I can't believe the Bills fans on this thread who insist that they don't lose in insanely improbable ways at any higher frequency than any other team. I'll just assume they're 15 years old.
The fact that McDermott clearly hasn't learned a single thing over the last few years regarding clock management and timeout usage is very troubling. Couple that with the fact that he is a defensive coach whose defense routinely disappears in big games - games where he seemingly can't make adjustments at any point - and you have to ask yourself where he is actually contributing.
There are lots of guys who can consistently go 11-6 or 12-5 or whatever with Josh Allen as their QB In a relatively weak division. I'm not sure how much longer he can hang his hat on that.
If they don't win a Super Bowl during the Allen era, it will be a tremendous failure. I know the drought was brutal, but this attitude of "Everything is gravy as long as I get to see them win an occasional playoff game" is maddening.
Some of us actually understand that the goal is to win the Super Bowl, not just make the playoffs. Our coach is an idiot, and he's wasting the career of the best football player to ever live, and it's infuriating.
Zero chance he came back with the intention of sitting on the bench or mentoring younger players. Zero. At the very least, he's been told he will have the opportunity to play, if not start.
For everyone over 35...this team kinda feels like they've got it. I was a child during the early-90s Bills years, and I had confidence they could always win. I am 40 and have that feeling again.
