That is the famous coffee from Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The place is legendary for chicory coffee and beignets. Very good.

Who Thinks WD Makes This Place Less Enjoyable?

It's like watching an intentional accident. You don't have to feel sorry for the victim. -
Self discipline is a desirable skill.

Sometimes your lazy writing is just an annoyance. Other times it's a humorous malapropism. Your misuse of the word "then" instead of "than" reveals that one of your "goals in life" is to eat Ruben Brown, but only after eating "more chicken wings." That's one lofty goal.

your opinion of westerndecline ?

One is a storekeeper. The other is an error by the third baseman. -
What's that old axiom? You get out of something what you put in? I put in a real lot and I got a real lot out, and in my experience, most people I served with who were remotely talented would say the same. Had more fun than I ever thought possible. Made life-long friends. Acquired a skill that led to a career that paid handsomely and allowed me to retire quite comfortably, and early. Met my wife, a Navy nurse corps officer. Had far more responsibility at an earlier age than is possible in the civilian world. Best decision I ever made, both personally and professionally. Frankly, you sound like a parasite, and your comment about thanking God you didn't join the Army or Marines.....Those services were the true beneficiaries of that decision.

You don't want to go down this road. The gov and independent commissions full of non political have explained it in great detail. The part about identifying them before they crashed, I know that from non government sources, as does everyone else. If you are going to get into an exercise about that event, I am not hopeful you will bring joy into your life. It would best be avoided.

Its not complicated or nefarious at all. Many of the hijackers identities were known prior to the actual crashes. It took no time at all to link them to al-Qaeda, and numerous intercepted transmissions that day pointed to bin Laden.

There is a cost to understanding and making adjustments as part of the survival instinct. Putting up with certain things may be worth a greater feeling of confidence that you are under less of a threat, and allowing certain industries to exist.

And the legal ability, desire and infrastructure for intel and legal agencies to share information and cooperate with each other both domestically and around the world. And some kind of realistic passport/visa control. And No Fly lists. And forensic accounting around the world with an eye towards terrorism. And far more attention at high vis events. And far more restrictions on cargo carriage and prohibitions. And killing al-Qaeda operatives. And disallowing states to allow known terrorist training camps.

Completely disagree. We had to do a lot more than that.

So would a group of airline pilots who enjoyed the "freedom" of going to work to take care of passengers and get them where they're going without having their throats slashed.

Want to read something "interesting." Rough, but interesting. "Can't Kill Enough To Win....Think Again." https://m.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/2017-12/cant-kill-enough-win-think-again

From folks like you, I don't want it. It was an honor and something that set me up for life. Again, regarding the actress issue, you have absolutely no idea of the impact of what she did, and it absolutely falls in the treason range. I'm not going to overstate it, but it was treason, by definition. To claim that someone who has that view is the victim of bad information, or "what you have been told" is immensely disrespectful to those who went through it and relayed what they know.
-
You really don't get this do you? Whether the government decides to prosecute or not is based on a lot of different factors. The fact is that the Tokyo Rose issue was successfully prosecuted under the the reference I have mentioned twice. It is exactly what this actress did. Regarding your claim of me "avoiding" something," its not odd, and I'm not avoiding. Its simply not worth spending the time for a response.
-
The specifics of the Tokyo Rose issue don't matter. What matters is what is written in the US Constitution re treason, and that case is precedent. That is what applies to this self absorbed actress, and that is what you have, in my view, erroneously commented on.
-
I am quite familiar with the Tokyo Rose issue. What matters is what is written in the Constitution Article 3 Section 3.
-
Don't thank me for my service. You have absolutely no idea what she caused. Tokyo Rose was convicted of doing exactly what this moron did, there just wasn't any appetite for pursuing it, and I'm glad it turned out that way. I don't give a rat's ass what her "goal" was, nor do the people who were impacted in any way, and I'm quite certain you don't either. One thing I do know is that her crap was used, and used against people who were in POW camps during her idiotic "altruistic" campaign.

You don't get to judge what constitutes treason. US Constitution Article 3 Section 3. "or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." Jane Fonda did exactly that when she agreed to participate in Radio Hanoi propaganda programs. She didn't speak "to" the enemy, she spoke "for" the enemy, and she didn't offer any hint of remorse for such ill advised stupidity until there was an economic component. You have no idea of what i don't like to "speak out against." It matters not a whit when she did it in the context of that war. She did it while US servicemen were being held in North Vietnamese torture camps. She has/had no idea what was being targeted and why, and I know exactly what her claim was. Further, your claim in a previous post that I should: "Do some research and educate yourself before spewing what you've "learned" from others, " I challenge as well. I would suggest that you "learned" it from others as well. Where I "learned" it was from people I served with as a light attack pilot in the Pacific Fleet. In case you don't know, that is the group that delivered weapons during that war, and a number of them ended up in POW camps. On my first cruise, a good deal of the more senior officers, 04 and above, all served in Viet Nam, and knew all about what her actions caused. In addition, it was discussed at SERE school, (POW) school. I trust those people more than any others I have ever met, and certainly trust their judgement more than some ignorant young woman empowered by noting other than celebrity, who hadn't any clue what the hell she was doing. And I don't consider her the "devil." She was just a typical self absorbed idiot in way over her head.

"“If a prisoner tried to escape, it is quite understandable that he would probably be beaten and tortured.” That was said by an individual and it was said regarding US POWs held by the North Vietnamese. That individual also made radio broadcasts at the behest of Radio Hanoi, during the war. That individual also posed for a picture on an anti aircraft gun. She later claimed she had no idea what she was doing. Her "apologies" came coincident with movie openings that protesters were recommending be boycotted. She gave aid and comfort to an enemy during a war. I have "educated" myself on this puke.
