  1. He didn't play much, yet put up big numbers in his limited time. There's a huge difference between Spiller and a guy who has only performed sporadically over a nine-year career.
  2. KC, Philly, Arizona, the Jets, and Bills are the only ones I see drafting a first round QB. Generally speaking, this isn't a very good, or deep, draft. I see a bunch of OLBs and DEs with huge boom/bust potential; the same is true of QBs. Unless Geno Smith or Te'o are available (they won't be), trade down with a team that wants a 3-4 rush OLB, then take a few LBs, a CB, and a QB in the early rounds.
  3. It was a salary dump. Someone will pick him up, and soon. I don't think we should, but I think he will be productive for a team like Cincy, Denver, the Giants, or, yes, the Patriots.
  4. What happens when Bane becomes the next QB of the Patriots? Pittsburgh should be worried.
  5. The Colts are three games ahead of us. The Bengals are two games ahead, and have a soft schedule. Even if those teams collapsed, there are multiple teams ahead of us which would finish with 4-1 or 3-2 records to secure the last playoff spot. You are delusional if you are thinking about the playoffs.
  6. A one-game suspension would be ridiculous, yes, but so is your reaction to his tweets. They're offensive and demonstrate a lack of professionalism and intelligence.
  7. http://wp.advancednf....com/teamOL.php http://www.footballo...rs.com/stats/ol We may not be top-five, but "bad" is an inaccurate description. Assuming Levitre/Urbik are retained, Glenn will improve and something is done about the RT spot, this will continue to be a strength of the team. Also critically: look at the second table of the Football Outsiders statistics. Our biggest weakness- where we are ranked 30th- is against the left end, meaning with our right tackle. We rank very high, including first, against the right end (with our left tackle). Cordy Glenn has been nothing short of fantastic in the running game, as we've seen all season; he also gets upfield for blocks. I do agree that our pass blocking leaves something to be desired, but it's average at worst.
  8. You're using the "last 40 years" as a relevant timespan. Wow...
  9. Flynn burned a bottom-5 pass defense with the Packers' receivers at his disposal. That's not to discredit his performance, but a guy like Alex Smith has shown far more than Flynn (having taken the 49ers to the NFC Championship). If we could get Flynn's contract restructured and trade something like a 4th or 5th for him, it would be worth considering. Otherwise, we're better off drafting a QB when it makes sense and bringing in someone like Orton or Campbell as competition with Fitz, if anyone at all.
  10. That much is obvious. Also, Carder is awful, and, apparently, a terrible person.
  11. I don't like Flynn's mechanics; he also hasn't shown enough to a) beat out a rookie or b) warrant a trade.
  12. Tell me how, in one year, we're going to get a QB that can magically turn things around? It's not happening for a while. This is a weak QB class, in terms of ability to play right away, and anyone we might pick up will sit a year or two on the bench. We're not getting a Luck/RGIII/Wilson, but a Tannehill- someone who needs a year or two to develop and may not end up being good.
  13. A new HC will probably want his own staff.
  14. I'm pretty sure T'eo will be a top 7 pick. We probably draft 8-15.
  15. 1) Rodgers 2) P. Manning 3) Brady 4) Brees 5) Roethlisberger 6) Ryan 7) E. Manning 8) Schaub 9) Freeman 10) Flacco 11) Cutler 12) Stafford 13) RGIII 14) Luck 15) Rivers 16) Romo 17) Wilson 18) Dalton 19) Smith 20) Newton 21) Palmer 22) Vick 23) Bradford 24) Fitzpatrick 25) Locker 26) Tannehill 27) Ponder 28) Sanchez 29) Weeden 30) Gabbert 31) Kolb 32) Cassel Some QBs are missing (Kaepernick, Henne, Quinn, etc.) because they haven't played enough games, while guys like Hasselbeck and Skelton won't see much more time excepting injuries; I kept it to one QB per team. Either way, clearly we need an upgrade.
  16. Rounds 1-3: QB; LB; LB, SS (in no particular order: take the BPA in each round, but grab one QB, one LB, and another LB or safety). Rounds 4-7: RB, LB, CB, WR, again in no particular order. I'd take Tyler Bray in the second/third round if he comes out.
  17. He's not going to Arizona, but there are definitely a few teams that would be interested in acquiring him. Minnesota is an interesting possibility, as Ponder isn't very good and they have enough offensive weapons to contend now.
  18. Why would the 49ers pay middle-of-the-road-starter money for Fitzpatrick, let alone trade Smith for him?
  19. Being in Buffalo doesn't make you much closer to the tri-state area. It's still a flight away, not driving distance.
  20. He had some key drives against us- our defense wasn't clutch- but generally speaking, yes, the defense put us in a position to win the game. The offense just failed to capitalize, however. If you hold the Colts to 20 points, you should probably win.
  21. Yep. I thought that the offense was better than it's looked recently, but I guess that's not the case. We went from being one of the five best teams in the red zone to one of the five worst.
  22. Locker is fine. He's just had injury problems, and his receivers can't catch.
  23. I would think that another team would have picked him up if he's healed fully.
  24. There's a reason the most accurate kicker in NFL history isn't playing.
  25. The team is supported by fans so, yes, "we" is appropriate. The NFL wouldn't exist without people paying for tickets/Sunday Ticket etc.
