Evidently, nothing.

Go get this guy!!! (Kyle Long returning)
sherpa replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That wasn't always the case with Kyle. After high school he had quite a rough patch. Glad to see him straighten it things out. -
The 7 million wasn't for the couple. It was what CBS paid Oprah's company for the rights to broadcast it.

Nothing....Absolutely nothing like living in Kensington Palace as a Royal, and that's what he saw and similar to what they were headed for. Not even close.
-
If one has witnessed the British tabloid industry and it's absolute obsession with anything Royal, especially a scandal, it is understandable. There is nothing like it here. The paparazzi literally killed his mother. That is how microscopically scrutinized they are. They have no significant function, but they have an immense cultural function based on history. It's no way to live and I'm glad somebody exposed the misery of living as a 24 hour target.

I'm not an expert. I've just priced the systems out, and continue to do so. The problem with geothermal is not in the system. It's in the expense of creating the heat sink. If you tell some backhoe operator to dig a four foot trench 100' long and do it four times, you will get a price. Septic systems are not that much different. If you tell him you are doing it for a geothermal system, the price will change. The other issue with geothermal is consistent with a lot of contractor issues. If one person digs the field, and another provides the plumbing and hvac system, if there is a problem, they are always going to blame the other contractor. As a home owner/builder, that is not an easy thing to fight. I am not an expert on any but a few things, but I am always looking and learning, and I've done this before. The geothermal I installed on a 3500 square foot house worked great. De-superheater for hot water and very price competitive. Way better in summer than my neighbors. Pricing it out for this one didn't work.
-
The last house we built had a closed loop geothermal system. I had it installed and liked it a lot. In constructing this current house, I looked at doing the same. The cost was excessive, and not competitive. Far more expensive than what I built years ago. He isn't getting his "heating, cooling and hot water for free." Such a claim is similar to buying a bunch of food, putting it in a freezer, and when using it, claiming you are getting it for free.

I have been interested in this for years as well, and check on the industries' advancements regularly. I had a solar hot water system in my house in California, and was really happy with it. It provided all of our hot water needs. Photovoltaic is another issue, but I am also interested in that, and have been actively following it for years. The basics are that the most efficient system is an array that points true, (as opposed to magnetic) south, and plus or minus, installed at the same angle as your north latitude elevation. The house we live in now, has this exact arrangement on the garage roof, which is plenty big enough. Not a coincidence. Our church has an adjoining property and the guy has a 24 unit 4x8 array installed. His situation is less than perfect, but I talk to him regularly about the system's performance. Bottom line, I haven't seen any evidence that it makes sense for me yet, even with the perfect situation. I believe there are things coming in the next few years that will make more sense.

Has anyone here lived in the same town or state their whole life?

Buffalo Florida (college) Texas (training) Central Valley California USS Kitty Hawk San Francisco Bay Area Raleigh NC St. Charles Il (far west Chicago suburb) Charlottesville VA Kitty Hawk was the most interesting, but fortunatley I was able to get off of it for a couple house every day. -

Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?
sherpa replied to Dr.Sack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The injury list for that proposed contest would be longer than a metro phone book. Even the fans would call in sick. On another note, they could call it the "Gale Sayers Bowl," you know...."I am third." Oh just nevermind. -
When I posted what I did, you absolutely could. Further, I just logged in to my tdameritrade account, the firm you mentioned, and put in a limit trade for GME, which was taken, no problem. I cancelled the limit order, but it certainly did not restrict me from placing the order.
-
Did you really mean this? You can buy GME or anything else anywhere else. Robinhood restriction has infinitely little to do with the ability to buy this or other issues.
-
I did. Zero Obvious Deviation In Any Conclusions.

‘Did You Know’ thread about the Bills

That Wall of Famer Jim Ritcher achieved a lifelong dream by becoming an airline pilot after retiring, and flew as a co-pilot on a Dolphin 757 charter to a Bills away game. -
Anyone have a family recipe for kummelweck rolls?

Unusual. There isn't a single bad post in this thread. Still, the thread would be slightly better if horseradish was included at some point. -
I know one thing about the guy. He's a weather freak/worrier.
-
The refs need to perform in a manner that doesn't cause that reaction. That was a horrible call, and thankfully didn't effect the outcome.

He was apoplectic. I thought my laptop screen was going to explode. Stopped just short of calling on Bills fans to light torches and storm the NFL offices.
