really? How many people said no last time? We settled for chan. Not even a guy the Bills were looking at. Chan was recomended to us. Chip Kelly has three interviews. One with the bills. Horton wants to "blow our socks off" and lovie's top reported choices are Arizona, and buffalo. Hell I wasn't happy about the Chan firing (doesn't fix QB). But now im excited about our options.

It's funny that this is a suprise. He was having a career year, until he was hurt last year. The whole wrist surgery thing was less of a big deal, finding focus, and learning how to play with each other I think made the difference. Everyone on the line has stepped up, as of late. IMO. He had two good games before the surgery. I think we as fans just love to cry the sky is falling. the thing with free agents is, well you can't compare there pay, to a guy you resigned, or drafted. You pay to keep him out of another team's hands. I get so tired of the whole "over paid" crap. Would you be happier if we didn't pay him? And he went to Jax, or any where? I am Soooo glad they did what it took to keep him. I felt that way while the whole of TBD buried Nix for "over paying" for him. On the flip side of this coin (and I said this while the Mario hate was in full swing) if we didn't "over pay" for him, the city of buffalo would have stormed one bills drive with torch, and pitch forks in hand.

its hard for me to judge people. Money doesn't buy common sense. I'm sure many posters here without DUI's just haven't been caught. It's sad, and inexcusable, but unless we want to make alcohol illegal again we will keep hearing about this kinda stuff. If Jim Kelly really took limos out to get drunk, than I'm proud of him. The only real way to prevent drunk driving, is to have a plan in place to get home already. If its 3:30 am, and your drunk, your not going to do the right thing. As a matter of fact, I tried to drive drunk once. Two of my friends beat my azz, took my keys, and tossed me in the shower after I passed out. Best friends I have.

agreed with all you said. Especially the part about not all teams being lucky enough to have a great QB, but when was the last time a team without an elite QB even went to the big show? My point again, is QB is the issue. Not coaching. Get Chan a QB, and let's see how things work out. Having the right QB can make your coach look like a genius. As far as the coaches scheme, who cares what it is, as long as the players can run it. If you change your mind and responding, I'm not comparing malarkey to dungy, ect, I'm saying get us a damn QB. I've seen Fitz put up some big numbers with Chan as coach. I've even seen Fitz throw four touchdowns in the second half of a game to beat the patriots. If Chan had a consistent QB, I think we would see more games like that.

I don't think so. It's not like the thread read "Bills to hand keys of franchise to Sanchez". I'm of the opinion that we can't have enough QB competition. I liked Sanchez when he was drafted. Have you ever worked for a really bad company, not like abusive bad, but poorly run bad? No matter how hard you work its like spinning your wheels. I think Sanchez found himself in that situation. Instead of being taught to be a pro, he was shown a circus.

actually, all of theis guys won there respective coaches their first super bowls. And none of the QBs listed were on their coaches team when the coach got the job. All theis coaches got to pick their QB. So their is a difference.

Payton had, well himself, brees has had two. The teams on top have been playing their systems for so long, we will never be able to compete if were learning our system every few years. I don't think Chix is that old glue horse. Slick Dick was.I guess that it boils down to everyone's opinion of Nix. Now, I don't agree with every move nix has made, and I don't think Nix himself would either, but every complaint we as fans scream about not retaining good players, or opening the piggy bank in free agency Nix has addressed. Now I remember back in the day, when rookie QBs didn't start, their was a term for a QB holding the rookies spot.....any one remember what it was?

you know, I haven't noticed more blitzing. I don't know that there has been more or less, but I noticed against the jags, with just four Henne was rushing throws. I saw a thread about how Marcel, and Kyle were quiet last week; I thought they wrecked the pocket, and forced hurried inaccurate passes. Gilmore has been back and forth from either side, its into the slot he won't go. Reggie Wayne almost exclusively plays from the slot, and roasted Justin Rodgers.

maybe not Dick, but Wade, Mularkey, even Perry. Dude, picking out one guy out if the last nine is not going to change that we need continuity. And the point I was making with Fitz is they have NEVER called him a franchise QB. But they have said they are looking for one. Perception is reality, and the perception is that Chix is happy with Fitz. The reality is, Fitz is what they have at the moment. Chix will get us a QB, when one is worth it. With the coaching carousel we've had since I've been a fan (17 years) how does anybody expect to get better? The real issue has ALWAYS Been QB. I want to see what Chan's offense will look like with a good QB.

your assuming that Chan and Fitz are hand cuffed, even though Nix has been looking for, and will draft a QB. To the point that Nix has told us for a while now that Fitz is our "guy, that we can win games with", but we are looking for a franchise QB. I can tell you this, teams with no continuity don't win.

I just think he will make a career out if the slot (nickel back). IMO he is not big enough to play on the perimiter.

Nix said that Fitz will be the starter until he is beat out. If we draft a QB, and he is better than Fitz, he will start. Why cut Fitz now, when we don't even know if the QB we draft is any good. I think that whats really going on is that people are fishing for answers that he IS NOT going to give with 5 games left. Can we just get through the season before we fire people, draft a QB, and start all over for the sixth time in 10 years. I'm still in with Nix. I can see what he's trying to do. Be patiant. Allow for some continuity. On a side note, I think Bryd's bags are packed. He's just waiting for free agency to hit.
