  1. I'm not blaming Fitz.
  2. Actually, his son, Chris, had much more to do with their roster, and he's done a terrible job; you can't just tank your way to 1-15. Yes, Luck is and will be a franchise QB, but if you have nothing else on the team, said QB will win 5-7 games, max. The fact that we are getting shredded with a roster that, on paper, is top-15 in the league is inexcusable. I don't know if it's the coaching or the players' motor, but this is close to the last straw for fans of the Bills.
  3. Indy is, with a rookie QB and an otherwise relegation-quality roster, going to take a wild card spot. Their rebuilding- without having had multiple first and second round picks on defense- roster just held the Titans to 13 on the road. We gave up 35 at home. This is disgusting.
  4. A great team from 1990 isn't beating a good team from 2012. Think Walt Chamberlain in today's NBA. This may be blasphemy on this board, but so was Jim Kelly. Brees isn't better than Brady.
  5. Watch us have the 8th pick and trade down to around 14 for a second and third rounder. I'm not sure if there's such a thing as a "blue-chip QB" available at the 14th slot. That being said, more so than anytime in NFL history, teams have either a successful starting QB or a first/second-year player that will get probably get another year (Gabbert). It'll be interesting to see how, and which, QBs slip. I have a feeling it will cost a lot less to trade up to the second/third pick than it did last or any other year, which will be interesting if Barkley/Geno both look like strong prospects.
  6. Three down lineman and an edge rusher lined up against a tight end or off the line altogether. Think Von Miller in passing situations, though it's more of a 3-2 in NFL practice
  7. This is the most random mock draft and website with absolutely zero credibility. It has less value than if I, or another poster, made one on this board. Finally, T'eo isn't going to fall outside of the top 10. Did you not stop to think that, as old as this draft is, it has absolutely no consideration for how players performed this year and, therefore, their draft position? Sure, it would be nice if T'eo slipped to Buffalo at 14, but that's not happening.
  8. Won't happen.
  9. “You’re only as good as the effort you put forth. I don’t care who it is,” said Kelsay. “I’d take Mario Williams at full health and full speed probably over anybody else in the league. At the same time I’d take Sean Ferguson, who we cut, over a guy that’s playing 50 percent, and I think our coaches would too. The playmakers have to make plays and the way you do that is giving all out effort every play.” http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Chris-Kelsay-calls-defense-out-on-the-carpet/d40732e0-291e-44b5-9b31-b3cf1317bc68 I don't believe this was posted already, but, overall, it's a solid interview. It's funny how Kelsay is willing to call out the defensive effort and indirectly target individual players, while Chan refuses to call the team out for its effort: “Are there plays that guys don’t do 100 percent every snap? Yeah there are plays when that happens and you’ve got to correct that,” said Gailey. “It’s disturbing every time you look at it, but it goes on with every team at every level of football. It really does and you’ve got to squelch it and get everybody playing to the top 100 percent every snap. You just can’t take plays off. I’m not saying guys are taking plays off. I’m just saying we can lay out a little bit better at times.” No, Chan, I don't think the team "can (just) lay out a little better at times." Not only do you refuse to criticize Wannstedt's schemes or open up the possibility that his job is at risk (to get Wannstedt out of the booth and actively involved in adjustments on-field), but you refuse to admit that the team effort has been unacceptable. I understand that the head coach can't call out individual players, but the head coach can't also be meek and refuse to tear into the team for its effort. Chan has to go.
  10. This is precisely why Chan needs to fire Wannstedt, instead of stating "no" when asked if coaching changes will be considered on defense. It's important that the players don't blame each other, and a coaching change will prevent infighting. If Wannstedt is allowed to stay, they'll start playing the blame game with each other, and things will get uglier.
  11. Merriman should be, on occasion, lining up on the edge like a 3-4 blitzer. Take Sheppard out for the nickel back and have Barnett be the only LB.
  12. I'm worried that Kenny Britt and Jared Cook will shred our secondary. I'm not as concerned about stopping Chris Johnson.
  13. WOW. Those stats on Fitz's INTs are telling. In the last 25 starts: 10-4 when he throws fewer than 2 picks; 1-10 when he throws 2 or more.
  14. It's a message board. I'm giving my thoughts on Wilson, as are others with constructive posts. Yours isn't. I said that I'll concede my point if he succeeds. What's your problem?
  15. Wilson tends to have to throw from outside the pocket. He's been getting a lot of time, and that's not a luxury he'll always have; plus, he's been one of the worst QBs in completion percentage and Y.P.A. That being said, I think Golden Tate and the rest of his receivers are horrible and can't catch.
  16. My point is that I think he fundamentally doesn't have the skill set needed. In the context of this board, it's for the people who were clamoring for Wilson in the third round; he may be adequate, but the next QB we draft and anoint starter needs to be someone like Geno Smith, not Wilson.
  17. QBR is an absolute joke. Look at Brad Smith's rating from last week.
  18. To those saying Wilson was impressive in beating the Pats: Ryan Fitzpatrick, and as someone else noted, Kevin Kolb beat them. Tonight doesn't prove definitively that Wilson will be a good or bad player; I maintain that he will never be above average, but, again, it takes a few years to see.
  19. This list is a joke. A real underrated list would be (not comprehensively): Brandon Browner, Richard Sherman, Chris Clemons, Daryl Washington, Robert Quinn, Jason Jones, Geno Atkins, Duane Brown, Calais Campbell, Andy Levitre, Derek Cox, just to name a few. Note how many NFC West players there are; it's true that there's an East Coast media bias.
  20. Arizona 27, Buffalo 17.
  21. I still think we need another offensive lineman. I don't understand why White is on the roster while Fred and C.J. are "healthy." If Lee Smith ends up playing tackle because someone goes down, that's the final indictment of the management for me.
  22. I've watched a number of the Seahawks' games from start to finish. To whoever said I don't know much about Wilson: I do know that he appears to have trouble seeing over the line, and scrambles outside to try to find an open receiver. This means that he usually throws short-to-medium passes. It's absolutely fair to say that I'm judging him too early, but I don't see Wilson ever becoming a pocket passer. The point of this thread is that I don't think Wilson would have been the answer on this team, particularly when we want to win now (which we could do with a rookie like Luck/RG3, but that's irrelevant). Fitz isn't good, but we wouldn't be 4-1 or 3-2 with Wilson, nor do I think he'd be a good option long term. Feel free to criticize me if he ever becomes a top QB; this is just my opinion.
