  1. total entertainment. they had the chance to put real gun experts on the other day and chose david hogg and some other rating boost. Tom is right here - Hillary Clinton was/is completely unelectable. Trump, at the time, was much more preferable. The choice of Trump as a alternative to Clinton should not be overlooked.
  2. It's well known that the planet heats and cools, who cares who's fault it is, etc? For the first time in history maybe a species can impact that change positively. https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-noaa-data-show-2016-warmest-year-on-record-globally Why not try?
  3. The latest from the White House seems to be that the President's words don't mean anything. http://theweek.com/articles/788211/president-trumps-inarticulate-defense Should a President's words be taken at face value?
  4. Terrible signing. Bill in NYC is gonna be furious!
  5. The NYPD. From Jan to March of 2018, the NYPD made 4,081 arrests for pot possession. 287 of those were white, although according to FBI data published on their site weed use does not differ substantially by race or ethnicity and further, people generally purchase pot from the people of the same race and or ethnicity. Additionally, arrest rates for pot possession are 4 times higher in Canarsie than they are in Greenpoint, despite police data that shows calls to report use were made by ppl in both neighborhoods at a very similar rate. The American criminal justice system. To wit, the 13th amendment: Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Well, gee, that makes a nice little incentive to convict now doesn't it?
  6. If you mean all politicians, including the prez, then yes, you are correct sir!
  7. Try not to make it an insult to Trump, Tiberius. That only stokes people’s emotions. Instead, focus on why this guy is employed by the White House. Are people ok with our government hiring someone who covered up abuse and assault? If so, why?
  8. Let’s just get back to the topic at hand, which is the cover up and subsequent lying by a member of Congress about sexual abuse.
  9. What does Obama have to do with the White House hiring a guy that was fired from Fox of all places for covering up sexual assault? Can anyone actually have a conversation about a topic anymore? Dont bite. Keep him on topic.
  10. The gymnastics...I don't understand why anyone would choose party over country but hey you do you. Seriously with this stuff?
  11. For all of Trump's ineptitude, his two SC picks have been rock solid. Both Gorsuch and Kavanaugh represent a hands off approach regulatorily but a willingness to consider all facts of a case before deciding. Not too shabby, considering the source.
  12. Did no one want to talk about the fact that our nation's top law enforcement branch hired a guy that Fox News fired for covering up crimes? So glad we support the rule of law!
  13. Why is this thread filled with left/right accusations? This thread is about sexual abuse.
  14. Not upset at all buddy. Always appreciate the discourse we have and always respect your opinion. Your point is valid. I admit I’m intolerant on racism, but I don’t care what people think about that. I’ll never apologize for being intolerant on that front. More and more I see it being overlooked as if it’s something to be excused, like bad manners. To see it oozing out of our government just breaks my heart and I owe it to my kids to call it out where ever I see it.
  15. The mental gymnastics racists go through to say they aren’t racist! Who should people believe? Someone who was there, actually founded the secessionist movement, and can tell the story in the first person, or some guy 150 years later who read some Shelby Foote once and now thinks he’s an expert?
  16. Confederate monuments - yes Stetson, truck, Conway - no The confederacy was founded upon the idea that the white man is superior to the brown man. If that’s your thing, frankly I’m shocked, but yes, you are an open racist.
  17. You are probably right, I can do much better. I shouldn’t be talking down to folks and should respect everyone’s opinion on here except for the ppl that openly support racism.
  18. Alexander Stephens, the Vice President of the confederacy, said this upon the foundation of the secessionist entity: “Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition.” Corey Stephens stands for that. You are defending Corey Stephens. See what you are?
  19. Did you want to, by chance, look at his own words for yourself? Or would you prefer to make your stand on insulting someone you don’t know know and assuming a lot about their political position while automatically backing a known racist just because he’s “to the right”? is that republican doctrine in 2018?
  20. Isn’t this kind of a no brainer? Everyone knows the guy is a comple racist and has been since high school. I am willing to admit I overreacted when using the word crimes but I have to admit I didn’t expect anyone to indentify so closely with him. Sorry to have offended you. I’m now tying every policy of his to you until 2024. I’m sure you will proudly own it!
  21. Not one person in this thread had criticized the President for congratulating an open racist. Instead they have criticized the person that pointed it out. Think about it - the America we live in makes it easier to criticize the person calling out racism than the person sitting in the system and not pointing it out.
  22. Oh yes, Baghdad Bob is back. I’m thinking replacement for SHS!? Or maybe we need something told that the rest of the world knows is blatantly obvious.
  23. Yeah don’t care about your insult here, again everyone knows this is not a big deal. The only ppl that want to make it a “full situation” are ppl interested in conflict. She got kicked out of a private business. She’s a devicive figure. She should not be surprised. Who cares? Everyone knows she is a clown but before that who cares?
  24. If you don’t care who he is, then you are complicit for his crimes. I mean seriously. Grow up and understand what you are supporting.
