  1. I'm not having any problem linking to it, either through my original post or your quote, and no, it is not from Michael Koffman. It strts with an in detail view of the air war, but at the 31:38 mark, gets into a detailed discussion of what is really going on and what is at stake.
  2. These are the two guys I trust when evaluating the entire situation, and sums up my view. I get that it's a one hour video, but well worth the watch. The discussion of the value of continuing to pursue this starts at the 31:38 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmMclP8dlI0 Before that is a detailed air war discussion. Very good and informative for those who are not familiar.
  3. Yet they survive and thrive. Won a war against a coalition of Arab states the day after their creation in 1948. Won a war against a coalition of Arab states in 1967, the "Six Day War," capturing West Bank, Golan Heights and Gaza. Won a war against a coalition of Arab states in 1973, called the Yom Kippur War, ended by a forced ceasefire when Israeli troops could have captured both Damascus and Cairo within days. Decimated the Syrian Air Force in 1982. final score...80 something to zero. Destroyed Iraqi nuclear facility, 18981. Destroyed Syrian nuclear facility, 2007. Not a bad record.
  4. Goodness gracious. If you'd ever done business in Argentina, you'd realize that his views on free trade vs. protectionism are meaningless at this point. The start is actually being able to do business there without paying off gov employees. Regarding default, they are already grossly incapable of paying off debt. Another non issue. Abortion rights? Argentina is still a Catholic country following an Argentine Pope in Rome. How about solving the kidnapping for ransom issue before worrying about abortion. The point is that they need to clear up gross, generational, entrenched internal corruption before any of the issues you bring up can be addressed, and they have never demonstrated the will to do so, because some left wing populist has always come in to tell them that it isn't necessary, and things will be fine. Fails every single time.
  5. This is going to be a troubled road, becasue there are so many people dependent on the status quo, and they are not going to welcome change. Still, the effect of Argentina abandoning the failed policies it has clung to over the years would not only unleash an incredible economic and cultural potential, it would break the South American proclivity for clinging to populism, government failure after failure, and proven bankrupt policy designed to do nothing other than line the pockets of corrupt individuals. I can only imagine the effects if Argentina turns this around. Brazil and Peru come to mind. Well worth temporary pain, but I'm not sure Argentina is willing to go through it.
  6. The Chinese submarine fore, which has made rapid progress through stolen technology, is not close to US sub capability. The issue is quantity, and the US' inability to produce becasue of shipbuilding and ship maintenance deficiencies.
  7. Because they, Hamas, are humans? Either way, by their actions, need to be removed.
  8. I am extremely suspicious of that footage. "Rockets," even a number of them, don't cause that kind of damage. This would also imply that Israeli air defenses, which are formidable either failed or were not utilized. Very suspicious.
  9. Having visited your country many times per month in my previous career, I sincerely wish for a successful transition from the gross corruption of the Kirchner, and previous, regimes, Such incredible economic and agricultural potential being sucked out by corruption and socialist malpractice. Simply clearing up law enforcement and customs department corruption will be a monumental task. Buena suerte amigo. Cruzare los dedos por ti.
  10. You point out nothing., You are a little punk who has been directly challenged and never responded, more than once. You are a disgrace.
  11. More idiotic nonsense brought about by stupid claims that you state as fact but are grossly wrong. I have no problem stating he is a war criminal. I just don't see the need or value to post every single view I have of every single thing. It does absolutely nothing to do so, so I don't. The only time I am ever going to respond to you is when you falsely accuse me of something because of your ignorance, or when you post something ridiculously false.
  12. You are uniquely incapable of understanding the written word. I never said Putin was not a war criminal. It is a boldfaced lie to ever claim that I did. What I listed was a number of countries that could be guilty of it, and this silly exercise of pointing fingers at only those you don't like is a waste of time. You continue to establish rock bottom in your useless and grossly false claims of what other people think.
  13. This entire "war criminal" thing is a silly diversion. The US, UK. Germany, Japan, the USSR and subsequent Russia could be guilty of it. Israel is going to eliminate Hamas, or come as close as they can, unless stopped, and I don't see that happening. There are going to be many civilian casualties, because Hamas uses civilians and media nonsense as a major part of their strategy, because they have nothing else. Get over this "war criminal" nonsense.
  14. If we had a Mongolian BBQ option here, it would be my auto go to. Back in my Navy days, the Cubi Pt. (Philippines) Officer's Club had Mongolian every Wed. It was the best.
