  1. Watched this dude's interview on bb.com, love that he is quiet and reserved on camera, almost the opposite of the "im so excited Marrone" (not that Marrone's enthuiasm is bad, Pettine just seems to belay an authoritative confidence is all) and IMO that should help with the teaching of the new stuff he will bring. There can be no doubt the D is ready for something new and didnt believe in Pornstache's approach. However, I think a guy who would come in and overcompensate with rah rah Gregg stuff might be tuned out. Pettine brings results, but based on how he projects himself in the few interviews and on the field footage i have seen so far, it feels like he coaches in a way that highlights confidence in who he has, not bravado about what his schemes can do or have done. We'll see. I might be in left field. However, my feeling is he is going to have this D believing in themselves and each other. A middle of the pack (top 15?) improvement may be within reach!
  2. You attributed the Bengals record to an individual player. That's silly.
  3. Dalton's ok. Middle of the pack QB so far. This is Dalton's second year. AC is correct. I'm always puzzled by folks that credit one player for team accomplishments, however.
  4. So Green Ellis is a winner and Spiller is a loser? It's a team sport, no?
  5. And for some reason you used team records to compare them. I was simply pointing out how foolish that is.
  6. Ben Jarvis Green-Ellis 10-6 CJ Spiller 6-10 See how much fun this is?
  7. Is your assertion that any QB in the playoffs is a "franchise" QB? Not sure what you are getting at with this comment...
  8. So far Dalton seems "eh". Certainly does not look like a "franchise" QB yet.
  9. That was actually Rapaport asking around the league about Whaley, not Whis. It wasnt Whis asking about Whaley, it was Rapaport.
  10. Why would you fire your GM in the middle of a coaching search?
  11. Hopefully with a pleasant aroma of pipe tobacco.
  12. Hammer, has Ralph's Taurus been spotted at OBD over the weekend?
  13. I wonder what will happen when he has more than a 57 yo Steve Smith* to throw to. *See Ryan, Matt
  14. What was? That he would end up here, or that Buffalo would contact his agent?
  15. I am a big fan of SJ13 and I hope he grabs 1K if for no other reason than it's a significant milestone and will help validate all the hard work this kid has put in since Day 1. That said, who cares? Dre Reed never did it, but Dre Reed had bigger fish to fry, like January home games. Eric Moulds never did it, but Eric Moulds played his share of January football as well. I bet Stevie would actually put up better numbers once this team acquires a true gamebreaking WR and SJ13 can escape the shackles of double coverage and rolling safeties and even if he didnt, he wouldnt give a crap. Scrimping for 65 yards to get to 1K is a really junky way to end the season.
  16. It's so sad that we are actually talking about this.
  17. Tim Tebow is an awful QB. No thanks.
  18. So far so good. Anyone see a bit of Thurman in Shane Vereen? It's not just the number, it's the crouch, posture, and running style.
  19. I agree. Spikes' hit on Fitz gets a flag every time, but i'm not sure it was fine worthy. At initial contact it was facemask to facemask. I think Fitz was more grumpy about the illegal Chandler hit in game 1, which prompted his reaction to the hit in game 2. Just my $0.02.
  20. The season ended when Tennefreakinsee beat us in our own building. If you can't win that game, you have no business pipe dreaming about division wins.
  21. If we were playing to our strength and still getting beat I'd be a lot less frustrated with 2012. It just sucks every last bit of enthusiasm out of me to watch us blow game after game trying to do things we aren't good at.
  22. True, but at least it was there. This year it seems like every deep throw is a pick u can call from your living room. What changed?
  23. I think the most puzzling thing is he's been able to do this in the past, with confidence and authority. Why cant he do it this year?
  24. Hang on, u guys talking about that FG late in Q2 that got the Bills their first points? That was absolutely the right call IMO. Take the 3 and get the ball to start Q3. It actually worked out even better than Gailey could have planned as they were able to snake yet another 3 out before the half. No problem with that decision at all.
  25. It's an absolute outrage.
