (and possibly Cooper).
  5. He probably look like a new man once he gets there, but the Bills defense can still neutralize him on a good day. Should be an interesting second half of the season.
  6. This is 100% true, despite all the homers getting mad at you for bringing it up, and it's been going on for years. They start out flat most games and definitely have an issue with underestimating opponents they view to be inferior. Fans can look though the rose-colored glasses all they want, but the fact remains that we've played two teams who currently have a winning record, fell down by three scores to each early, and lost both games. The slow starts just can't happen against other top squads. This week will be a good test.
  7. It's not so much that they missed, but that he was only picked because they felt the need to draft ANOTHER defensive lineman despite taking one a round earlier, taking one with their first pick the year before, and taking one with a top-10 pick the year before that. They drafted Allen in 2018 and then did not use their first pick on offense again until 2023. Who does that with a high-end QB?
  8. Those things look absolutely ridiculous...I would need to see some definitive evidence that they actually even work before wearing one.
  9. It's going to awhile for him to get to Brady/New England levels of ref favoritism. Their games were officiated like WWE matches.
  10. At least with Ford, we needed an offensive lineman and he was viewed by many as a 1st rounder. We took Basham right after selecting Rousseau. What a colossally dumb pick that had McDermott's hands all over it.
  11. Playing the team the first time I ever saw a lateral called as backwards where a guy threw it at the 29 and the other guy caught it at the 31.
  12. I think that's the only reason for signing a guy this undistinguished. Ironically, I think a meek guy like Bass would benefit much more mentally from the team assuring him that they won't cut him, so just go out there and let 'er rip without overthinking every kick.
  13. Hold up a sec...that is the date of the OJ chase. Amari Cooper was born on the day of the OJ chase. Is this a sign?
  14. Out best combo, but why don't we wear the old throwbacks anymore? My theory is that they are going to move to those full-time once the new stadium opens and are trying to build the fans' desire to see them in the meantime, but that's a complete guess.
  15. You ever work at a place where promotions seem to be done by seniority rather than performance? I think there is a bit of that element with a McDermott roster.
  16. Having a poor man's Janikowski would honestly be fun
  17. I mean, the guy has been a prominent NFL starter for years. Anyone working in football should have a pretty good idea what he can do.
  18. I like how McDermott is saying that he will need to evaluate his skillset, like this guy hasn't been a prominent NFL starter for the better part of a decade. Watch Cooper barely play on Sunday because the other guys are "more familiar with the playback at this juncture."
  19. He's lived up to his potential far more than Curtis Samuel has.
  20. McDermott is already being a wet blanket because Beane didn't try to pick up a ninth rotational DT. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/sean-mcdermott-on-amari-cooper-well-get-him-up-to-speed-and-see-how-he-fits-in
  21. Great, great player. Gets it done despite having to deal with multiple anchors every year.
  22. He gets tough yards and is reliable with the ball. He'll be a factor when the weather gets bad.
  23. That PI call on Benford when we stopped a 3rd and long was horrific. That's a call that completely changes the course of a game. Virtually no contact, and you give a team down by three a huge bailout to continue a game-winning drive. The league could fix the officiating, but they repeatedly choose not to. The "waiting to hear what the crew in NY says from upstairs" nonsense is their "solution," but its also the shadiest thing imaginable and shouldn't even be part of the game.
  24. I like it, but I don't. A big reason for the zero picks is that Brady doesn't seem to call nearly enough downfield passes. I'm okay with a few arm punt INTs as long as they let Allen bring the cannon out of the barn.
  25. McDermott isn't throwing after all the grief he caught last week.
