Before Freddy last week, when was our last 80 yard run?

Buffalo Bills have EXCEEDED my expectations!
poo replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading over the other posts it strikes me that there is a fundamental difference in expectations. For some, a decent showing by the Bills where they play competitive is a great game and a win would just seal that deal. For others it seems that perfection is the ultimate goal and falling short of perfection is to be derided. I fall in the first camp. It could be because I am easy going and less driven than some or it could be that I have been influenced by years of Bills' failures to expect a minimum of success. I feel that people who demand perfection are rebelling against the second reason I just listed: the complacency of a perennial loser. This is to be applauded among players and fans as we all strive for the best possible outcome. However, let's keep it civil fellas. Some of us like to re-affirm our optimism after a tough loss. We also see it as a way to support this team through good and bad, something we all learned about the last few years. The point of this post is to request a truce in the wake of a tough loss. Circle the wagons, Mutherfockers! -
Buffalo Bills have EXCEEDED my expectations!

Another tough loss by three points. Remember last year when those types of losses were offset by only four wins? The Bills have most emphatically exceeded my expectations and continue to play well. The board here has breed a new sort of Bill hater, the "we are no good because we need turnovers!" We were right there today and would have gone up late in the fourth if Fitz had not thrown that second int. This is a good team that can hang with the best in the league and win more than they lose. We lost again on the road, which is worrisome but they were so close to taking this one at the end. Again, the Bills have most definitely exceeded almost everyone's expectations and the play has been to a high level that I haven't seen in years. -
Agreed. Up and down, agreed. Team first with these guys. Go Bills!

J'accuse! Fell for it too huh? Well it is 3 am.

No matter what happens the rest of the year
poo replied to BillsfaninFl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A huge agree on just enjoying the games right now. A competitive Bills team, one that can win any given week? Yes, thank you very much. I am certainly hopeful for the season as I feel we are playing great football right now but it is an excellent feeling to just watch and not "knowing" that the Bills are going to fail somehow in the end. Some of the best Bills watching in years for sure. Go Bills! -
Injuries affect every team though. Jason Peters was out last week, Osi is questionable for this week i believe and the giants secondary is/was beat up. Gailey talks about bringing in guys and having them perform and players fitting those holes made by injuries has been a big part of the Bills wins this season. Just last week when Namman came in and got clutch first downs on a couple of receptions. He was just promoted off the practice squad and expected to be a spell guy and he is suddenly thrust into a starting spot and needed to make big plays. Goon Squad indeed, I love those guys. Easy going, too young to know what they can't do and fun loving but seemingly humble. If the Bills play like a team, a real team that works together to make the game go their way, then i don't think anyone can beat them right now. Go Bills!

I was thinking the same thing. If the Bills want to get to the playoffs this year they will have to win the road games. They look great right now at home and I do not think that will change going forward barring injuries but on the road we have only seen the two games: beat-down of an unprepared Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 and the poor offensive showing against the Bengals and their high-motor defense. I think the Bills will take anyone foolish enough to roll on up Orchard Park way, but they have 7, counting Toronto, road games left: I do believe they can do it but my optimism will be shaken by a poor showing in the Meadowlands.

I agree with Freddie rubbing off on Spiller as well as agreeing with Freddie being straight amazing. Spiller has looked hesitant in hitting the holes in games past but now he seems to be turning up field quicker, rather than dancing behind the line. Maybe more so than Freddie's tutelage has been the excellent play of the offensive line this year. Spiller can commit easier when there are larger holes for him to run through. An increase in Spiller's ability or determination seems a reflection of the team's smashmouth style of football. Go Bills!

No, no he didn't figure anything out. He is still too small to play. For everyone who didn't see here is what happened: Maybin was lined up over the Left Tackle and when the ball was snapped he ran twelve yards downfield around d'brickashaw ferguson and Flacco held the ball too long. Maybin then was directly behind Flacco in the pocket and was able to attack the pocket from behind and he hit Flacco, weakly, causing a fumble. If a smal child had been in his way Maybin would have been stopped from coming from directly behind the pocket, as it was he had a clear shot to get to Flacco. Ed Reed offers a fun comparison, it looked like reed had twenty, maybe thirty pounds on Maybin. For all those who appreciate how worthless Maybin is; Sanchez, on the play after the fumble caused by Maybin, threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Maybin's big day actually contributed to the Jet's loss. Have faith Bills friends, we shall right the ship.

