  1. Tony was not drafted the same year as Troupe...
  2. Our needs extend to safety, CB, DE, and (though not in the first) o-line depth and a #2 RB. We will be best off drafting BPA.
  3. Jarvis Jones, the 3-4 rush linebacker with a degenerative spinal condition? Ok.
  4. Think of Jay-Z and the Nets, or Magic Johnson and the Dodgers.
  5. Atlanta wouldn't have paid that much for a D.E. (they generally ignore the position) and didn't have much cap space. We'll never know, but my theory is that the only other team with space and interest was Cincinnati.
  6. A son who has been on the staff (and in coaching) for six months. Some ideas..
  7. Also laughable is the inclusion of Jason Pierre-Paul.
  8. How is Spiller not a Pro Bowler over the vastly overrated Arian Foster? Charles should start with Spiller second.
  9. It's been stated that Jacksonville wants Tebow primarily as an h-back.
  10. If he were a "football guy," he would have been involved in this, or another organization, long ago. He hasn't been. The only thing Kelly has proven, like Marino, outside of football is that he isn't the brightest. Elway is an exception among this group.
  11. Nice call on Wilson, but your assessment of Sanu (who's shown very little this season) and Carder (a bigot who was cut and hasn't seen the field) proves that we fans don't exactly have great scouting skills. It's easy to fall in love with, or dislike, a prospect, as someone will always be right, but the fact is that we would all fail if we stepped into the draft room tomorrow.
  12. As you note, Geno is very different from RGIII. He is mobile in the sense that he is shifty around the pocket and can dodge tacklers, but he is not a guy who has designed rush plays or likes to scramble. He's a pocket passer.
  13. Byrd and Levitre have been, by most professional opinions, among the best at their positions. There is an argument to be made that Byrd is the best safety in football. There is no doubt around the league that he is a top 6-7 safety, not "mediocre." http://wp.advancednflstats.com/defenderstats.php?pos=S The team sucks, but both of these guys are the best free agents at their position and among the best, period.
  14. The truth is that we have no idea if the Bills have made progress in talks with Byrd, or if they're really further along in talks than they are with Levitre. The Urbik deal came out of nowhere. Smoke and mirrors are always involved in contract negotiations. I would expect that Buffalo is aware of those numbers and is pressing hard to get the Levitre deal done. That being said, we are actually in a pretty good situation cap-wise, and what matters in the end is that both players get signed.
  15. Every game in the NFC playoff is going to be amazing. One possible matchup in the first round is Washington-Seattle. The winner would go on to play Atlanta. As bad as Buffalo's season has been, I'm excited for these playoffs, particularly to see what happens with all of the rookie QBs.
  16. Oh dear god.
  17. When a QB's playing status is in question, Vegas suspends betting on the game.
  18. Care to cite ProFootballTalk before passing their words off as your own?
  19. The Chiefs are an absolute disaster in the passing game and the run defense, but have a decent secondary and a great rushing game. I do think that they would be fine drafting Smith if they retained Dwayne Bowe and draft well.
  20. In the sense that there is no Luck to drop Smith to the #2 slot, yes, I think it is very unlikely that we will have a shot at Smith. That's unless Jacksonville, and not Kansas City, ends up with the #1 pick and is willing to trade down.
  21. Moving up won't get us Smith. If he is deemed a top-5 prospect, he will go #1 overall to Kansas City or Jacksonville. Teams won't make the Jake Long/Matt Ryan mistake again.
  22. Based off of what? Absolutely nothing.
  23. If Geno Smith is a top-5 QB, he'll go #1. We aren't getting Smith.
