  1. Losing Steve Johnson really hurts this drive. It'll be a big sign for the offense, long term, if one of the receivers can catch one here. This is a tough situation.
  2. That was blatant interference on the last play. Let's hope Oakland's secondary is as poor as ours has been.
  3. Denarius Moore is a player. Wow.
  4. What could've been a safety ended up as a big play for Oakland. This defense needs to make some serious adjustments.
  5. That was an amazing catch. Chandler's proving that not only is a he a big end zone target but also someone with great hands. Let's hope the secondary holds up; the pass rush isn't helping them at all.
  6. If anyone's been keeping up with the other games, Kansas City looks absolutely terrible. I think the Raiders are a top 15 team, though, and I've actually been pretty impressed with our offense this game. The real issue was the first half play calling, which could hurt our legitimate wild card chances.
  7. The apostrophe is where it should be. By the way, your comma should be inside the quotation marks.
  8. I was very happy with our defense last night, especially considering how much time first-string players got. While nine sacks per game is obviously an unrealistic expectation, the defense looks like it will be significantly improved. As for the o-line, things really aren't looking good. If Buffalo's defense puts up good numbers this year while Fitzpatrick takes David Carr-level sacks, and the running game gets crushed at the line of scrimmage, Nix will have a lot of explaining to do. I'm not naïve enough to think we're a playoff team this year, but I do believe that adding one or two quality offensive linemen for the short term will help our young receivers, Spiller, and Fitzpatrick build confidence and chemistry.
  9. Are you seriously criticizing someone's English skills when your own grammar, syntax, and spelling are completely off? There are very few things more amusing on the Internet than hypocrites like you. As for Maybin, I think last night's game is the final straw for his Buffalo career.
  10. Palmer wouldn't play for Buffalo. He strikes me as a guy who only cares about the chance to win, and even if Buffalo is improved, he won't have a chance to seriously contend. Teams I can see him accepting a trade to, in order: Cardinals: They had, possibly, the worst QBs in the league last year. Put Palmer in this situation and they become a vastly improved team; it wasn't so long ago that they went to the Super Bowl. Vikings: Not a bad team, unless age catches up to them. I can see Palmer wanting to play there, and they'd probably pull the trigger. Browns: They're probably only a consideration because Cincinnati and Cleveland are relatively close by. Raiders: Oakland isn't terrible, although I think Jason Campbell is a solid player. It's unclear how Palmer would feel about playing for Al Davis, though. Redskins: Less likely: owner has a bed rep, and the time would need to acquire someone like Santonio Holmes in free agency, plus a running back. If they make those moves, Washington has a shot. Miami: They reportedly want to stick with Henne, but they're not a terrible team and certainly have the cash for free agent splashes. San Francisco: They probably want to try out Alex Smith and Kaepernick, but as someone stated, he's from northern California. Another option: there's always a decent probability of an elite QB going down early in the season, and without the organized workouts, players could be particularly suspect to injury at the beginning of this season. The trade deadline may even be lifted (who knows?) and if, say, Brady's knee gives out again from a hard hit like Pollard's, that team would pick up Palmer in a second.
  11. Clements was also playing with a far more talented Bills defense. More broadly, what I'm annoyed by is the fact that we are losing a good safety- there is no question that he is in the top half of the league as a starter, which isn't number 7, but still good enough- as well as potentially Drayton Florence, who is also a solid player. The Aaron Williams pick, to me, is representative of the problem with this team- instead of keeping decent defensive players, we're replacing them. I would have loved to pick someone like Kyle Rudolph- we remain garbage at TE- or a DE like Bowers, even if he doesn't pan out. I think Williams will be a good player, but we're going nowhere by constantly losing solid players in free agency when we don't sign anyone at a marquee level, ever.
  12. It pains me to say this, but I think that people like to bash Whitner and downgrade his ability because of his attitude and the fact that he doesn't seem to want to play in Buffalo. Unfortunately, the reality is this: Whitner, like McGahee, Clements, and others, is a very good player- somewhere in the top 12 safeties- who will leave the team. Unless Buffalo builds a winning culture, the Bills will continue this cycle of topping off at 7-9 wins and bottoming out at 4-6. We can't attract good free agents, and we simply lose many of our better players.
  13. Regardless of whether Palmer is, in fact, a significant enough upgrade over Fitzpatrick to warrant a trade, you'd have to be truly naïve to believe that Palmer would accept a trade to Buffalo. There are a few logical spots for him to get moved to: San Francisco, Minnesota, and, perhaps, Oakland (which actually has a pretty solid team). He's going to want to go back to California or to a strong team in need of a QB.
