Besides Dungy, I didn't see other coaches pushing for Caldwell's hire.

Caldwell went 2-14 as a head coach without Manning. I am not a fan of Marrone, but this was a terrible decision by Detroit.

Players drafted by the Bills that won the Super Bowl

Greer was an UDFA. -
What is your second favorite NFL team?

In terms of the playoffs, I favor the underdog(s). Give me a Carolina-San Diego Super Bowl. -
Bills working to keep Moorman [update: signed 1-10-2014]

Extended. If he has any guaranteed money, Whaley and Co. are probably receiving roster input from the marketing team. -
Soccer - Michael Bradley transfers from Roma to Toronto FC
ny33 replied to Cugalabanza's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The transfer isn't indicative of MLS' quality. Bradley, as you noted, is getting $6.5 million/year; that is more than five times what he was making at Roma. He's barely played this season; Florenzi is as good in the box-to-box CM role. Toronto offered far more to Bradley, and Roma, than any European team would have. Be cautiously optimistic about what this means. Bradley is a very good player, but it's not like Strootman, Florenzi, or Pjanic- who have been excellent this season- moved from Roma to Toronto. -
Personnel Decisions Looming for Bills in 2015
ny33 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Up and down" implies that Aaron Williams has been inconsistent. He has not. Williams had an atrocious start, but has improved, and is on track for a solid contract which he will deserve if he replicates this past season's performance. -
Would the Bills trade up to get Watkins?
ny33 replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the "bigger Steve Smith" comparison, though, at least in recent memory with Case Keenum throwing him the ball, I don't quite see the same edge in Andre Johnson. Marquise Lee, whom the Bills may consider at #9, if Watkins is gone, concerns me. He doesn't have the best ball skills and shies away from some hits. He reminds me of Stevie Johnson with, perhaps, slightly more upside. -
Bills working to keep Moorman [update: signed 1-10-2014]

The Bengals replaced Powell with Mesko, who had two punts inside the twenty. We could have signed him and given him a multi-game trial when the season was shot. -
Would the Bills trade up to get Watkins?

Watkins is 6'1. How do you compare him to A.J. Green? Watkins reminds me of Percy Harvin, but taller. He has excellent ball skills, speed, and Y.A.C. ability. He won't be able to get all of the jump balls that Green/Calvin Johnson can snag. -

Cordy Glenn was touted as a mid-to-late first rounder, not as a potential top ten pick. Things can, of course, change over the course of the draft process, but I don't see Ebron dropping out of the first round. -

There is no chance Ebron is available at 41. Zero. When are these rankings from? -
1) His name is Brett, not Matt, Hundley. 2) Have you actually watched Hundley this season? He has poor footwork, poor accuracy, and locks on to receivers. Like Manuel, he is very talented, physically, and with the right coaching could succeed, but at the moment Hundley displays many of the negative traits that Manuel does (and Manuel wasn't so inaccurate in college). 3) Hundley isn't declaring, so it's a moot point. Todd is correct. BuffaloBarbarian has posted in favor of drafting/signing/trading for obscure or second-rate players for what, ostensibly, seems like a ploy for attention. If he were to provide an actual assessment of Manziel, his post would have some merit. As for my thoughts on Manziel, I would not use the #9 pick on someone with so many character concerns. He is also not a physical specimen at Q.B., another red flag that, on its own, would not exclude him from consideration, but there are too many red flags with Manziel to draft him so early. Motivation and work ethic are a huge factors in N.F.L. success.

Bills need to poop or get off the pot.
ny33 replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do you think Manziel is a better prospect than Bridgewater, or even Carr/Bortles/Hundley? Manziel isn't going to be taken by any NFL team at #1 overall. -
Basement to Penthouse ? what team is next ?
ny33 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Houston is not drafting Manziel #1 overall. Stop. Also, Richie Incognito, for good reason, is going to be out of the league. He is a petty thug whom I would not want on the Buffalo Bills. Are you a contrarian for effect? -
Houston & St Louis both open to trading #1 & #2 picks
ny33 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. I would trade up for Bridgewater in a second. Do you follow the NFL? Schaub didn't play for most of the middle of the season, and was replaced by the mediocre Case Keenum. Schaub throw pick six after pick six, leading to massive fan discontent and burnings of his jersey. -
Would the Bills trade up to get Watkins?

Trading up in the first for any position besides QB is insane. Lee has a problem with dropping the ball. -
Bills working to keep Moorman [update: signed 1-10-2014]
ny33 replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I should have probably posted this weeks ago, but was surprised by Whaley's comments. Perhaps you're right, but I still think we should have worked in other punters after cutting Powell, or a few weeks into Moorman's tenure this season. -
Bills working to keep Moorman [update: signed 1-10-2014]
ny33 replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He did not. The primary reason I made this thread was to remark on the fact that the Bills did not replace Moorman after being eliminated from playoff contention. We missed a great opportunity to throw a punter into the fire during meaningless games; instead, we likely will have only the preseason to see what a new punter can do in game situations. There's a chance we'll use a 6th or 7th rounder on a punter, which I think would be a good move. Giving Moorman any guaranteed money would be a huge mistake. -
I agree wholeheartedly regarding your thoughts on the Shoutbox. It is, as you say, "dominated" by a small group of posters who have no football insights and instead use it to carry on inane conversations between themselves. Occasionally, it is a rapid-fire, valuable tool for discussing the Bills and football, but most of the time it is nonsensical or personal musings from about four or five users who have nothing to add to the discussion re: football.

These should all be great games. I'm happy the Dolphins, Cowboys, and Ravens didn't get in.
-
Keep in mind that Peyton Manning, statistically, was not an excellent QB in his first season.

LiterateStylish posted metrics that no one else provided. He was a solid contributor to the board.
