  1. Yep. Adrian Peterson has rushed 289 times and is averaging 6.3 ypc. Spiller might average 5, which would be very, very good, but he would not average close to 6 ypc with 20 rushes/game.
  2. What do you expect? People are obsessed with him just because he went to the University of Buffalo. The amount of love for Roosevelt on this board is absurd. I'm not talking about the people who want him to do well, but the people who think "he could be a wes welker type player." It's embarrassing that Ruvell Martin sees the field as a WR, but that doesn't mean Roosevelt is good.
  3. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/12655460/harbaugh-extension-official-under-contract-at-stanford-through-14/rss Good point. Harbaugh was extended and left, anyway
  4. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8762464/david-shaw-stanford-cardinal-agree-long-term-extension
  5. McCarron doesn't strike me as particularly intelligent. He's Matt Leinart 2.0, except no team will draft him in the first round
  6. Offtopic, but do you really see Ogletree as a fourth-rounder? In my opinion, he's the best ILB in the draft, and a certain first round pick.
  7. Actually, I think you make a decent point; I believe Jauron was a better head coach than his record indicated, but had a team with poor talent (look at our QBs from that era; they are more Skelton than Fitzpatrick). Next year will be interesting if, and only if, we have a new coaching staff in place.
  8. Gilmore is a completely different CB, nor has he been particularly good this season. Revis and Peterson were excellent toward the end of their rookie years. Gilmore will be decent, but his ceiling is a Cortland-Finnegan type.
  9. We won't be in a position to draft Geno Smith, if NFL scouts think he's the real deal; the team with the top pick (KC, Oakland, Jax) will grab him. As for T'eo, I think he will be a good player, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ogeltree ends up the better pro. I voted "other"; I would go with Keenan Allen or Bjoern Werner, probably.
  10. Half of these guys aren't even free agents, nor will they be cut.
  11. If the standard for "good" is serviceable starter, then, yes, the above three are "good." I think Glenn will return the the early season form he had, but Bradham and Gilmore haven't been "good," but slightly below-average.
  12. I was wrong. I admit that. Thanks for your contribution.
  13. So you're refuting your point that being a good QB makes for a potential good NFL head coach? I don't understand the point of your original post. Harbaugh thrived at Stanford. Kelly has never been a coach. Do you not see the difference?
  14. So you think someone with no coaching experience, at any level, is fit to be an NFL head coach? Right. Kelly, like Marino, isn't smart enough to be a quality head coach (I'm not saying Gailey is). I think you underestimate the level of depth needed to coach in the NFL, especially today, from the technical aspects (time management) to the philosophical (scheme) that Kelly simply doesn't have. Kelly has been out of the game for years; it would be far worse than Gibbs, a former Super Bowl head coach, coming back and being outmatched because of how the game had evolved. Did you stop to think as to why Kelly might fail as a head coach, instead of "he led us to four Super Bowl appearances"? Your dream team of Kelly, Polian, and Bruce Smith would probably produce an 0-16 season, and that's not a slight at Polian, but rather this absurd concept.
  15. I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago. Fans love to jump on guys for leaving, like Whitner. If any of these guys walk- and some will- I won't be happy, but I'll respect the decision. This franchise is a joke.
  16. Yep, I conceded a few weeks back that Wilson is the real deal. He's legit.
  17. We should have traded for an unproven backup with a relatively huge contract, or signed him at bottom-level starter money to compete with Fitz? Right.
  18. Uhh, it's neither. The list is "run defense," not rushing attempts...
  19. I'm not sure how credible this website is.
  20. No, I don't claim my, or any other poster's articles on this board are more engaging than Talbot's. That being said- for his own benefit and that of the board's- he has a long way to go before posting informative articles.
  21. Can we stop posting Talbot articles? He's not a good writer. This article has no substance, other than "he shut down Fitzgerald and Blackmon." A balanced article would discuss the negatives and positives of his play. Gilmore has been ok this season. There's no indication that he's going to be a bust or a "shutdown corner."
  22. Thank you for your long history of positive, intelligent contribution to the board and discussion of the Bills.
  23. Do you notice a trend here? +1 So you weren't being "sarcastic," then?
  24. For Saban, the grass is always greener on the other side. If this report is true, that couldn't be more apparent; no stable coach will leave the best college program in the country for the NFL. If he does intend to come to the NFL, he won't consider us. Nor should we consider him.
