  1. Bizarre season so far. The crappy teams look great sometimes...all the good teams kinda suck in their own special way...
  2. I figured he'd be fine once he got the Jets stink off him.
  3. Amazing how sad-sack franchises always find a way to lose games.
  4. Seems like every TNF game is designed to increase sportsbook activity, because they aren't really watchable unless you're actively gambling on it.
  5. The way it should be, considering that nothing matters once the ball is a frog's hair over the goal line. Automatic TD.
  6. How about a kickoff rule that essentially guarantees that the drive starts at the 35 combined with allowing the kickers to bring their own worn-in balls to the game? A couple of first downs pretty much means three points now. On the other hand, a controversial rule I love is that if you fumble out of the endzone while trying to score a TD, the other team gets it as a touchback.
  7. Poor pass-blocking, receivers who can't get open, and a coaching staff that abandons the running game when it's working is a bad combo for a QB.
  8. It wouldn't shock me if he retired in the next couple of years. I think he might do it after this year if they somehow won the Super Bowl.
  9. If we lock the #1 seed up by Week 15, should we continue to play the starters and risk injury, or put them on the bench and risk them developing rust?
  10. Would either of them, off the couch, somehow contribute less than, say, Curtis Samuel?
  11. Isn't Olave prone to concussions? I could be mixing him up with someone else.
  12. There were lots of people on this board who were justifiably concerned at 4-0 and said that this wasn't close to a Super Bowl team, and it was received about as well as a fart in church. The playoffs are not a certainty.
  13. That will require a three-month offseason retreat to McDermott Farms to be effectively coached up for such a drastic change.
  14. Just throwing this out there...if I knew that I wanted to retire early because I wasn't completely enamored of football, I would approach secondary income like endorsement deals with the exact same intensity that he has the past 12-18 months.
  15. Squeaking into the playoffs at like 10-7 with zero expectations (and thus, little pressure) might be a blessing in disguise. Would definitely suck not having one last playoff game at the Ralph, though.
  16. Our line is clearly better at run blocking than pass blocking, and they were getting positive rushes every time between the tackles while having zero idea how to stop those blitzes. There is a real issue with stubbornness in regard to the coaching staff.
  17. You can pretty much tell if they are going to run or pass by whether Cook is in the game or not. It's bizarre how little they care about being so predictable.
  18. Mike Tolbert to fix our short-yardage woes.
  19. Optometrist: "Can you read that first line for me?" McDermott: "K L P M D." Optometrist: "Not quite. Do you want to try the line above it?" McDermott: "No, I want to do the same line again. K L P M D." Optometrist: "Still not right. Maybe we'll try a stronger prescription." McDermott: "No. I can get it. Alright, let's see...K L P M D."
  20. That's assuming they make the playoffs.
  21. I've always felt like he'll retire early, and the fact that he is clearly trying to make as much money as fast as he possibly can through endorsements makes me worry that we might have an Andrew Luck-type situation where he hangs them up at 30ish.
  22. I vividly remember that call, and the fact that they ultimately won never excused it. He was playing not to lose, like always. I still maintain that he knowingly and willingly conceded a long FG attempt in the 13 Seconds game to avoid giving up a possible big TD pass.
  23. I hate virtually everything about our offensive strategy. It is weak, gimmicky crap - the type of stuff a college team runs when their QB will immediately be converted to WR as soon as he gets to the NFL.
  24. The 90s players wouldn't have bought into any of the completely stale and clichéd Process stuff. Just from a public speaking and motivational standpoint, McDermott is a huge downgrade from Levy.
