Browns ink Myles Garrett to an Extension
T.E. replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cleveland said multiple times that they were not going to trade him. His options were to holdout, which would guarantee him nothing, or sign a gigantic contract, which guaranteed him $120 MM. Not a tough choice. -

Just like any other job. LMAO at all the people mad at him because "I thought he wanted to win a Super Bowl!" -
The more, the better. Night games suck, in my opinion.

You could make the argument that playing Thanksgiving Day games on crappy dome turf may have cost us Super Bowls in 2021 and/or 2022.

Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)
T.E. replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Extensions for Benfird, Allen, and Cook should've been prioritized before Rousseau, but I think his age has a lot to do with it. If they feel he is entering his prime, it makes sense to lock him up long term. He's not a consistent pass rusher yet, that must be said. -
Someone will pay him that, unfortunately.

Hard to make a bunch of plays when QBs avoid throwing to your side.

Another one - Trey Hendrickson asks for a trade from Cincy
T.E. replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
All of these guy are expecting insane money, all are on the downside of their prime, and all will cost significant assets to get. Beane would essentially be betting his job that we win the SB within two years by pulling off a move like that. I don't think he's willing to do it. -
Jags release Christian Kirk, seems like a Billsy move

Kirk actually specifically did say this to Allen. https://sports.yahoo.com/christian-kirk-says-bills-qb-010805615.html -

Didn't he supposedy tell Allen that he has only lived in hot weather and didn't want to move anywhere cold, or am I thinking of someone else? -
It was proven to be the right decision, unless you want to blame Rob Johnson for the ensuing kickoff after he led the game-winning drive.
-
The defense won those games. Rob Johnson also effectively won the Titans game, which most people forget. Flutie had the same opportunity at Miami the year before in the playoffs and predictably turned it over in the red zone, something that lost multiple games for the Bills in 1999.
-
I mean, he orchestrated a game-winning drive. Not his fault they screwed it up, like always.
-
We probably would've been down by double digits at that point if the Little General had started that game. He was brutal in '99, especially towards the end of the year.
-
I would argue the opposite is true. Most Bills fans talk about him like he's Jonathan Ogden. This thread is a perfect example.
-
Tom Brady being on PEDs for the last half of his career (with no consequences) fooled a lot of people into believing that all good QBs should be playing at a high level into their mid-40s.
-
Really hope the Bills win the Super Bowl soon so that I can stop watching the NFL altogether. It's now a perversion of a once great game.

That was my favorite play all year. You can make an argument that drilling that kick changed the trajectory of Bass' entire life.
-
The Rams make sense in so many ways, and the end of his current deal will likely align with the retirement of Stafford. You just gotta hope that he desperately wants to be the one guy who brings Buffalo a title. And/or that he would prefer being a huge fish in a small pond over being just another famous guy in LA. I'm also of the opinion - and I can't really articulate why I feel this way - that Allen might retire significantly earlier than expected.

Defensive Tackle: Is it the Players or the System?
T.E. replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember when we tried this back around 2006 when we replaced productive fat guys like Sam Adams and Pat Williams with faster DTs like Larry Tripplett and John McCargo Same results as now. Guys who cannot beat blocks and penetrate. -
His first-half game plan against Denver is exactly what you'd do if your goal was to let an overmatched underdog stay within striking distance. He completely conceded the entire second half against Baltimore because he wanted to sit on the lead and hope it would work out. Got bailed out by a miraculous forced fumble and a very uncharacteristic drop by one of the game's best players. Was, again, way too conservative against KC because he was afraid of trying literally anything new on either side of the ball because there is always a chance it may not work (there's a parallel, huh?). He coaches terrified in most big moments, and I'm tired of pretending that his annual playoff failures are solely due to bad luck.

Wasting the career of the most talented QB to ever play the position with this generation's version of Marty Schottenheimer is not a "good thing," in my opinion. Guy coached not to lose to a ridiculous level for large portions of all three playoff games.
