Around the NFL - Week 11 games (no Bills talk in this thread please)

Not tanking, but they don't care if they lose either. Look at how Miami did the same thing on 4th and goal. -

I think if they were 7-3 instead of 3-7, they probably would have. -

Going from an iconic logo to the most generic one imaginable has consequences. -
According to Cover 1, Coleman will be a healthy scratch
T.E. replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If true, this is reminiscent of the Maybin situation. Terrible production, disliked by coaches, healthy scratch. Next step is off the team, unfortunately. -
He has six total targets this year. Six. Kincaid is playing roughly a third of the snaps. Meanwhile, the receiver getting the most playing time is Coleman. They have no idea how to utilize offensive players. That's why I didn't care about them not trading for Waddle. Who cares? They could get into a time machine and bring back 1998 Randy Moss, and he wouldn't do dick in this system.

Pokémon has such a ravenous collector base, so there’s a lot more transactions in that space. The popularity is unrivaled. It’s incredible what’s going on with Pokémon right now,” said CardVault co-founder Chris Costa, adding that Pokémon cards can sell for up to $1,000. Imagine explaining this to someone in like 1995.

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
T.E. replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott is very cognizant of the fact that a big-name coordinator could question his strategy or even possibly replace him, so as long as he's here, we will not have a guy like that. -
Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good
T.E. replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are currently much more likely to win the Super Bowl than the Bills are. That would be absolutely horrific for this franchise on a number of levels. -
You asked, and they listened… (Bills on Hallmark)

Looking forward to watching this and then being utterly ashamed of myself upon its conclusion. -
Peyton Manning joins Josh Allen to help Buffalo break curse

I thought this was going to be about maximizing the amount of endorsement deals you have as a player. -
dynamic kickoffs - will they last? (The Athletic)

Love the conspiracy theory that suggests that rule was put into place to give the refs more control to manipulate the final point totals for gambling purposes. It's completely ridiculous but just reasonable enough to entertain it. -
Week 11, Bucs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
T.E. replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills - 28 Buccaneers - 17 This will be followed up by a stinker in Houston on Thursday night. Strap in, boys, the rollercoaster continues! -
It's really sad to look back on. That was the year. Everything had fallen into place. They were peaking at the right time. All lost because our coaching staff didn’t understand that a touchback doesn't run any time off the clock. Or that a team with three timeouts doesn't need to use the sidelines. I will go to my grave believing that McDermott knowingly ceded a field goal attempt because he preferred that to risking a long pass to Hill. It's just disgusting to think about the overall incompetence and cowardice.

dynamic kickoffs - will they last? (The Athletic)
T.E. replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's bizarre, and it's not because of player safety either. If they cared about that, we wouldn't have 17-game schedules, Thursday Night Football, or regular season games in places like Brazil and Germany. Combine the goofy kickoff with allowing the placekickers to use different balls so that they can make 70-yard FGs, and you're looking at (what I believe is) a perversion of the game. -
Joe B article - Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, Gabe Davis
T.E. replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is it just a coincidence that multiple guys who used to be able to get open (Diggs, Knox, Shakir, Samuel, Moore, etc.) under other OCs happen to struggle mightily with Joe Brady in that role?- 93 replies

I like the conspiracy theory that the league is allowing kickers to use the juiced-up, doctored balls this year because they wanted anyone else to have the longest FG record.

Maybe McDermott can hook him up with his new optometrist.

Teams generally take on the identity of their coach. Fiery, inspirational coaches tend to have teams with a lot of heart. Milquetoast coaches who vacillate between being emotionless and panicking under high-stress moments? Well...

A lot of parallels with Allen and Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the cinematic classic "Major League II."

Don't see the ol' coffin corner punt too much anymore
-
The team is almost certainly doing this right now. You can tell that Allen has been told not to take off running. I get it to some degree (he did hurt himself immediately last season running the ball), but I also agree with you that you can't just assume you'll end up with a favorable playoff seeding.

Coaches are heavily implying that Coleman isn’t trying on the field
T.E. replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was kinda surprised at how many Bills fans found that opening press conference endearing and just chalked it up to people being excited about our top pick, but that is not what you want from a key cog in your organization. -
Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)
T.E. replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Want to see him playing on Sunday. None of this "We gotta get him coached up/He needs to learn the system" crap, McDermott. -
They'll win this game because last week will probably light a brief fire under them, then turn around and drop the TNF game against Houston. I full expect a rollercoaster the rest of the way and hope that our 4-0 start gives us enough cushion to get to the tournament.

This is exactly what has happened, and it's completely altered his confidence. This coaching style has ruined lesser QBs' careers because it leads to them second-guessing everything rather than just going out there and playing.