Albany Newspaper Trashes Bills Nation
poo replied to Albany Bills Backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously though, what misguided idiot says to themselves, "I am gonna pick on the lovable losers of the NFL because everyone likes it when you beat up on losers. Also, I presume that because my garbage town is full of Giants fans no one will ever hear about this article outside of my city because the interwebs is weird and frightening to me." This lady is the most moronic sports writer I have ever heard of. Sullivan, Maiaonara, Leo Roth: they at least are paid to cover the Bills so they have to suffer with the rest watching sub par products being out on the field. But this hairy New England sycophant thinks she can pick a fight with us by saying we are all morons for believing in something that brings us together. I left western New York and moved down to NYC for school, for jobs like so many people do. The Bills are our calling card, our symbol of our home where many of us wish we could have stayed. In attacking the Bills and the fans who believe in them she attacked a community that has suffered for years and proven herself a smug, indolent, sophomoric writer. An ill-conceived piece that I hope ends her attachment to all things New York. Alright, I feel better. As someone who wrote her an angry email, as many of us did, I feel that the comments some of us made went over the line. I defended the comments on her gender with the retort, "she started it all. What idiot starts something like this with beer swilling morons from the rust belt and then cries when things dont go her way." Blaming the victim is what that is. And it is very similar to arguments about how de-segregation was wrong because of the danger it would put black people in. Having said this, I hater her, hate her writing, her posting of the angrier comments like it was making a statement. She deserved every bit of vitriol that she received but it is wrong, to repeat: very wrong, to rag on her for being a lady. A terrible sportswriter who doesn't understand what she is doing, sure say it all day. Some sort of demon sent to torment me as i watch the Bills play always wondering when the next collapse will come, of course she is. But to say things like "stay in the kitchen" or to rag on her appearance, while satisfying to me in a way that makes me feel a little sick, is very wrong and should not be tolerated. We here on the boards go on endless debates whenever a racial issue is touched on even when they are relatively benign. This is not benign, this is not right gentleman. I hate her so much for being a moron, for ragging on me and "my" team. We should not be demeaning her as a woman though, just as a stupid, stupid human being. -

What's the Difference between 2008 and 2011?

Even worse back then was the fact that two of them had been playoff teams the year before. Jacksonville fell apart that year and Seattle began its long decline. -
Does The BILLS Have Best youngt WRcorps. in the league

they does have a great young stabel of guys playing 4 them. -
AFC East domination! I knew the Raiders would destroy Sanchez. Thank you Richard Seymour and co. I never thought the bills would be atop the East at any point this year. GO BILLS!

Definitely a classy guy. A person you hope to succeed in life as much as we all hope he wins on the field.

Gus Johnson and his energetic calls leave CBS
poo replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Johnson was great. Him and Tasker made my sunday mornings. I agree with the previous post about him making many a bills browns game watchable. Also, the bills beating the bungles last year was great with him. Frankly, the Bills terrible, we could lose at any second, play was great with Gus. I could be three rooms away and hear his shouting the calls. I will definetly miss his calling the games. -
I LOVE what the Bills did in this draft.

Ridding the ghosts of Ngata, Harris and Revis
poo replied to Pilsner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really! No fooling mister! Because I remember another time when my favorite team started four and 0 and began to believe in them. And then the sun exploded killing my dreams in a fiery hail of death. Billllieve? Remember! I am very bitter it seems. I am also excited and hope this draft turns around the old bill's franchise. go billllss!! -
Damn, I remember this draft and how much I wanted Hardy to be the other guy for, was it Losman?, to throw to. Honestly now with leodis probably starting this coming season, along with sj, db, and reggie as slot guy, this draft is looking decent. None of them have been lights out, except for sj's solid run last year, and there have been problems, sj's pittsburgh drop in ot, the mckelvin fumble, demetrius getting knocked down by my grandmother. All that being said, I give it a B for putting three starters and a slot corner in there. maybe sj picks it up this year and leodis keeps it together. either way, looking better as time has passed and i am generally feeling the euphoria after three solid d picks today. generous with a b, yes. crazy? not so much

Well said. God, I hope its true.

MLB has maintained a fairly competitive league despite the lack of a cap. despite the odd standout like the Pirates and their utter futility when it comes to competing at a high level, the MLB continues to churn out small market winners. While the Yankees and Boston do have monstrous pay rolls that ensure their shot at a title practically every year teams like the rays with little in the way of fan support or income continue to challenge for the al east. In the last ten years practically every team in the major leagues has made the playoffs at least once, with the exception of the pirates, and the list of world series winners for the same years has the yankees winning only one out of three appearances. No salary cap does not have to mean that the same teams win the big game every time. The patriots have been to the same number of super bowls and have won more then the yankees in the cap system in the past ten years.

Jamarcus Russel's life coach: says "I give up!"

Sir I applaud your recognition of the absurdity of a life coach quitting.
