  1. I’m very optimistic about Josh, but Darnold already looks like the truth.
  2. unbelievable that the jack-booted thug who killed wilkins' unarmed grandfather was not charged with murder
  3. why did Ed Oliver not get interviewed?
  4. the anti-Gilmore. He is thrilled to be on this team.
  5. Does anyone know if Poyer, White, etc. received votes for either the first or second team?
  6. Mario for Skelton
  7. Barkley was, at one point, considered the #1 prospect (his junior year, if I recall correctly). He may be a player.
  8. Basic plays like that (and the inability of the receivers on this team to catch) are why the team kept Holmes. I'll never understand the people who clamored for Reilly over him.
  9. It's perfectly fine for Lawson to be the 5th-best defensive lineman. Right now he's about as mediocre as Star/Kyle (at this stage in his career), which unfortunately makes him c. the 2nd-best front four player on the Bills. I don't mind keeping him going forward, but we're going to have to draft on both sides of the lines and maybe go after someone like Golden Tate.
  10. Of course. I said that he "makes big mistakes." But he's a playmaker with an arm, and Peterman doesn't have any compelling qualities. Trading McCarron based on Peterman's preseason results was folly.
  11. He can have a Tavon Austin-type role.
  12. Allen makes big mistakes but the occasional play. Peterman is incapable of doing anything. There's no reason to have him over a vet QB.
  13. I don't think that Poyer is that good (Hyde is). He got a lot of easy picks last year. The D was also able to send safeties on rushes, which we can't do with the terrible front four right now. It's a shame we couldn't keep Dareus motivated or whatever compelled them to trade him. It'll be a huge dilemma as to whether we want to take a blue chip DE/DT or trade down and pick 3-4 players in the first two rounds.
  14. Because our defense is terrible. He had a clear lane that any back, or even most of the QBs in the league, would get a touchdown off of.
  15. Melvin Gordon is one of the most overrated players in the NFL. He's slow and averages less than 4 YPC. He'll continue to get the bulk of carries, but Ekeler and a three-down type back will replace him in the next two years.
  16. Agreed. Something that often gets overlooked is that the Bills traded too much for the 7th pick: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2018/4/26/17288354/buffalo-bills-overpay-to-trade-up-for-josh-allen-draft-chart-jimmy-johnson-value Arizona paid far less in the Rosen trade. This wasn't a year where people were clamoring to trade up. We probably could have given up less and had enough resources to at least pick up a 2nd/3rd round lineman.
  17. While I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for another year or so, and the people who actually matter (Pegulas) will give them at least that, there are glaring concerns. Most significant is the clear preference for players they are familiar with, a concern that the layman fan can clearly identify. Lotulelei had been considered to be on the decline by mainstream and statistically-oriented news organizations, including PFF, and looked to be done via the eye test. Benjamin's rookie year also appears to be a clear fluke, and it's concerning that personnel decisions appear to be made based on players' performance from years ago, when Beane was able to see them play well on a day-to-day basis. As for the draft picks, I don't think Beane should have gone all-in with his accumulated capital to acquire Allen and Edmunds. The trade up for the former was seen as a complete overpay according to the value charts, and is a more glaring concern when you consider that Beane was willing to trade away from Mahomes' draft slot and then burn the acquired resources for his 2018 trade up. The team has glaring holes, and a better GM would have at least used some of the Edmunds picks on a more full roster (if he wanted to get his QB at all costs, fine; if he wanted to get his MLB at all costs, the move was wrong even if Edmunds turns into a Pro Bowler). The neglect of the o-line and WR in this year's draft cannot be overstated. As for McDermott, his communication leaves a lot to be desired, and his game management skills/aggression are certainly not top tier. They deserve some time, but there are some significant concerns that lead me to believe these guys are not top-tier.
  18. Mowins has to go. I'm watching the game in Spanish because she's so unpleasant on the ears.
  19. Carl Nassib is an idiot. I loved when Fabiano shut him down. The market doesn’t return 10% (something closer to 7%) and interest certainly doesn’t, either. With the exception of a handful of closed private equity and venture capital funds, alternative investment doesn’t, either. Even the big guys like Carlyle, Blackstone, and TPG see significant IRR declines in second and later-generation funds. I love Tyrod’s mentality and professionalism. I wish we had him over McCarron as we ease Allen in, but he’s got a chance to succeed with Njoku and Landry in Cleveland. Best of luck to him.
  20. My problem with cutting Holmes for Reilly is that you then have a team with two guys who've proven that they can play at an NFL level (Benjamin and Kerley). Coleman, Reilly, and Jones have shown nothing, and even if McCloud is there as a returner I'd be seriously concerned with the lack of experience.
  21. What is this obsession people have with Brandon Reilly? I’d rather have a proven mediocre receiver in Holmes.
  22. Vanderbilt is a good school. Alabama and Auburn are not.