  15. Ceasefires jammed down Israel's throat after the Six Day War and Yom Kippur really worked eh? Hamas has to be eliminated for any hope, and the Israelis are committed to that regardless of what others, who have no "standing" suggest. The only way this ends is for Iran to be stopped and for some level of sane leadership to come from the Arab world in dealing with the Palestinians.
  16. It makes perfect sense if you had been paying attention. Israel said, after the atrocities committed by Hamas that they were going to eliminate them. Not stop them, eliminate them. A ceasefire is a guarantee of Hamas' existence in Gaza, and a guarantee this all happens again. That is the correct stance, and it's going to be ugly.
  17. Proverbs 29:9-11 There’s no use arguing with a fool. He only rages and scoffs, and tempers flare. Proverbs 26:4 English Standard Version Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Proverbs 18:2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 18:6 A fool's lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. Proverbs 26:11 Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool who repeats his folly. I have challenged you regarding your accusation in the past, offering to contribute any amount of money to the charity of your choice if I was not truthful. How about this. $10,000 from me to the charity of your choice, (with the exception of a Biden reelection campaign fund, because I won't commit treason), if I can't produce bona fides. $1000 from you to the charity of my choice if I can. Take the bet or stfu.
  18. If you are insinuating something, stop the nonsense and say it. If you can't say it, shut up. Beware of idiots who waste everyone's time. Sherpa 1:1
  19. Not his fault. The press release from the Carter era DOD kind of claims that, but if was "Hey, if you see some floaters let us know,." Nothing unusual about that. Somebody spotted a boat and they looked to be in a bad way and they grabbed them and got them to the next port. The entire thing took about a day and didn't stop the usual stuff the airwing was doing Saying it was a carrier task force on a humanitarian mission is kind of like me claiming I was on a humanitarian mission if I help a kid cross the street. Kitty Hawk also hit some stupid Russian sub and did the sub some serious damage. The carrier didn't even know for a bit. Same logic/nonsense would have been for DOD to claim that Kitty Hawk completed a successful sub hunting and attacking mission.
  20. They didn't get on the carrier. The Kitty Hawk task force spotted a group of about 20 or so Vietnamese refugees on a boat and they were fished out of the water, placed aboard other ships in the task force and dropped off by at the next port. Calling that a "humanitarian mission" executed by an aircraft carrier is grossly misleading. Carriers in third fleet, which is what ships in the US area are assigned to have provided humanitarian aid after hurricanes as with Katrina, but not with an airwing embarked and certainly not in a war zone.
  21. They are aircraft carriers, not "Air Craft Carriers." I was talking about their use in the context of the two deployed there at this time. Both have full airwings embarked on them and are in war zones and possible war zones. It is possible to use one for a humanitarian mission without an operating airwing embarked, such as a earthquake or something in the western hemisphere. With an airwing aboard, an aircraft carrier is an extremely dangerous place. There is no additional room for anyone. The flight deck is probably the most dangerous work space on earth, and nobody would be allowed up there during flight operations. You can get killed or thrust overboard in a second. The hangar deck is always busy, but the huge openings where the elevators operate would be a likely place to fall overboard. There is no extra bunkrooms. It would take huge amounts of human resources to control whomever was boarded, and that manpower does not exist. As they are either in, or could be in war zones, there are times when general quarters was sounded, and there is not place to put them while the ship addresses the threat. In addition, there are other, better options.
  22. Pistachios. I love them. Lump charcoal. I will die before I ever see another briquette in my grill. Strafing. It's fun and I miss it. Mind you, against acoustic banners, not people.
  23. You really don't pay attention to what other's post, and it is clearly evident. A couple of weeks ago, I believe in this very thread, I wrote a lengthy post about responding to the Iranian takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran; the resulting hostage situation, and Kitty Hawk being turned around from going home to heading to the Arabian Sea and picking up the ill fated helos that were destroyed at Desert One. I also discussed the planning of eliminating two Iranian Air Bases in response to a query from Fergy. You should be aware of when that historic event occurred, as it significantly effected US foreign policy and a presidential election. You seem to not be able to connect dots. Anyway, my squadron deployed on Kitty Hawk and as part of that embarked airwing, I made two cruises on Kitty Hawk during the ship's WESTPAC/Indian Ocean operations from 79-81. https://www.navysite.de/cvn/cv63deploy.htm Scroll down to April 30 1979 and April 1 1981 deployments. I have over 200 of my 300 carrier arrested landings, called "traps," 100 at night on Kitty Hawk, and pages and pages of logbook entries recording those "so called experiences" to use your phrase your foolish doubt. The picture I included months ago of me after pre-flighting the alert 15 airplane carrying Sidewinders, APAM and HARM missiles is on Kitty Hawk.
  24. Why do you care?
